My computer, a HP Pavilion with Windows 7, can't install my old deskjet 710c It is connected with a cable with on one side a USB plug en on the other side the old parallel connector for the printer. If I put the USB plug into the computer Windows update starts to find the printerdriver and that's the point where things go wrong. In the end it says no printer found.
After much trial and error, I've succeeded in finding an alternative driver for my HP 980cxi.Windows 7 offers only one of it's standard drivers as being compatible, thereby losing a lot of options including double-sided printing. In the drop-down list during printer installation, tell Windows you've got an Officejet Pro K550 Series and it's back to normal There are more settings to play with with this driver..
HP Deskjet printer won't print with USB on new PC. Prints fine with parallel cable on old PC. Why won't it print now with a new PC using USB connection? I have a new USB cable.
My hp deskjet 6980 printer doesn't like the drivers that are auto loaded with my dell 1720 with windows 7 home pre. 32 bit operating system. HP doesn't list any for windows 7. Is there any other drivers I can use.
I have had a windows XP Network and everything was working fine, but I got a free copy of Windows 7 (and it is a legit copy from MS) and installed it on one of our machines. Everything is up and running fine except trying to connect the network printer has being a pain, the printer is a HP Desk-jet 1220c. My router is the Asus WL600g which has the print server built in.
The settings for the network are set to share and printers are checked.
I have Windows 7 Pro installed on my laptop, and have an HP Deskjet 6122 attached to a desktop on my home network. When adding a network printer, I can see the printer, but since HP doesn't have ANY Windows 7 drivers released, Windows can't install it.
HP's site gives a workaround, saying to use a Deskjet 990c driver "which is included on the Windows 7 disc". Just to see what's included, I tried installing a local printer, browsed to the list of supported HP printers, and surprise surprise, no 990c listed (not that it's a local printer anyway).
So what's the fix for this? Since HP claims that the 'alternate driver', the 990c one, is included with Windows, it doesn't even offer a link to download this driver.
So how can I print from Windows 7 to a networked printer?
I am having Windows 7 OS in my laptop. Tried to connect HP Deskjet 610c printer with the laptop using cable wire. In Windows 7, I searched for Windows update and it recognized the said printer. Now, the printer is added and I am also able to print the test page. Now, the problem is- if I am trying to print any other document (File--->Print) then the printer prints some special character #$% etc instead of printing the document properly.
My printer's power button always blinks and everytime i start printing, it always says that the printer is offline and the active printing documents are all paused whereas when i check it in Devices and printers, it can read the printer and when i troubleshoot it, it states that the printer is off. i don't know what's the problem because it only started when i upgrade my o.s to windows 7 but when i bought that printer i was using windows xp.... it turned out that i encounter this kind of problem when i'm using windows 7 but i also encounter this when i used windows xp but not that serious to the extent that it's not printing at all.
since upgrading to windows 7, I've had nothing but problems with my HP Deskjet 6988. I finally uninstalled it and started all over. Now I can get it to print with a usb connection. How do I get the computer to recognize the printer as being wireless?
I am trying to connect my printer HP Deskjet 1280 to my new laptop - Windows 7 64bit and have also have 32 bit. I have used the disk that was supplied with the printer, but no luck and when I go to the HP website, they tell me the driver is automatically installed, yet a message on my laptop says the Deskjet 1280 doesn't have a drive.
