So I have a little problem... When I used xp, I had outlook express. When I used vista, I had updated version of it, "windows mail".
Now I can't have windows mail or any updated version of it to Windows 7? I've heard that MS stopped supporting windows mail / outlook after they released their windows live mail thing.
But the problem is that now I have about 4000 e-mails on my vista's hard drive in .eml form and I can't export them back to my email hoster's server where windows mail used to import letters..
so, what programs are compatible with .eml in windows 7?
Or is it possible to have same old outlook express or windows mail back to windows 7 or do I have to stick with vista forever?
My problem started today when i disassembled my computer to clear out the dust (oh my god so much dust) When i put it back together, i started getting constants BSOD, (IRQL, page fault, drivers, etc), i was going to format anyway so i started in safe mode (got i few bsods but managed to log in) backed up important data in an external hard drive, and made a fresh clean windows 7 x64 install. Now i randomly get IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSODs. i read that it can be caused by faulty memory, but memtestx86 showed no errors.

Since 4 days i got a problem with my windows crashing. I get bluescreen which says IRQL_not less or euqal. It also says something about saving dumped memory in the blue screen, thats all i could figure out of it.It just startet after I set up windows 4 days ago because of some errors and a stupid trojan which was on my pc. Formated and deleted partitions, set up new, installed all drivers, programms etc. At first everthing was fine all was working perfectly. Then suddenly 1 day later this error apeared. Well it actually seemed to have apeared after i tried to install atitools which wouldnt work. I deinstalled it, no change. Then i set up windows 7 new, i formated and deleted the old partitions. Still no change, as soon as i run either firefox or a 3D game the bluescreen sometimes apears. Set it up new again, installed all drivers everything etc. still no change.Since i read that IRQL bluescreen is often related to drivers i installed all new that could be related. Direct x, graphics, mainboard, checked windows updates to really have the NEWEST... still i get this bluescreen.

Since installing Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 6920 Laptop I've been getting regualr BSOD's. As far as I remember they only happen whilst web browsing (I use Chrome).My laptop was previously running Vista.I get the error - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and a load of tech stuff.

This is on a Vista upgraded to a Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6550 2,33 Ghz and 2 GB RAM.The problems started slowly but now it's getting very bad, such as I'm forced to use "save mode" to write this.The PC is protected by Kaspersky. As read in other threads I did the TDSSkiller as well as the Malwarebytes - nothing found.Hereafter a "bluescreenview" which, I hope, will help to identify the problem. I've been getting this bluescreen error sometimes when watching videos and I can also get it every time I try to install a specific game (it plays music in the background when installing) when clicking the next button after inputting the serial. I think this has something to do with the drivers but am not sure which one. I have updated all of the drivers I can from the Asus page a few months ago. I have installed Win 7 and Win Live Mail.I have my old OS (Vista) on a secondary Hard Drive and have managed to import all the messages from the old drive.Now I want to obtain my list of contacts but cannot see how. I have trawled through this question via the search box search and the nearest answer is to export them first. Unfortunately I did not do that.
This is quite a complex operation and MS doesn't actually explain how to do it so here goes.
The trick is to get your email messages into Outlook Express (OE on XP) or Windows Mail (on Vista) before you can import into Windows Live mail. Then the import can be done directly.
There isn't any way currently to import mail directly from Outlook to Windows Live Mail so you have to do it indirectly BEFORE installing Windows 7.
1) even if you don't use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (VISTA) you need to have them running on the same machine as your copy of OUTLOOK.
2) create (if you haven't already) email accounts in OE or Windows mail identical to those you have in Outlook.
3) Now import your messages from Outlook into OE or Windows Mail.
4) Change the Store Identity in OE or Windows mail to a disk that your Windows 7 can read (do this under Maintenance - data storage locations in OE or Windows Mail).
Doing this saves you having to install Live Mail on Vista or XP
5) Logon to your Windows 7 system and install Windows Live mail.
6) Set up your email accounts
7) File ==> import==>messages
8) Chose Outlook express or Windows mail depending on step 3)
9) Browse to the directory where you stored the messages in step 4)
10) Job done.
A bit fiddly but obviously MS don't want to make it easy for people to switch from Outlook
Note also the "Send and Receive" function is calles "SYNC" in Windows Live mail -- confusing but there it is.
If you also installed Windows Messenger you can prevent it from starting automatically at startup by going to the Orb ==>acessories==>run. type msconfig and unclick windows messenger in the start up box.
There doesn't appear to be ANY method of importing mail directly from Outlook 2003/2007.
Ever since purchasing a new Dell PC with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail, I am being driven around the bend with mail problems.Previously with XP and Vista my mail through my ISP worked almost flawlessly. Now it seems that not only is my email is being wrecked by Windows Live Mail, but Microsoft is monitoring my private mail! Why am I receiving messages (below) from Microsoft re Live Mail and Hotmail? In effect it seems that Windows Live Mail is duplicating AND storing incoming mail on my ISP's server.
Recently i switched from Thunderbird to Windows Live Mail.I managed to import/export my TB mails to Windows Live Mail, but i can't seem to get my contacts into the Windows Live Mail.I'm Thunderbird i exported my adresbook into a .csv file.When i import that file into my WLM contacts i only see 2 contacts.When i open de csv file, i see alot more contacts.
In Win XP, the contacts selection called up the contact name and e-mail in separate columns, so that you could sort the list by name or by e-mail address.Is there any way of doing that in Win 7?Occasionally I get an e-mail with just the e-mail address, but not a contact name, and I'd like to be able to find out who it is.
I have - quite stupidly, as I now think - installed Windows Seven on my old Vista on my Laptop without thinking about the Mail program at all. That is: neither did I make a backup nor did I export contact lists from Windows Mail, etc.
I was, however, able to import most of the stuff from Windows Mail into Windows Live Mail anyway. I took ownership of both Windows Mail folders (in C:Program Files and C:Program Files(x86) including subs 'n files, and tried the import function in Windows Live Mail - three times, I think.
I can't really tell whether or not all my messages are there, yet I can say for sure that what I find in the Storage Folders section in Windows Live Mail reproduces only a part of the filing system I had established in Windows Mail. That is to say: A lot of the folders I used to have in Windows Mail are simply missing. Are the messages that used to be in there missing, too? No idea so far... they might be in the Inbox or somewhere else.
To be sure, I have everything, that is: all my messages, on my webmail-account. Yet it took me forever to work out my huge filing system (including all the message rules, etc.) in Windows Mail which allows me to have more folders than my webmail account that is for some reason limited to 258 folders. So even although I know that in the end I do have all the messages on my webmail, I would just hate to have to do all that work again! Thus I'd just love to "simply" get my Webmail stuff imported as it was.
Any ideas what I might have done wrong? ...what I could do to retrieve the missing folders?
Alternatively: Is there any way to "simply" (I know what you're thinking...) reactivate Windows Mail in Windows 7 so that I can start over by properly exporting everything from there?
I have found some related topics but did not see anyone having this particular problem. If I simply overlooked it, sorry! At any rate: I'd appreciate any help you can offer!

I've got a problem with computer BSOD's. Most of the time they happen when im playing wow. Some days i've got no problems at all and some days i get some BSOD's in a row. To my knowledge i've updated all my drivers recently and everything should be up to date now. I have also read alot on forums but nothing seems to work or relate to what i am experiencing.

My system is a Windows7 64Bit Sony Vaio VPCEC2S0E,Getting BSOD with the following at the top DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.I have zipped the DMP files and attached them.
I've had BSOD twice now and have checked that all the drivers are up to date. I also now have a problem with the battery (I think it may be the ac adapter rather than the actual battery) but not sure if it's linked to the BSOD.
More and more I am getting these BSOD's lately while I am playing resource heavy games (skyrim/swtor).The Last known good configuration sw days, but the BSODs are back.Video card is updated, Memtest86 shows nothing wrong, Video Stress test is good.I am at a loss at this point and have no idea where to go from here. I have been having the aforementioned BSOD's for a few months now and have simply put up with them since they were only happening twice a day. I have finally decided to try and fix them so I came here. I had always thought that the ATI drivers were always the problem (or at least part of it) since I used to have a lot of trouble even updating them and I used to get BSOD's during heavy gpu load (rift on max settings with crossfire on). My computer has since started crashing on the desktop sometimes so I'm not sure what it is. I had a look at the perfmon report and noticed an issue with logmein. I have no idea why it's there as I uninstalled it quite some time ago? I do have anti-virus installed (Kaspersky internet security). The UAC being off is self-explanatory. The perfmon report also says that WWAN autoconfig was stopped abnormally. I don't know if it is caused by the changes I made to the registry to kill processes faster due to an abnormally long shutdown time I had? I have done things like give myself ownership of all the files on the entire computer so I can add/change stuff in the windows folder and it is possible (but very unlikely) that I may have affected something. I also made an attempt to manually remove ATI driver registry entries at one point due to problems.
Basically I keep getting this error, I've just received the laptop back from PC World and its still happening. as trying to do uni work on this machine is a nightmare as it keeps cutting.[CODE]
My computer had it's power on but the monitor was saying the VGA cable wasn't plugged in. After unplugging the monitor from the computer and plugging it in again, it worked normally. But later the screen just distorted and the computer froze. I started it again manual, but after a short while, the BSOD appear.

I am trying to clean install win 7 prof 64 bit without success. According to windows advisor, i had no hardware issues. I can't even install it. Every time it advances to completing installation and then BSOD.
Every error codes: Ox0000001e, 000000c5, irql less nor equal, bad pool header etc. I don't remember all of them as I can't debug as the OS never installed. I checked the HD for bad sectors. I checked memory for faults (with windows memory diagnostic tool). Then I reinstalled vista business 32 bit and no problems. Any idea?

I have XP currently installed on partition 1 which is my first hard drive. I do custom install for windows seven and put it to partition 2 which is my other hard drive (formatted) and let it do its thing. It then tells me to restart so i do and then it goes to the logon screen and says installing/setting up windows, then shortly after that it goes to the blue screen error:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I don't get it, can someone please help me out and tell me whats wrong and how to fix this?
My computer just crashed due to the reason "IRQL less than or equal" or something along those lines, because it was only up for a second before my computer crashed. Minidump file is included in case anyone can help me. I think it might have to do with my ram, because ever since i bought it (around 2 months ago) i have crashed 4 times.

I have had this computer for only a short time and it is brand new. My laptop is an HP Pavilion and has 8g of ram and 750 hard drive. I have been getting a lot of blue screens that usually say "Driver IRQL Not Less Or Equal." I have also been having audio problems. There is a static sound over any audio that I play. I have contacted HP (Hp laptop) and I was told to update the audio driver, but nothing was fixed. I have also been having issues with the battery not locking properly as if there is not enough room for everything to fit. I am a college student and cannot afford to send anything in for repairs.
My computer has been crashing alot lately. I get BSOD within a few minutes of using my computer. Earlier than this I had issues with my internet connection, even when using an ethernet cable. My network adapter would get a Code(10) saying it couldnt start, so I tried downloading a newer driver. I tried several times to update it but I was told it was up to date. Then I uninstalled it, also tried changing the settings so windows wouldnt automatically install, but I still have trouble. A lot of the BSOD occur if I am trying to use the internet. I tried updating my display driver as well, but the NVIDIA installer keeps saying the install failed. I tried downloading the newest BIOS from the manufacturers site, but I got BSOD special_pool_detected_memory_corruption.
What is also strange is that only a few days ago I moved my computer to my bfs place, and prior to the move I've only encountered windows freezing once in a while. Then after maybe two or three days of use, we started getting crashing. So we tried moving my files and doing a clean recovery in a desperate attempt to make it all go away. Then I tried looking on the internet for people with similar problems, but it all just seems so specific. I also turned on Driver Verifier as it should apparently give more useful dumps or something. I have changed nothing on my computer, other than doing a recovery a few months ago and now hooking my computer up to his monitor, mouse and keyboard. And I think the computer is outside warranty too.
