Windows 7 Update Broke All Usb?

After a recent windows 7 update all my usb devices stopped working completely. The computer seems to see there are devices plugged in but does not know what to do with them. Trouble shooter seems to lead nowhere & google doesn't seem to have a real anwer for the problem.I reversed the updat4e at one point to have all the issue go, but it soon updated again and the same problem came up again.Its 64bit windows 7 home premium OS. A recent Medion computer, im not sure of a model number or anything.

I brought win 7 family pack downloaded from microsoft. Windows 7 home Premium full not upgrade. Created iso disks 32bit and 64bit. Have product keys for both. The 64 bit disk is broke went onto my account at microsoft store not in purchase history. How can I download a copy of windows 7 that will work with my product key. Clicked on a link on these forums, downloaded and installed but it says key invailed. Have not put key etc on forum dont know if should or not.

I just built my computer and installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM. It works fine for a couple of days, when the motherboard starts to malfunction. Eventually it breaks and I have to return it and get it replaced (with the same motherboard, same model, same everything...)I've heard as long as I have the same model motherboard, I should be able to transfer Windows, even if it is an OEM version. If this is the case, how do I transfer it?

Recently, upgraded W7 home premium to SP1 via windows updater. No errs occurred/reported during upgrade... rebooted and "wallah"... no icons visible anywhere, and StartMenu functionality is nonexistent by keyboard or mouse-click. Reverted to an earlier restore point, but unfortunately that move cost me IPv4 functionality and i could not pull IPs.. spent a couple hours trying to restore my net adapters (netsh interface ipv4 install, et.al.), drivers, etc, with no success.... so i imported via USB the SP1 from M$ (W6.1-KB976932-X64) and recommitted myself to stupidity, i mean to the upgrade... IPv4 restored, but no icons, no StartMenu function.I remember a similar problem with an XP upgrade that required altering Registry values in REGEDIT.. but i cannot find those notes.

is there a way to reinstall wordpad? check add/remove and checked m$.... the error i get whenever i try to open wordpad is "Unable to create document" feels like rights issue, but.when just opening wordpad? is it trying to locate a temporary folder or something, and cannot?

Love 7 so far! But today I needed to access a share (\servernameshare) but when I went to type it, it came up cannot connect. We're on a domain with AD, and noticed in eventvwr that GP not processing:
The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \internal.domainSysVolinternal.domainPolicies{5682A7A2-6BAE-4655-8DB6-7CAF8ECC6042}gpt.ini from a domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings may not be applied until this event is resolved. This issue may be transient and could be caused by one or more of the following:
a) Name Resolution/Network Connectivity to the current domain controller.
b) File Replication Service Latency (a file created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller).
c) The Distributed File System (DFS) client has been disabled.
Also would not map network drives. Anyways, ended up doing a system restore to a known working point in time, and that seemed to work, until I rejoined the computer to domain (since it had lost the trust relationship because of the system restore), but after a few group policies processed, and a couple critical updates were installed, it broke again. So now I unplug from the network at bootup, login, then plug network back in, and it seems to be a workaround for now, but hopefully it's only a temporary one. Anyone have any ideas?

a few days ago on boot up my laptop restarted and then attempted windows repair. came back to life. tonight while viewing Internet my screen went black. i had to hold the power button down to restart. i chose start windows normally. when attempting to load windows i got a blue screen saying "attemp to restart display driver has timed out". after a few attempts i have managed to get it into safe mode and deleted the nvidia graphics driver. restarted and all was fine (low resolution). i installed the graphix driver again an it happened again. is my graphics card broke?

the nvidia driver does not detect my graphix card so i have to add it in the setup information file. but i have had no problems for about nine month since i bought this laptop second hand.
i joined this site for another problem a few days ago. slow speeds and constant hdd access but had a good clean out and was going to see how it went. then this happened. i do not think they are related.

how i can reinstall my main audio drivers so they stay installed and so i don't have to uninstall and reinstall them at every startup. it still says it's in use if i try to test it before reinstalling. to reinstall it i've been going to playback devices, right click properties, click properties on the new window, change settings on the next, last window click the driver tab and uninstall. then i go to device manager and scan for changes. it's really a pita DISREGARD THIS: ok so i've been trying to port audio from firefox to reaper + asio4all and found that i can do it with VAC. i first tried another program called virtual audio streaming but that didn't work. when i got VAC i uninstalled VAS first. since i've had VAC installed i can't listen to anything over my monitor's speakers (have computer hooked to monitor with hdmi). if i have "Digital Audio (hdmi)" set as the default audio device, the audio won't even start. for example if a start a movie in vlc and then realize there's no sound i can't just switch the default device to something else (usually can do this) i have to stop the video select a different device and start the video again. flash stuff online just won't play until i change the device. if i try to go to the properties of "Digital Audio (hdmi)" > advanced > and hit test it tells me the device is being used by another program. this was making me think that maybe it was because VAC was using that device to port the audio from windows or something. didn't really make complete sense but i uninstalled VAC, restarted my pc and it still does the same thing. i tried uninstalling the drivers (windows default drivers, the downloadable drivers IDT high def audio cause problems with other programs so i don't use them and would prefer not to) and restarting so they would reinstall but that did nothing.

I'm out of ideas. I've been running Win 7 on this machine for more than a year without issues in updating etc. Now it will not search or update/install critical items. I'm running Symantec (even tried turning the firewall off without any success). I get an error code 80072F7C. When I run hijackthis, I get an error message that my system denied write access to the Hosts file. I proceed with the scan but am unable to produce a log file. I've included a screenshot from the windows update error as well as the error I get when trying to run hijack this.

The update is called:
nvidia - Graphics adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Other hardware - NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M.
After installing it, whenever my laptop tries to use the Nvidia card, I get a blue screen and the system restarts. I looked in installed updates to uninstall it, and it is not there. I did a system restore to four days before I installed it, and I still get the same effect. Lastly, I installed some older nvidia drivers that used to work using the clean install option, and I still have this problem.

A while back, after successfully downloading and installing some updates in the Windows Update, it prompted me to restart the computer to finish the update installation process. However, I continued to use the computer for quite some time before restarting it, and then when it tried to configure the updates on the start-up screen, it showed that it was not successful in doing so. In the past, I noticed that this would typically happen when I did not restart the computer immediately (or within a short time) after the updates finished and I got the prompt to restart. I would have to go to Windows Update and do it over again, and then upon immediate restart, it would always work properly. But this time, it did not, and I keep getting the 8000FFFF error message instead.
Also, now, every time I start the computer, it shows that it's "Preparing to configure Windows... Do not shut off computer" (presumably the updates that never got completely and correctly configured) in the start-up screen... gets to 35%..fails... shuts down (screen goes black)... restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, shuts down and restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, and finally it apparently gives up and says "reverting changes" and finally goes to the desktop.I've looked at the answers in several threads at the answers.microsoft.com forum that were started by people with similar problems, and also tried several of the Microsoft "FixIt" files on the Microsoft site, but none of them worked. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium.

My windows update does not like to load! It takes a very long time and sometimes causes explorer to crash! When I checked, I had 92 updates to install. When I click download and install, it would freeze and stay there for a long time. I tried to use the Fix it application, however that gets stuck on "Checking Online for Updates" as well! What should I do? I also tried to update in safe mode, but it wouldn't let me.

I use iTunes because I have an ipod touch, iTunes wants me to update it before i will sync my ipod touch. It won't update it tells me to download only the update threw the software, I've done a google search and no one that posted a fix had one that worked, i've have this issue before and i tried to uninstall and reinstall itune and nothing worked.

I have an HP Dx7500 that run perfectly.Before making any change i made a checkpoint for future restore. Than i update my AHCI driver (Instead regular IDE) to "Intel ICH/10R SATA AHCI controller" and windows update can't run, no error.. just clicking and nothing move.I fix it for now with system restore.. but i want my hardware to be most updated.

Previously i used Auslogic Boostspeed to optimize my computer. Instead it backfired and deleted my System 32. After i reinstalled my Windows normally and got my programs fixed i can't update through Windows Update. Nor can i reinstall or unistall Microsoft Word 2010. OK, first I have to say I am a complete piker with this stuff. If I have to do anything that requires changing the BIOS or registry or anything like that, I am gonna have to pay someone to fix this.OK, here is my problem. I did an update of Windows last week, which included two critical fixes (I think both were related to .NET) and two "optional" security updates. I updated, rebooted, and now Windows Update no longer works: the icon is missing from the menu item, and when I click it nothing happens. The Windows Update service is running; tried restarting that as well. Tried a .NET cleanup utility, but all that seemed to do was remove or break one of the .NET version installations (a game that uses .NET complained after running the utility, and stopped complaining after I manually re-installed .NET 3.5 and updates).

My Samsung series 3 laptop has been sending out popup messages telling me I need a bios update, I go to the Samsung software update site and this bios update has been failing, I have made several calls and chats to techs at Samsung who tell me to do what I have already done, they tell to ask for tier 2 tech, who can go in my computer and fix it , When I finally got a tier 2 tech, they told me the same thing, I told him what I had been told about him and what he could do, He said, is it working , I said yes, but settings on computer change on their own,like wifi turns itself on and that concerns me. Anyway, He said that it didn't need a bios update,even the Samsung website said this computer needed a bios update. I recently went from Windows XP to Windows 7. I followed all instructions and completed the change. Now my display is so huge it does not fit on the screen. From readiing post on here, it seems that this is aproblem with the graphics driver? I have followed all suggestions and cannot change anything by right clicking on the desktop. The setting is on 100% and I have 800x600 256 color which will not allow me to change it. I have a Gateway E52 300X, serial # 0031758993 desktop with a Brookdale GGreaphics Chip Acceleration VGA BIO, 8 Bit, 0.0, 832 KB, I have tried to update via intel website but cannot even get the site to check my computer for updates because the internet explorere stops working when I try. And, I have tried many times, I have an Itel Celeran CPU 2.40 GHZ with 2 GB of ram. I would like to increase the speed on this computer but don't even know what to do or if this is all related. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Oh, also, my on screen text as I am typing now is purple and green???

I am trying to run the SP1 update (x64) for Windows 7 and after it finishes with 'preparing to install' an error message pops up saying, 'laptop is running on battery power please plug in to the mains to continue install.' error code 800F0829.The thing is I have connected to the mains and it still comes up saying this error and won't retry the installation. I have tried charging the battery to full and running the update, plugging the mains in when asked/not asked etc but nothing seems to work?

The wife's laptop hardly used, and been setting and has been setting for about 7 months. She finally decided she wants to learn/use it. I have been trying to get everything updated, and a few programs automatically popped up for updates and were successfully. However I can't get the Windows updates to run it says, Windows update can't check for updates because the service in not running. Try rebooting. That didn't work.I ran MrFixitit, another fix from microsoft and nada. I checked the services and the update one is running and on auto. I tried shutting it off and back on, set it to run automatically and auto with delay. Rebooting between any change. The computer has only been on line 7 months ago to update the programs, including win7 and has no virus's.

But i am just wondering if uac popping up during windows update can affect anything? i decided to install some programs during the update and uac popped up balnking out the screen and making it appear that it froze the updates. Then some of the updates failed. So does windows update affect aything? if so ill install again.
