I am not sure if this is linked to my attempt to restrict my computers ability to sleep and/or hibernate while I am backing up my ipod to a network drive. (When it sleeps it stops the process).
I have a laptop, running Win 7, that has worked fine for well over a year. All of a sudden, it won't run for more than about 10 minutes before it randomly shuts down and restarts. Here's the error log that popped up last time it did this:

I am having this problem every time that I start flashget to download files over the night.Every morning I wake up there is unexpected shutdown.I noticed when I am using flashget for a long time the memory usage going up and up and I think when it goes to 4GB there is a system shutdown.
How do I fix this problem on my Windows 7 desktop computer? this is what's been happening since last weekend! and I've only had my computer since the summer of 2011?
Three days ago I found the computer safe mode with the message: Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown...and so on...Computer then would boot normally, but after a few minutes the monitor would go black. After shutting down with the button, the boot sequence would read Windows did not shut down normally...From there I got it to boot normally a couple of times, but after a few minutes a single mouse-click on something would kill the monitor again...eventually it would only boot into safe mode -- by itself. The graphics deteriorated to a more pixelated fuzzy mess, and suddenly even before the OS started it was low resolution I upgraded the driver to the latest (clean install) and last night things seemed fine. I left it on all night and this morning everything was fine and it worked great...for a few minutes. System Restore didn't help (grasping at straws here) but in Safe Mode With Networking everything seems just as it should (for safe mode, that is...). I am going to try to reset the card but I'm wondering if I'm correct in thinking it's probably the graphics card?

I have Dell Laptop M1530...Just upgrade from Vista home premium to window 7 Home Premium couple weeks ago.
Now when I turn on my Laptop it suddenly shut down by it self and when re-started it up and it shutdown by itself again, and again, messege said : "window has recovered from an unexpected shutdown in window 7".
I got problem windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown after sleep when i was playing League of Legends about 15-30 min after that went to sleep, then restart and pop up it say windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown.
Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. A problem has caused windows to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available. This happens multiple times a day... generally in the background. What do you recommend? All my drivers seem to be OK in the Device Mgr.
I have a brand new Desktop PC - running Windows 7 - 8gb ram - iTB HD and I have to say it is running perfectly well. However, when I shut it down yesterday I noticed that the PC restarted itself and stated ' windows had recovered from an unexpected shut down' blue screen, and it gave me details of a mini dump file for the error. The mini dump file is empty so nothing reported there. In the event log it states the issue was 'kernel' as follows: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. My husband suggested I shut down too soon before allowing ie to close properly.
If I leave the netbook on battery and go to sleep/go out/whatever, when I come back it will be off. After plugging it in and powering it on. It will say it is resuming windows, and then I get the "windows has recovered from unexpected shutdown" after Windows is started. I'm not having any problems with Windows, but this message is annoying. Theoretically when the battery hits 5% remaining, windows will gracefully hibernate and I can resume it without any problems.
I don't understand this. After a BSOD and reboot, why are the only options in the window that appears 'Check Later' (which never happens when I choose it) or 'Cancel'. No 'Check Now' option?? How is this window supposed to work?
Brand new Dell Inspiron running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit... when I come in the morning, or when out for extended periods I come back and get error message... attached is the text from the log report: Problem signature: Problem Event Name:lueScreen OS Version: [CODE]
I am receiving the message that my computer has recently recovered from an unexpected shutdown. Actually it is happening on two of my PCs that are both running Windows 7 and Office 2007. Both are aslo running Avast for virus protection. One PC was purchased about 3 months ago and the other is over 3 years old so I do not believe this is a driver issue. The problem began on both machines immediately after each received the latest updates from Microsoft although they received them on different days. These updates contained 16 patches that were mostly critical security updates and none contained driver updates. The attached dump files are from the newer of the two PCs.
I just recently got my new cpu and it is shutting down with this error 5+ times a day. I read through new post protocol and have uploaded a ZIP with all necessary info.
My PC turns on at 6AM to get updates etc. Waking it up a couple of hours later I often find "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shut down". I've never actually seen the BSOD.I'm fairly obsessive about getting the latest updates and drivers.Files attached as per this notice, plus report from WhoCrashed. Windows 7 Professional x64Retail Upgrade - upgraded from itself!Age of system: varies, mostly <18 monthsAge of install: Windows folder created 14
Well July 1st when I woke up I found that my computer restarted and said that it recovered from an unexpected error and I sent the data to Microsoft and they gave me this solution. Solve a problem with your PC. You received this message because hardware or software on your computer caused Windows to shut down unexpectedly and restart. This is a serious problem, commonly referred to as a stop error. If you've received this error more than once, we recommend that you do the following:
-Back up your files to avoid data loss in case of a complete hardware failure. - Contact the original manufacturer of your computer to determine the specific component which is failing.
How do I find my computer manufacturer?
- Click the Start button , type msinfo32 in the search box, and then press Enter. Your computer manufacturer is listed as the System Manufacturer in the right pane of the System Information window. - Click to go online to see contact info for most computer manufacturers - Additional technical info
Although we know the problem is caused by a hardware component, the error report doesn't contain enough info to tell us the specific component. It's likely that the problem is being caused by one of the following computer components:
- Random access memory (RAM) - System board - Central Processing Unit (CPU) - Power supply
Today i am surfing internet and suddenly a screen comes (i couldn't read it because it was for just 2 or 3 sec) and then windows restart in safe mode. This has happened to For 3 times in 2 days attaching the files.
I am running a 3 year old Sony Vaio, Win7 Sp1, home edition and recently it has been shutting down randomly (not restarting) when I am running games (99% of the time I am on the laptop is when I am running games So I cannot say if this shut-down issue will or will not occur if I just kept the system idle). I have never had this problem until a few days ago when I experienced a BSOD (which happened to me before so I thought it was no big deal), and from that point my laptop began to shut down randomly (just crashes, no BSOD), sometimes within a few minutes, sometimes after a few hours of use.
"WhoCrashed" failed to generate any reports (I ran the crash test, it works fine) and after checking my computers event viewer, there was multiple occurrences of the "event 41 Kernel, Windows was rebooted after an unexpected shutdown" critical error. I browsed the internet looking for possible causes of this, and have taken the following actions:
1. Sending in my laptop for repairs (new thermal paste and heatsink cleaning), the core temp when running games tops out around 60-65C which is nowhere near the level needed for a overheat shutdown 2. Testing my GPU temp, (around 50-60C) once again no where near the level needed for overheat (I am running a Nvidia Geforce GT 330M with updated drivers) 3. Multiple Chkdsks 4. Checked system, power, performance, battery etc with Vaio Care 5. Tested it unplugged and plugged on battery 6. Toning down my power plan's maximum processor usage, changing system cooling policy 7. Reinstalling service pack 8. Cleaning out registry with CCleaner 9. Planning on doing a memory test
After all this, the problem still occurs. I am not sure if it is a hardware problem or something else I am probably going to do a repair install on WIN7 to see if that will fix anything.
I would use the pc and sometimes it would randomly shutdown unexpectedly then the pc would turn back on.This issue happens randomly and not often but randomly it would occur.
