Basically I've got a question about the uninstall feature with windows 7. See, I just tried out windows 8 and noticed that the uninstall window only had the two programs which I had manually installed, Firefox and Xfire.Windows 7 has all the programs I install, just seems like there are duplicates. Here's a screenshot of part of my uninstall window.
I am wondering why some of my installed programs do not show up in control paneluninstall programs, am also wondering if there is away to make the list of programs in unistall programs show up in alphabetical order. Also if I cannot uninstall programs any other way does it create any potential problems if I just delete the folder(s) containing the program?
When you go to your User Account , open Control Panel and click on Install/Uninstall, does it list programs that the User Account downloaded or does it list programs for all accounts, including Administrator Account Downloads?
i have tried to remove avast av using control panel uninstall, revo uninstaller and tried stopping it at start up using msconfig.i just cannot get rid of it any ideas?
I've tried installing the OS two times, both times my video card has not been recognized. It was properly recognized in the following builds: 7000, 7048, 7057, 7068, 7077. I've tried using ATi Catalyst and also used the following process suggested on techPowerUp! Forums - Powered by vBulletin with no luck:
1, Uninstall existing drivers through Control Panel, reboot in safe mode and run Driver Sweeper to clean up, then:
2, Go here and download the 61.1mb package
3, Go here and download Mobility Modder the install it
4, Go here to download the update, and extract the file into the Mod Tool Directory, overwriting the previous file
5, Run the ATI driver package you downloaded earlier, then cancel after it has been extracted (when you see a black window with orange buttons)
6, Run the Mobility Modder, pointing to the driver folder e.g: C:ATISupport 9_3_vista 64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu
7, When complete, close mobility modder, navigate yourself to the above folder and run setup.exe
8, Go to C:ATISupport9_3_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu DriverPackagesDriversDisplay LH6A_INF
9, At the end it will most likely fail, however, before rebooting, go to device manager, right click and and click update driver, click browse my computer for software, then click browse and point to:C:ATISupport9_ 3_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriverPackages DriversDisplayLH6A_INF
10, Click next and it should install the driver. Reboot and all should be okay!
The program in question was stored in drive D which is a partition of my main drive. Even CC cleaner cant even find the program. So how do I get rid of the program? I can't just delete it to free up space cant i?
I'm running Windows 7 (64bit) and made the mistake of installing an old version of Cyberlink PowerDVD, only to discover it's incompatible with Windows 7. So I have been trying to uninstall it to no avail. I've read some other posts online and they are very technical for me to follow. Anybody have a solution they can put forth in layman's terms. I'm not afraid of going in the Registry; I just need to know exactly what to do to fully uninstall this program! Then ... I promise I'll use Windows Media Center to play my DVDs!
I am unable to open "Uninstall a program" through control panel. Every time when I try to open it, I get the following error message"
"Windows cannot find '::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683}...:{7B81BE6A-CE2B-4676-A29E-EB907A5126C5}' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again".
However, I can open this in safe mode. Unsure why this is the case. I use Win 7 64bit.
I deleted the whole iTunes folder from my computer, and since I did that when I go to uninstall it in the control panel, it cannot find the file so it won't uninstall and I tried to re-install it but it's not working. I use Windows 7 Starter.

I had Windows XP on one of my laptops and installed Windows 7 on a seperate partition to see how it would cope. Well.... it doesn't cope at all.I have the dual boot screen when I start the laptop and the default is of course the last O/S system loaded. i.e. Windows 7.Unless I am quick enough to change the bootup, it tries to load Windows 7. And when I say tries, I mean 'tries'. Windows will load after about 20 minutes but is unusable. Nothing will respond. Nothing will function.I cannot change the boot sequence on XP. I have to 'be in' Windows 7 environment to edit the boot sequence, but I cannot get there. How do I either competely uninstall 7 or at the very least change the boot sequence without 'loading' Windows 7?
One of my friend, who has windows 7 x64 enabled in his laptop, lost his administrator password and then, panicked and installed another windows 7, partitioning his disk drive. Now, he has access to this newly installed windows 7 OS, but he can't log on to his old windows 7 OS, which has all his important files and other media. he says " I see an error related to the memory when i try to load my old windows 7 OS " and then.
My Windows 7 Pro Control Panel is crashing on start up, and I did a new install!!, BUT everything else works fine but it just bugs me o.0 and I'm forced to do this to get to my add/remove,

That's the ONLY way to get to the control panel for now for me, and this was a downloaded Windows 7 Pro upgrade.
Cannot access control panel items on Windows 7...Pop up message shows c:WINDOWSsystem32 undell32.exe Application not found..Lost without control panel features. Is correction fix to activate control panel possible?..
I have an Acer 5741 running W7, all ok until few days ago.Now disc seems to be always busy doing something, and all actions slower and the busy rotating circle is often displayed.Control Panel opens but most CP links do not now respond eg View devices, uninstall a program. Some applications briefly open (via their desktop shortcut) but then their window auto closes and they disappear, eg Open Office, firefox, IE8, Fastone (with mssg has stopped working), Advanced System Care (ditto), FinePix (ditto). These appns do not appear in Task Manager either. Have tried access via wifi and direct connect but same results and even tried Firefox in Safe mode.Other appns are still however ok eg Adobe, Avast, Task Mgr, Crap Cleaner, Threatfire, Free Commander, Photocopier, Windows Defender.I have rolled back W7 to before when problem started but no improvement. It seems to me that its a W7 problem rather than the appns
I have problem with my panel. After microsoft windows update panel just dont work, I can't even turn off lights at my lycosa, everything else is working right. This just happened after update and I dont know how to turn it on again. I think there where some settings which allow using such a panel. All drivers are ok, even razer macros works. Is there, in windows any option to turn on/off multimedia panel?

So basically, a couple days ago, I installed a new ASUS Mobo, Intel CPU and Vengence RAM. But when I tried to boot into Windows 7, it would act like it was loading just fine, and then get a BSOD so quick that I couldn't read it, and fail to boot (I do not have an OEM copy of Windows). With not many options, I decided to reinstall Windows to fix my problem. And in that install screen, it listed all of my HDDs, without letters. I was like "uh-oh, which one is it?" So, I pick one, and it's the wrong one. But, instead of removing Windows from what was my D drive and now is my C drive, I'd like to just remove Windows 7 (the still corrupted one) from my now D drive. Is that making any sense? lol So anyway, I know that you can't just "uninstall windows", and I've read about just deleting the file folders... but that I have to give myself permissions to do it. Of course, I can't seem to do that. I have several to choose from, including "trustedinstaller" "creatorowner" "System" "Administrators" nothing seems to work. They even have full access and permission, and when I try to delete the Windows folder, it says "you must have permission to continue" I click okay, it continues, and then says it can't delete the folder. When I try to give permission to one of those names, it denies access for the Windows folder.Oh, also, formatting is really out of the question, as this D drive has all my precious files on it that I can't lose. But, I do have enough space to maybe partition it, copy it all over, and then format the windows partition?
in XP, we have those $uninstall files after Windows Update each time. i can delete them to free space, then i go to add/remove to remove the update, it will say something that the uninstall file is no longer exist so i can remove the relevant entry from Add/Remove completely.
