Oct 29, 2012I was working on an email Saturday when my Sony Vaio stopped working & flipped over to the black & white Vaio screen. Since then, I've been able to reboot it once, but it flips right back over to the Vaio screen. At one point, I was able to get to the Advanced Boot Options menu by hitting F8. I tried to restore to the last known good configuration. It got to the Windows logo screen, then went back to the Vaio screen, then went to the "Operating System could not be found" screen.The computer has a One Touch Web Access Without Booting Up feature.

Apr 30, 2011All drivers for hardware are up to date and installed. To be specific on the keys that do not work they are Alphabetical and Numerical keys only, the escape key, tilde key, tab, caps lock, shift, space etc all work... The wierd thing is that the numpad will not respond ingame if num lock is on, If it is off the buttons work BUT it recognizes them as Insert, Page down, Home, Delete etc. What driver or peice of hardware could possibly cause this problem. This problem occurs in Counter Strike Source and Starcraft II, havent tried any others but the problem is identical in the two games. If however i pull up the developer console i can use the keys perfectly to type a command but once im back IN GAME they just dont respond. When i tried to change my key bindings it cycles through numbers 0-9 doesnt matter if i press X 3 times then P 7 times it will go in a sequence of 0-9.

Basically, whenever I play games the letter keys registers as numbers. For example, if I keep pressing Q, it would register as 1, then 2, then 3, all the way back to 0 and then to 1 again. I don't know what causes this problem.
The way I figured this out is when I am trying to do hotkeys it would do that. So basically I can't play any games because it does this.
This isn't a numlock problem or a keyboard region problem, by the way.
CPU Temp Over 80 Degrees C?

When in idle, it rarely drops below 80 degrees, and when playing/browsing/basically multitasking and the CPU usage goes over 50%, it peaks to 105, 106, 107 degrees. Jun 10, 2012Game worked fine for the beta and even for a week or two after launch. Randomly (not on a patch day), the game started crashing. Now it crashes after 2 or 3 minutes in the game almost every time. I've followed all the regular troubleshooting steps (see Battle.net thread here). At first I didn't see any error logs, but the Action Center came up today with a bunch of errors looking like this. Jun 30, 2009I installed Windows 7 RC a few days ago and I am very happy with it except for one thing, and that's when playing games.
When I have played for some time (it's totally random) the screen goes black and it refuses to display the image again, tried unplugging it from graphics card, turn off power and nothing helps. The sound continues but nothing else respond.
This happens in all games i've tried this far (Prototype, Overlord II, Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood). It never happens when I'm simply using Windows or programs, only when I play games. Windowed Mode also seems to work without the screen going black, but unfortunately all games doesn't have an option to play in windowed mode.
I have all updates from Windows Update installed, latest graphics drivers and DirectX. The graphics card is quite hot when I touch it, so is it possible that Windows 7 is very sensitive to this? I never had this problem in Vista and it appeared right after i formated the harddrive and installed Windows 7 RC.
Flickering Screen While The Movies Are Playing
Aug 1, 2009i have got windows 7 ultimate 32bt 6.1 build 7600 and i have got a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5355.
I have just installed Civilization 4 and when it loads the screen flickers blue while the movies are playing and then when its on the main menu it flickers but not a blue screen just its all weird.
I can remember last week Windows Update updated my SIS mirage 3 graphics driver and i have had windows 7 installed for about 2 weeks now.
Does anyone know what the problem might be?
Games Not Playing In Full Screen?
Feb 5, 2012I use samsung SF411 14.9 inch along with windows 7 home premium 64bit.recently i have installed nfs MW. but when i cannot play this game with full screen. i get black bars on each side of the screen..Go to ATI CATALYST Applicaton:
- Graphics/Desktop & Display/ click triangle button in big Screen Model and press "Properties" option
- now change resolution to lower one.(in my lapy i have changed it from 1366x768 to 1280x720.)
- Save & Exit. 2)now again go to ATI CATALYST Application
- Graphics/Desktop & Display/ this time click on bottom left small Laptop icon's triangle from where u can get to "Configure" option

Expand Screen Display When Playing?
May 5, 2012so since I updated my laptop to Windows 7 I've been having some trouble playing in full screen mode. Everytime I launch a game 2 black bars pop up on the right and left side of the screen not allowing to display the entire screen section. Below I send a picture of what really happens:

Games Not Playing On Full Screen
Jun 6, 2010My previous operating system (Vista Home Premium) crashed and I lost everything. I also misplaced the installation disc so I just decided to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything works fine aside from the games don't accommodate the full desktop screen even though it is already set to full mode. I can see black screen on both left and right sides of the screen. I already searched this forum for the solutions but still no luck. My laptop is Dell Inspiron 125 and my processor is Intel Core 2 Duo.

Mar 7, 2012I recently upgraded my motherboard,cpu and ram and did a format and a fresh install of Win 7 ultimate 64, well as the title suggests i can no longer play anything because it blue screens at any given chance. mainly error code 3b but i have had the odd 4e ,edit: there is also a 050 error now aswell.

Black Screen Of Death When Playing Games
May 19, 2012When I launch either of 2 games (Borderlands and The Secret World), after a while, the screen will go dark and most of the time I'll hear a high pitched wine, I'll restart the PC and everything is usually good. I say usually because in the last 2 days, when booting up, I'll get to the screen that says "Starting windows" or the desktop is about to be displayed and the screen goes dark.
The SSD firmware has been updated to the latest; I worked with Kingston to do this. In the BIOS, the drive is configured to use Raid (XHD) and the drive is physically connected to the SATA3 port.
I have tried physically connecting it to a SATA2 for the firmware upgrade along with changing from Raid (XHD) to ACHI to IDE. When I run the program Speccy, it says that the status of S.M.A.R.T is bad and running Crystal Disk Info, it says Unknown for the disk health and other fields.
