Webcam Gateway M-6864fx Drivers
i have recently upgraded to windows 7 ultimate x64 and i have a gateway m-6864 fx, laptop and unfortunately the drivers that i have (video, sound, card reader) are still lacking, i am looking for the webcam driver as i am away at school and use it all the time with my buddies over skype and msn, anyways if anyone knows where i can find it, i have been on the site and no dice, also if there is a third party application that i could use that would work for skype and msn, that would be perfect.

Gateway M-6864FX Webcam Problem
I have a Gateway M-6864FX laptop, which has a built-in Chicony Webcam. Now, with Vista Ultimate x64 installed, the Webcam software and drivers work properly, But in Windows 7 Ultimate, the Webcam is net detected at all, even in the Device Manager. Has anyone encountered hardware that is not detected such as this? It is a real Deal-Breaker for keeping Windows 7 as I cannot use my Webcam that came with the laptop! Any help greatly appreciated, and if more info is requested, I'll do my best to provide it.

Default Webcam Drivers
currently have Windows 7 RC 64bit installed but have come across only one problem so far. A webcam i have that was pretty cheap and cheerful had appauling drivers that came with it but when installed on 32bit vista with the drivers vista found itself it worked awesomely, even better than when it was using the drivers that came with the hardware. But the thing is after plugging it in on Windows 7 there doesnt appear to be a compatible driver for basic cam fuctionality.

Drivers For Logitech Webcam Zoom
I have a Logitech Webcam Zoom (the white and blue model). It is USB connected. Windows 7 only detects it as unknown USB device. I found some discussion on the internet for a workaround..... - install an old driver/softwer - then install a new driver/software With that, I now have the webcam detect/showup correctly on Device Manager. The webcam seems to be functioning ok with the Logitech Quick Capture software. But I couldn't get it to work with LiveMessenger. Any idea?

Philips Webcam Drivers Not Supported
I have a webcam that worked decently in windows xp. Sadly it's a cheap Phillips model whose website says vista drivers won't be supported. I'm wondering if there is any way to get the xp driver to work for it. I've been hearing alot about this "xp mode", might it work for hardware too or is it just a virtual environment for software? Is it a lost cause? Is there perhaps a way to install the xp driver files by hand? I'm hoping that the installer just doesn't put them in the right place ... or are there innate differences in how a webcam driver would work from xp to Win7? I'm running the 64bit RC from the microsoft site... 7100 i guess.

The Default Gateway Is Not Available
Every time my computer comes back from sleep mode my Internet doesn't work and I get this. Issues found "The connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the Internet is broken" and, "The default gateway is not available" All my other 3 computers stay connected just fine; including my Xbox 360. why is this happening? I have Comcast connected to a D-Link (DIR-615 version B2 ) After the Windows Network Diagnostics solves the problem by Reseting the "Local Area Connection" adapter. Default Gateway Changes After Reboot
I am having problems with my internet connection. I am running a pc behind a router with DHCP enabled. Often when I restart the computer the computers internal IP is also set as the default gateway. My router is 192.168.1.1 My computer gets automatically IP 192.168.1.4 and then gets Default gateway of 192.168.1.4 Then I have to manually set the default gateway to 192.168.1.1 for it to work. But next time I use the computer the gateway has changed again and I have to change back. What to do? I have the latest network drivers for my nvidia mobo and running windows 7. The name of the network I am connected to also changes a lot.

Install On Gateway MX8711
I can't install Windows 7 Beta or RC on my Gateway MX8711 laptop. When I try booting from the DVD I get the following: Windows Boot Manager Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. File: BootBCD Status: 0x00000e9 Info: An unexpected I/O error has occured. I have downloaded and burned Win7 three separate times. I was able to use all of these media DVD on other computers successfully without error. I am able to successfully install Windows XP and Windows Vista on this laptop with no problems. I suspect either a BIOS or device firmware issue but i would really appreciate any help.

Network Gateway Not Detected
I've come across an unusual problem. I have a lan of 10 rigs (8 running desktop o/s's, 2 with Server o/s). On downloading my MAPS, I installed Win 7 ultimate 64 with no problems. I tried a test on my wife's machine to upgrade Vista Business to Win 7 Professional, in the safe knowledge that should it fail, I can restore her rig vis WHS. Test went smoothly & compared to problems in the past with upgrading an o/s, I am well impressed with Microsoft & the Win 7 team - Congratulations Guys. However, I decided to upgrade my main workstation & after some niggling problems with programs that stopped the upgrade process, all went well installation wise. But, for the past 36 hours, I have been having problems with it regarding local & net access. Can access the lan & web, but within a minute or 2, it loses connection to both. On running network diagnostic, it states that "Network gateway not detected". On seeing this, rather than panic & try checking settings (just in case it could be the router), checked both local & web access on other rigs on lan. All ok. Shutdown lan, cable modem & router. Reset router to factory defaults, then restarted rig that connects direct to router. Restarted Home Server & checked access via 1st rig - a.o.k. Did the same with each machine until lan fully up & running. A.ok, with the exception of workstation. This time around, I managed to stay online for approx 20 min then lost connection. Changed rj45 cable - no joy. Switched over to 2nd onboard nic - no change. however, a reboot clears the problem until it happens again.

Cannot Use Remote Desktop/TS Gateway
Somehow, I cannot access any of my company's internet services from behind my customer's Internet proxy since I've installed Windows 7 RTM. It appears as if only Internet Explorer is using the proxy settings configured there, while in Windows XP they all used the same proxy. To be clear, I can't use Outlook's Autodiscover functionality to add an Exchange server that is available over RPC/HTTP. I can't access a remote server using MSTSC over Terminal Services Gateway. And I can't open a document or folder from an external MOSS 2007 server. Strangely, nobody is complaining about this. I have no local firewall or Virus Scanner running.
