I am not sure if I am getting a full feature of graphics on my little Inspiron 700m. The specs are Intel Celeron 1.6GHz processor, 512MB memory, and 60GB HDD. I am not sure about the video specs. Could it be the driver is not yet available on Win 7?

No Sound HP Pavillion DV1000
The volume icon on the taskbar reads "No Audio Output Device is Installed". No sound whatsoever not even out of the headphone jack. HP does not make a driver update. They told me my computer is too slow to run Windows 7. Funny, because I'm running 7 as I type this! Works great, other than this issue.

If there isn't a driver, I can of course get a USB or Express card sound card, right?

Network Controller Driver Not Adapter Driver
A few days ago I did a clean install of Windows 7. Now I have a problem. The computer is a wireless 'client'. It has a Realtek RTL8168D/8111D PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20).

When I bring up Device Manager and expand 'Network adapters' I see "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller".

When I expand 'Other devices' I see "! Network Controller" (Note the exclamation point.) Double click on that and I see "The driver for this device is not installed. (Code 28). When I click on Update driver I get a message Can't find a driver. I have tried many times with different source folders and files and nowhere is a driver found.

I have gone to MSIs driver web page and downloaded the Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Driver for Windows 7 32/64 bit "realtek_pcielan_7_nb.zip", extracted the files and still no joy. (M/B is MSI G41M with Intel E7400)

There is a wireless icon in the tray. I click 'Open network and sharing center". No matter what I choose Windows 7 ends up telling me to plug in an Ethernet cable. No, this is a client not the server. I have verified that the NIC can connect to the computer with the Ethernet cable by using the old XP hard disk.

Any suggestions?

IDE Controller Driver Problems
I have a Gateway P-7811fx laptop. I did a fresh install of Windows 7 (64 bit) and now I can't seem to get my SD Card reader to work. I know that the laptop knows there's a SD card in there because when I plug it in, it pops up as "O2Micro SD Disk Device" under Disk Drives in Device Manager. But for some reason, it won't show the SD card in My Computer.

The only problem I can see is that under Storage Controllers in the Device Manager, there's a yellow exclamation point next to "AILXT4UC IDE Controller" that I cannot seem to fix.

All of my drivers seem to be updated and I cannot get any answers from Troubleshooting the problem. Anyone know what I'm experiencing and how to fix it?

Install SATA Controller Driver
I've just bought parts and collected a new PC system. My Motherboard is AsRock M3A785GXH/128 ASRock > Products > M3A785GXH/128M

and regarding to the manufacturer it should be Windows 7 hardware ready.

But I can't install Windows 7 pro 64 bit on my new system. The Windows 7 installation application can't see my harddrives and want a driver to them. I assume that should be a driver for the SATA controller on the motherboard. I've tryed to use the drivers on the motherboard cd-rom and tryed to use the drivers froms asrock homepage, but Windows 7 wont accept them.

I have contacted AsRock about this issue, but I'm wating for an answer and hoped that you guys might has seen this problem before, and will answer quicker than AsRock Support

I should say that I cant install Windows Vista Business 64bit without any problems at all.

Gigabyte GBB36X Controller Driver
I have a Gigabyte motherboard (GA-MA-790X-UD4P).  Vista Home Premium (32 bit).  I will upgrade to Windows 7 32 bit when it comes out.  My problem - I ran the MS Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and it was recommended that I upgrade the GIGABYTE GBB36X controller to make it compatible.  That was my only issue.  I asked Gigabyte, they said to get the updated driver from JTech.  I did so, installed the recommended one, ran the Advisor again, and now it says to update the JTech GBB36X controller.  I don't seem to have accomplished anything.

I'm 67 yrs old, not computer smart, and that's my dilemma.  Do any of you here have any thoughts?  I realize that the advisor thing is beta, so maybe there will be some changes?  If I do nothing more, leave well enough alone, what are the hazards?  I don't use raid, don't understand it.  I don't have any exotic hardware I don't think.  Would my PC be in danger?  This is the last OS I will ever see, can't afford to upgrade any components, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mass Storage Controller Driver Issue
I have this issue going on since i installed windows 7--32 bit on a new partition.

Firstly In the 'device manager' I see 'Mass Storage Controller' which shows me a yellow sign of exclaimation & the following message pops up when 'right clicked' on 'properties' ;''The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver''

Secondly; In the 'device manager' below the 'Mass Storage Controller' name/driver it shows a name/driver called 'Unknown Device' again with yellow sign of exclaimation as mentioned above & When 'right clicked' on its properties I get the same error message as mentioned above.

Thirdly;None of the External buttons on my laptop for web cam, volume etc present are working. They only work with my vista OS but not with windows 7.

Now What drivers do u recommend & Where can i find the specific drivers for windows 7 beta to function without any further driver issues or other issues as mentioned above

Also When i plug in my usb external hard drive it shows me a message ''Do u want to scan the drive or continue without scanning'' & i tried both the ways/methods but still my files stored in usb e.xternal hard drive drive freeze & therefore dont respond immediately when i try to view or open them. Did reinstall, update everything but couldnt solve it.

Driver For Gigabyte Onboard Raid Controller
So I installed the Windows Seven RC x64 today on my desktop machine after having a great experience on my notebook.

Most things worked out just fine, but the onboard raid controller is giving me alot of trouble (I got two hard disks connected there, should be raid0?), my mainboard is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 an this is SiSoft Sandras report on my disk controllers:

Browsing this forum I found severel interesting posts, for example I tested the drivers of Driver and I tried the mainboard drivers for Vista in compatibility mode, but nothing works. I also looked for the "ITE IT8212 ATA RAID Controller" drivers directly, but there was nothing concerning Windows Seven. After that I tried the Released: Intel Chipset Software 9.1.1.1014 but that still did not solve anything.

Can't Find Driver For SM Bus Controller
The only problem that my set up has encountered is it can't find a driver for my SM Bus Controller. I do not know the make of it. My computer is a Dell XPS 420. Everything seems to be working fine no problems so is this SM Bus Controller important?

Do I need to panic? No blue screen or anything and all equipment such as external hard drive, webcam printer etc installed and working fine! So can anyone help or doesn't this SM Bus Controller matter?

Sil 3112a RAID Controller Driver
I was recently deploying Windows 7 on an older PC(not too old) and in the upgrade proccess it said setup could not continue and rolled back my upgrade. I suspect that it is because of the raid, because it stopped in the middle of the expanding files stage.

The driver version on there is 1.0.0.62, which I believe is the most recent for vista, so can I rule this out as a reason. Theres 50GB free for upgrade.

Event ID 11: Driver Detected A Controller Error
Today I was looking at Windows event report and I noted 5 errors indicating the hard disk as source.

The error said: Event ID 11: driver detected a controller error on Device DeviceHarddisk1DR2.

All errors occurred 07-06-2009 every some seconds. In that moment, I think system was at suspend mode, but I'm not sure. Anyway I didn't noticed any strange or instability.

Two weeks ago I used Seatool to check for errors and both, short and advanced test were passed.

Today I ran Seatool again but only short test and again passed.

I also tested with chkdsk/r to check boot sectors and no errors.

Tomorrow I'll do an extended test again but I think it'll go okay too.

Driver Problem / IDE Controller Issue
These devices might not work properly after the upgrade. Before upgrading, we recommend updating the drivers for these devices. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel and search for "update device drivers", or go to the device manufacturer's website to search for updated drivers.

Storage controllers: A9B63IK4 IDE Controller

I got this message when I was beginning to upgrade my windows Vista 32bit to Windows 7 32bit. I think this has to do with my hard drive, so I'm apprehensive to continue the installation process until I know what exactly the problem is. My driver is updated according to the device manager. Does anyone have a similar issue? Should I be worried about this? Should I hold of on the install?

HP Pavilion Zt3000 Network Controller Driver
there is no way to get into the Internet. I tried almost everything like using XP drivers and stuff, even installing in the compatibility mode. But still there is no way - not wired and not wireless.
I suppose that my computer doesn't provide any vista drivers because it's way to old.

any suggestions to solve that problem apart from just using a different machine;)
