When I try to install Win Live Essentials 2011 I receive the message "You already have different build flavor of Windows Live" "If you want to install this version, first uninstall the version that is installed on your computer." When I try and uninstall the current version the win live uninstall window list all the apps and itself as not being able to uninstallable..
I uninstalled Windows Live Essentials 2011 through Programs and Features. It left several folders in the Registry and Windows Live Mail on the HD. Although I own and granted permission for the Live Mail folders, these "trusted installer" files will not delete. After uninstalling programs in past OS, I have always gone into the Registry and manually cleaned out remaining files that were not uninstalled. I would like to do the same for the remains of Windows Live Essentials in the Registry, but because it has "Windows" in the name, I am reluctant to remove from the Registry...... I am not sure if it is linked to anything else. I have CCleaner, but apprehensive about using in the Registry. Can some wise person let me know if I manually remove Windows Live Essentials and its family folders from the Registry the sky will not fall down (that said, I don't know if the trusted installer folders on the HD and in the Registry will allow removal)
I want to remove Microsoft Security Essentials from my notebook. I went to Control Panel > Programs and Features > right clicked on Microsft Security Essentials and poped-up said Uninstall. I clicked on Uninstall and it said, "An error has prevented Microsoft Security Essentials Startup Wizard from completing successfully." What should I do to uninstall MS Security Essentials?
My mother in law got a new computer with windows 7 and windows live essentials. She has windows live email. She cannot send or receive email and the password box keeps coming up asking for her account name and password which she cannot remember. Can windows live essentials be removed from the computer and be reinstalled and clear this up? She is 80 years old so I am trying to correct this for her.
I ask because I have uninstalled the programme via the Control Panel but when I try to reinstall I am getting various errors , some of which refer to updating the junk filter which is in the Windows Live Mail.I imagine that with a clean uninstall that this error would not appear .But would a 100% clean uninstall mean the loss of all my emails?
New computer came with Windows Live Essentials 2011, plus I have a large Windows Update for it waiting in the wings. I would like to uninstall all the Windows Live programs and possibly keep Windows Live Mail in the event I might one day use it...or not. I also have MS Outlook on my computer. Is there any reason why I need to keep the Windows Essentials 2011 family?
Did a Windows Live Essentials update, after which, my email contacts were all gone. I did system restore, exported the old addys to a folder. After closing Windows Live Mail, I could not reopen without re-doing the update install. So, I did. When I went to the CONTACTS tab (bottom left) it never really opens. It clears the emails or calendar, from the main window but leaves the same 'ribbon' (or task bar or whatever at the top). It doesn't show the options that should be there for 'contacts' (no import/export/etc). If it matters, I do not sign in to Windows Live Mail. When I open it, there's always a a popup that says I've tried to sign-in too many times with the wrong info.
Good Morning seven Forums,I tried to find a forum dedicated to just Windows Live Mail Essentials win 7 Pro, did not find one if it does exist. My Question: Where in Options for Windows Live Mail Essentials 2011 can I remove the requirement that large emails messages will be divided into 256KB sizes. I checked each option tab and contents in options, Mail and other sections, could not find that options endabled. I want to disable it if possible. I get many emails with large powerpoints that I would like to share with otheres and family. In the cases where messages have been sent divided up never could be re-assembled at the recipient.
I admin that I installed Windows Live Essentials a few days back. I didn't like it (sidebar: it made dealing with my many Outlook accounts a pain, but that's another discussion). So, I removed it.
Now, I just checked for updates and Windows Live Essentials was in my list to install. I installed everything except Windows Live Essentials. How do I remove it from the list?
I have tried rebooting since my successful update of the patches I wanted.
I looked in the SoftwareDistribution folder, thinking maybe there was a single file that I could remove, but there's my entire history of updates there, which I don't want to mess with. I certainly don't want some other user on the machine to OK the install, so I would like to hide it.
i wanted to create a new movie in windows 7 with windows movie maker.but it asks for downloading and installing windows7 live essentials. i downloaded them but when installation it takes about 30mins for 2% of completion..
I had Windows Live Mail 2011 and had no problems. Then I upgraded to Windows live mail 2012 and that is when the problems started. All email comes in fineAll email sends fine as long as you only send out one contact. The problem lies in trying to send out a group contact. It does not go. when trying to send you get this error msg : imgur: the simple image sharer I did not realize this problem until i tried to send out a group contact In fact I put the program on 3 different machines that were upgrades- same problem Worse, I put this on 8 client computers who had windows live mail essentials 2011 prior and same problem.Once uninstalling 2012 and going back to 2011 (you can still get 2011) the group contacts went just fine
I'm using Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate edition, and every app I installed is working. But when I go to the Windows Live website, I can't download windows live essentials! When I click on "Download now" browser just keeps loading and loading but nothing happens. Tried with Chrome and IE, and I got same result. Then, I got an idea - I have copied wlsetup-web.exe file from my laptop to the USB flash memory, and then tried installing. File runs, but I can't get farther than "Prepairing the installation" because I got some error which say that I'm not connected to the Internet, although I am.
Ihave been searching for a couple of weeks or more for a solution to this and have tried variou things that were suggested after I googled the error, the last one was uninstall live essentials and reinstall it.but after I. Uninstalled it, it would not reinstall and now I am left with no email account or any of the other parts of live essentials?
My PC runs on Windows 7 OS. I've installed the Windows Live Essentials but MSN Messenger and Live Mail programs are missing from the Start Menu though the installer stated that these 2 programs are already installed on my pc. I browsed to the Programs folder but can't locate any folders on MSN Messenger either. There is a folder for Live Mail though. However, I can't find any .exe file inside that folder which I can use to create a shortcut to my desktop. Had reinstalled the latest Live Essentials package umpteen times but problem remain unsolved.
i was using windows live mail on an hp pavilion dv8 laptop running windows 7 home premium 64bit.i wanted windows movie maker so i downloaded windows essentials and opted to just download movie maker but it changed windows live mail also. now live mail has a different look (uncustomizable and unnecessarily big ribbons) but the real problem is live mail occassionally crashes (some panels turn black). how can i go back to my old version of windows live mail and still keep windows movie maker? also need to ensure i dont lose any of my live mail emails, contacts, folders, settings, etc.
Have just tried to install live essentials on my netbook, Acer aspire 1. allthough it appears to have installed (shows in programmes & features) it has not activated, there is no icon on the taskbar and the netbook is showing unprotected. I have windows 7 starter edition installed.(Spanish) (it came ready installed). Is there something I can do to activate it, or will not liveessentials work with the starter edition?
Query: how can I let Microsoft to stop sending me those daily (or more) notifications that this update is available. I have been all over the help on my computer. As you may well imagine, even given the fact that I am a total non-techie, I couldn't find anything that remotely addressed my issue.
If I install the update, I lose my complete e-mail address/contact list. If I don't install the update I can't open my Live Mail at all. I miss Outlook Express SO much! I'm a senior and I don't need Live Essentials bells and whistles.
I want to remove Windows Live Mail but it's not listed In Programs and Features. I can't find an uninstaller listed any where. How do you remove this thing from your computer. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I have inadvertantly installed Windows live on to my husband's Vista laptop. How can I remove it, please?. Is it G-mail that he would have been using before. He would like it back as he is having connection and signing up problems. What is the point of windows live? He certainly doesn't want a hotmail account.
How does latest version of Windows Essentials Live mail handle imports from Vista's Windows Mail (emails and contacts)? Were you impressed with the interface? Anything you wish from Vista was still in Live?
I have an old Sound Blaster Live!card for XP..Will it work in Windows 7 as the newer Sound Blaster x-Fi Xtreme Audio card that came on my new computer does not have a stereo mix that enables you to play music into a chat room like Paltalk. New system is 64 Bit.
Ever since I removed some malware I cannot run a program that is vital to my job. It tries to do a software update (which it does periodically) and encounters this error: "Message 0x1047 in SUBVMCHK Another application is in the process of updating. Please wait while this update completes." I click ok and the program shuts down. I cannot uninstall the program (I get error 1060). Is there a registry key missing? Earliest system restore does not work.
The "Uninstall/change a program" utility in the control panel is not listing all my programs (it does list about 90% of them though). What else can I use?
I have windows 7 32 bit. I am using a Hauppage HVR 2250 dual tuner card. What is odd is that a few channels will only let me watch them live if I record them. As soon as you hit record you can watch the channel. Otherwise it says "service is unavailable".I can even hit record then stop the record and I can keep watching the channel. Also one other channel works live but when you hit record it says"service is unavailable".It was not always like this as every channel scanned and found worked flawlessly. We have a great outdoor antanna and are very close to the TV towers (around 5 miles away). So I highly doubt it's a signal strength issue all the sudden.
first of all i have a windows 7 64bit, i run malwarebyes, and windows essentials to keep my computer clean. i want you to know i ran a full scan on my computer a couple of days ago and things seemed fine. but i have trouble with videos on Internet some time like if i'm playing a video if it has black in the background if i change back and forth you can see the back ground of the web page. i changed fire fox settings since other videos i noticed were running slow to 600.000 so it would load the videos faster. but, know Internet seems to be messing up. when i brought up task manager i didn't know if what was on there correct or not.
