Unable To Connect To Sky Wireless Broadband
Jun 24, 2012I have recently moved to Sky Broadband and I am experiencing difficulties regarding my wireless connection.
The device in question is a Sony Vaio FW56E (Windows 7, home premium , 64 bit). I initially contacted Sky regarding the connection but as all my other wireless devices (Blu Ray, Ipod, Vista notebook) connect without any issues they could not help.Sky have confirmed that it is not a fault with the Router and that it must be a software/hardware issue with my Vaio.
My Vaio is connecting to the Sky network but I cannot actually access the internet. I have checked all the settings and checked my wireless password. I have also looked into my firewall settings and tried to connect with windows firewall disabled.
Listed below are all the steps I have taken to try and resolve this issue.
Reset the Rouer
Removed the Sky network and reconnected again.
Checked that the wireless is actually enabled.
Changed the wireless channel several times.
Updated the VAIO via windows update using the Ethernet.
Reset the router.
If it is of any use the Rouer Sky provided is a Sagecom F@ST2504n.

Nov 15, 2009Have a brand new pavailion quad cord windows 7 home premium 64bit. i also purchased a usb wireless adapter[url]...
this adapter was working fine for a few hours. the internet connection is cable, the adapter gets about two bars of connectivity, and now when i try to connect to network i get unable to connect to network. i have removed the wirless network, have added it back, entered the security key and nothing. i have a netgear wireless router. not sure what the deal is. i have made sure the power settings on the adapter are off, and this adapter doesnt seem to have the sleep mode option on it. windows 7 also found the drivers automatically. the machine is brand new, other machines/devices on in the house get to the internet just fine.

Apr 28, 2011I previously bought a used laptop running Win 7 Ultimate which I am the administrator and for ages I have wondered why I am always unable to connect to adhoc wireless networks, connecting to wireless access points have no issue though.Connecting to adhoc networks always gives me the 'your network administrator has blocked you from connecting to this network' message. I recently found out, as below there seems to be a group policy set in place?Can anyone show me how I can disable this policy please, without having to reinstall windows 7 again as that would really be too much effort for me[CODE]

Oct 22, 2012I have a fairly new Toshiba Satellite P755 laptop and just started having an issue connecting to my Netgear wireless internet network since yesterday. The issue is that every time I turn on my laptop after it was off or hibernated my computer won't connect to my wireless network but I do see it available to connect to. When I try to connect it won't work unless I reset or unplug the router and plug it in again (Windows Diagnostic Tool says check router access points). Once I do that and wait a couple minutes I can connect to my network again. I have a Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless card and made sure my drivers were up to date. I have tried unchecking the option under Device Manager to not use it if the battery is low and that didn't work. I also tried to system restore and when I did that I got the following error: (0xc0000022) which says an unspecified error occurred and my files and settings were not changed. I have AVG Free 2013 and haven't made any new changes or updates recently.

Jan 28, 2011My windows 7 machine is unable to connect to my internet through the wireless bridge I've set up on my WRT54G using DD-WRT. It seems to be connected to the network as it sees the other computers that are on it but there is no internet access. Every once in awhile it gains access and then abruptly loses it in a matter of minutes. The router supplies internet to anything else I plug into it, be it my Xbox or laptop running XP.

Dec 4, 2012My desktop (windows 7 ultimate 64bit) has been able to connect fine to the internet until I got home from work this morning. My laptop is connecting to the same modem fine through wireless (along with my wii). The modem I am using is Motorola SB 901. When I rightclick my connection on my desktop and hit troubleshoot problems, I get 'local area connection 2 doesn't have a valid ip configuration'. Same thing happens when I switch the ethernet cord to local area connection 1. When I go to control panel, network and internet, network and sharing, the connection map at the top stops between my pc and the network (which is now labeled as 'unidentified network'). Here is a list of what I have done so far to try and resolve the issue:
1. Replaced the ethernet cord with one I know is working
2. Full scanned my pc for viruses
3. Disabled all firewalls and virus protection programs
4. Restored my pc to a previous save state
5. Reset winsock with cmd via these prompts: netsh winsock reset catalog and netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
6. This attempt is unfinished as I am getting stuck. I am attempting to setup a static ip to attempt to resolve the issue, but when I open cmd and type ipconfig/all, the default gateway under my local area connection is completely blank.Here is what comes up with ipconfig/all:

I am trying to connect to a network (I have a dell running on windows 7) and it keeps telling me that windows is unable to connect to the network-this is before I can even enter the security key. I know it is not a problem with the wireless because other people are able to connect to it fine.

Wireless Wep Can't Connect On X64
Mar 20, 2009I have both x86 and x64 Seven installed. Wireless Card is Realtek 8185 b/g, router is belkin 802.11b
For x86, 7000-7048-7057 all connected to the 802.11b router with WEP 128bit without problem.
Since 7057, I installed x64 Seven and verified that the WEP key is correct. But, it just can't connect. "Unidentified network", Access type: No Internet access. ipconfig /all tells me that I didn't connect to the router at all. The router's dhcp didn't assign the x64 any ip.
If I boot up the x86, I then can go to Internet without problem.
I tried the troubleshoot. The program reset my wireless network card then let me retype my wep key. At the end, it was unable to fix the issues and it lists the problems as below:
Windows cannot connect to "....." Detected
"Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration Detected
Now, if I manually set a valid IP "192.168.2.3" and mask "255.255.255.0" and gateway "192.168.2.1", I still can't connect to the router. But, from the router side, the dhcp list shows my x64 ip address.
Also, even if I reset the router to Open (without WEP), x64 still can't connect to the router. None of above can make me ping the router. So wired.
Please help me. I do like x64 over x86, because in there the office 2007 and SAS 9.2 won't freeze/without response. And, I don't have the lan access to the router.
Cannot Connect With Wireless?
Aug 18, 2012I cannot use wireless access, getting msg. wireless lan adapter has been disabled in device manager, checked device manager there is a Network adapter, (Realtek PCIE FE Family Controller) and then there is Other Devices under there is the network controller(yellow !). Downloaded controller drivers from HP,( sp53955) and for some reasons the drivers are not installing. Also when I try to set up a wireless connection all i can get is broadband and cable. I am quite sure this is because there is a problem with the wireless adapter.I continued my search and discovered that this notebook uses the Atheros ar9285 wireless adapter, I disabled the unknown network controller and enabled the Realtek since this one appeared to be the one that was installed by HP.

1. at uni it connected on its own for 15 minutes, any time i've attempted to manually connect it says "could not connect to [network name]"
