USB Device Comes Up As Write-protected After NTFS Formatting?
Feb 1, 2012
I was attempting to copy a large number of small files from one USB stick to another. An error came up saying that the FAT file system would support only a limited number of files, and I would have to format it for NTFS to support more files. So I formatted it for NTFS...and now when I try to copy the files, it says the device is write-protected.

I have a couple of flash drives I have formatted to NTFS. One for an install drive and one for a readyboost test. If I formatted the drive in CMD do I have to format it the other way (to FAT32) in CMD or can I just right click the flash drive and format it there?
I need to protect a template that contains parts, that should be edited eventhough there is protection activated. These fields should have a special formatting (font and size) which is missing after protecting the document. How to fix this? Only possible with a macro? Tried to do it but couldn't make it work. Please help as soon as possible. This is urgent. Don't get why this must be so complicated after it has been so nice before Office 2010.

I have been using a seagate 1TB drive on a vantec dock. All of a sudden the drive has started appearing write protected and I cannot add or delete any files on the drive. This is very surprising as I haven't found any answer as to how can I remove the write protect thing and use my drive normally. This problem has many answers for windows XP but cant really google an answer for Win 7 ultimate.
