Transfer Data Between Laptop & Desktop?

I have a desktop with W.7. Ultimate - connected to Internet by WIFI - and I have just bought a laptop, which has W.7 Home Premium, to use when away from home.I have just returned and would like to transfer data from the laptop to the desktop. I do not seem to be able to do so.I could obtain a memory stick and transfer via that, but I was wondering if I could obtain a cable (USB) that I could use.I have a second HD inside my tower from my last Computer .- which contains my music collection - and I can access that through the Start button/Computer. I do not have a cable with a USB connection at each end - only an extension USB cable for my reception of WIFI which is an ordinary USB for the computer and a larger size to connect the radio receiver.

I purchased Outlook 2010 out-of-the-box and am authorized to install it on two machines. It's been running on my desktop (duo-core Intel/Windows 7 64bit) for months now, and I've just gotten around to installing it on my Toshiba Satellite (Athlon/Windows 7 32bit) laptop.
So far, so good, but I don't want to have to manually and tediously set up my email accounts again. let alone copy calendar and notes, etc. How do I transfer all that data over? It'll be especially important when synchronizing the two machines. I tried copying over the C:User...AppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook folder with contents and C:User...AppDataRoamingMicrosoftOutlook folder as well. No apparent effect.
It used to be that copying Outlook.pst would do the trick, but no longer, apparently.

So I'm going to be building a new system soon and I was wondering if its possible to use my laptop hard drive in my new build and if Windows would transfer over with it. The laptop came pre-installed with windows so I don't know if this is possible.

I know there are very similar threads but like I said I cannot find a solution. [code] I recently noticed the transfer rate really slow, at an average about 1.5MB/s.I have tried enabling Better Performance option but what happens is that it starts really fast and then goes down to about 1.5MB/s anyways and usually just freezes or stops.I also have a laptop, its an Acer Aspire AS5745DG-6681. Specifications are:Intel Core i5-480M, 15.6" HD (1366x768) LED-backlit, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Blu-ray Combo Drive, NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M 1GB, Wireless N, HDMI, Webcam, 9-cell, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.I updated the RAM to 8GB on the laptop.Using the same external hard drive, I can get rates at an average of 30MB/s and better performance is also disabled on the laptop.I Don't know what the difference is they both have Windows 7 64 bit, just the laptop is Home Premium and my desktop is Windows 7 Enterprise.

Upon recommendation, I have a new Wintec 4GB Flash Drive to do the transfer but do not have a clue how to do it. My old Dell Inspiron E-1505 notebook had Win XP Media Center and OE email with 1GB harddrive. My Windows 7 system won't boot up and I gave up trying to fix it. I bought a new PC and want to preserve my settings, programs, etc. All of the transfer solutions that I've read require the old hard drive to be bootable. Is there a way to transfer everything over to the new PC from just the hard drive?

problem either stopped on the usb data transfer from windows 7 PC to a usb HDD or flash drive; or crashed and give errors. However, i dont encount this sreious problem but rather annoying problem.
As soon as i use my Windows 7 PC to copy a file to usb stick, the process is all ok, but when i read the file, it seems to be corrupted, example, if i have put a avi file in the usb drive, it will play as skipped.
I have updated the hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972 but still doesnt fix my problem. I have updated the chipset driver from nvidia web site, still no help.
I know for sure that problem occured after i fresh installed to windows 7 from xp pro. I have also tried to uninstall the usb root hub but still give me the same driver as it was.

i have a Samsung spinpoint F1 1TB 7200 sata 2 transfering 40 GB's to a Western Digital 3TB Green Caviar sata 3 5200.i dont believe i have set anything to do with sata transfer rates.its taking 10+ minutes to complete the 40 GB data transfer.Is this normal? if it is not. What is Wrong? and is there a way to fix it?

installed a 60GB SSD a couple of years ago when they were quite expensive. I planned to use it solely for the operating system (Windows 7 Ultimate x 64). However over the years, it has become full to overflowing. I would like to clean it up and return it to the operating system only. Unfortunately I do not have the original disks or access to the installation programs for most of the information on the SSD. I have two other hard drives in the system - a 500GB Velociraptor that I originally wanted to hold all the programs and a 1000GB for the data. Can anyone tell me the best way to transfer the data off the SSD without screwing up my system?

I am wondering if there is something wrong with my windows 7 ratings. My SSD is in perfect working order and everything is blazing fast, but for some reason I only get a 5.9 for a rating. I am using the Intel X25-V SSD. I have just bought a laptop with Windows 7.On my main computer which is Vista I have the calendar set up to appear as soon as I switch on so all my appointments are there.On the laptop with Windows 7 the calendar seems to be within windows mail live.
