i have no sound coming out of my desktop despite everything being connected properly and switched on, the sound was okay 2 days ago but has disappeared. my device manager says it is working properly.
I am having an Acer Aspire 1680 notebook with an AC'97 compatible soundcard apparently from Conexant, however unfortunately Windows 7 does not seem to recognise it automatically. I can install the XP drivers successfully but then all playback is stuttering and laggy. I also searched for Vista AC97 drivers respectively Vista Conexant drivers but they all do not appear to be compatible.
Does anybody know whether there is a working driver for Windows 7?
The sound on my Acer Aspire notebook is skipping and lagging. I've already downloaded the newest Realtek audio drivers from the Acer website. I tried to reset the DMA settings but got this result: "No resettable ATA channels with Windows drivers found. Nothing changed."
I used to run XP before switching over and have never ran vista. The XP drivers for this device worked great from the Acer website. I have downloaded the Vista drivers now and tried them both in regular mode and then after again in compatibility mode (Vista SP1). This did not work. It is recognizing my card reader but the driver's or something is stopping it from working.
When I load in an SD card the sound is not made and no drive appears. Am I missing something? I have google'd and gotten all my other devices to work flawlessly. This is the last one and I will have a working Windows 7 machine.
Edit: I have found out a manual for my lapop and it shows the device as "ENE CB714". Scouring google for drivers but haven't seen a thing yet.
I am having trouble installing a card reader driver on my Acer Aspire 5050.The memory card reader is ENE CB714 Cardbus/MediaReader Controller. The ENE Technology website has no links or downloads for their drivers. After clicking Extract Here, there are no 'instructions'. I cannot seem to 'unzip the files. There is also no 'install file' that shows up. I have followed the steps and they are simply not working.I am trying to use my Sony CyberShot camera in my USB ports. I have gone to the Sony website and there was a driver available that would not install.I have tried a lot of methods and cannot seem to get this working!how I can download and install this driver?
I have a laptop(Acer Aspire 9300), and my graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce Go 6100.
Seven refuses to recognize said graphic card, insisting that in it's place, is a Standard VGA Graphic Adapter. Because of this, my screen resolution is amazingly low.
Proper drivers have been installed several times. I read something about having to manually install the drivers... but didn't fully comprehend.
After some research, I found that Seven has troubles with graphic cards built into the motherboard.
I have a acer aspire 5935G 64bit running Windows 7 home premium and cannot for the life of me get the internal speakers to work I have been on the acer website and downloaded Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.5932_W7x64W7x86_A as recommended by the site but to no joy.At first I just downloaded and tried to install which didn't work - well it said it did but the little speaker in the bottom left has a 'x' in the centre when clicked it says there is a issue and tries to fix it then fails. My device manager has one failed driver 'with yellow/orange exclamation mark' on high definition audio controller. Other sound drivers that do not have a error are another high def audio controller which are both in the system devices section, and then theres a hdmi audio controller in speakers and sound section. I then tried to disable then uninstall all sound drivers and try again which gave me the same result as above. Now after unstalling it one click on speaker and it installs windows audio drivers which do not work.
i am using Windows 7 ultimate. i am hearing very little or no sound via my PC speakers. however, i can hear sound via headphones.
checked all possible setting as per my knowledge. The point to note here is that sound is working perfectly OK in Ubuntu 11.10. so my speakers appear to be OK.
Has anyone experienced no sound with Windows 7? Running Home Premium 64 bit on an Acer Aspire 5742G. A bit of a search indicates sound issues when people upgrade to 7 from XP etc, but this laptop came with 7 installed already. And there has been sound...sometimes. But more often than not, just no sound.
Troubleshooting doesn't reveal any problems. Apparently everything is "working correctly". So I suppose it could be a hardware fault. Oh and the volume is turned up and not muted
i need better gaming and visuals, have the basic system S5750 i3-2310M/2GB/500GB HDD/if I can get ATIRadeon or NVIDIA graphics card fitted along with my IntelHD Graphics 3000.
HeI am at wits end here trying to figure out how to fix this pc. A friend came to me with the Acer Aspire One D255E with a wireless internet issue. The PC is Running Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. I immediately thought "well there must be a switch that she turned off" There is no switch on the computer for the wireless card. I thought "well there must be a driver issue, Ill go to the device manager and update the driver for it". Then when I got to the device manager... Nothing shows up for a wireless lan card even existing in the laptop, but I know it does, because A) It's a "net Book" B) she was using the internet last week. So, I thought maybe it's not showing up because thee computer needs the drivers for it first, which is unusual, but since its windows 7 starter I thought it needed a kick in the rear to get it goin. So i downloaded all the drivers for the PC using a different computer, and installed the different drivers to see which one would work. Well none of them worked, and now im sitting here scratching my head on what to do next. I have scoured the web and seen a few other people with issues like this.
I accidentally reinstalled the wrong Operating System Recovery CD on my Acer Aspire 5534 laptop, and I want to return it back to factory settings. How do I do I restore it back to factory settings?

When i turn the computer on i get the screen : setup is starting service. Install Windows. The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. I have contacted acer they tried to help with the ALT and F12. Nothing I have tried works.. They told me to order the recovery discs for $20.00. I did , and they dont work either... I contacted them back, and now they say to send it back to them and for $199.00 plus shipping, they will repair the computer..I do not have the money for that..I have the the system disc, the 3 recovery disc and the language disc , that I just ordered from Acer for $20.00.
When I press down f10 and ALT at the same time during boot up from the factory recovery disk when seeing the splash screen, nothing happens and the 'acer laptap just boots from the regular hard drive as usual.
I'm wondering if there are any way to test the speed/bandwidth of an SD card with built-in Windows 7 utilities/diagnostic software?
And in the absence of that, what are the best (and safest) freeware utilities to do this test?
I'm not having a problem with my machine, simply want to figure out which of my SD cards are the slowest and fastest so I can decide which to use and when.
I have had some problems recently with my PC, and the latest is that my sound doesn't work. I have Realtek HD Audio. I can still see my speakers under the Sound list in Control Panel, and they say they work. All of my drivers are up to date and say they work. I have tried many things, some of which where disabling all sound effects under enhancements, reinstalling all the drivers, and restarting the Windows Audio.
I've been using my Ps3 controller as an alternative to an Xbox 360 controller on my PC (to play games with a gamepad) but in order to use my Ps3 controller as a makeshift 360 controller, I need test signing enabled.
Unfortunately with test signing enabled I get a big ugly watermark at the bottom right of my screen, as far as I know the only way to disable this is to disable test signing, otherwise it just won't leave! Is there any way I can get past this and somehow keep driver test signing enabled but get rid of that horrid watermark ruining my gorgeous wallpaper?
I have an acer aspire one and when I turn it on it doesn't ask me to type my password even though I have set one. I have tried resetting my password but it still doesn't make a difference.
