I recently got a Tekmotion Yapster for Christmas. Before I was using a basic Logitech USB mic. My Tekmotion Yapster uses analog. So I plugged in my Tekmotion and it seems to detect my microphone, however it does not detect my audio. So I opened "Sound" and I looked in the playback and it is only detecting my HDMI monitor which doesn't even have speakers.
View 5 RepliesI've had WMC up and running for about a year now, no problems. Tonight we decided to watch a movie that I have as an *.mkv file - we do this all the time, at least once a week if not more. I shut down WMC and played the movie in VLC Media player. When I went to start WMC again, the sound was gone. The sound works in the rest of the system. I can hear computer sounds, and VLC and other media players work fine. It's just WMC that has no sound.I checked all my devices and drivers, no errors. Though to be honest, if that was the problem I'd expect all sounds to be gone.I removed WMC from the system by using the "Remove Windows Features" in Control Panel, and then re-installed it. No difference.I did notice however that removing and re-installing WMC, I didn't have to re-setup all my channels, etc. The settings "stuck". (Oh, by the way, I did re-run the sound setup in WMC, no difference).I'm wondering if maybe my WMC settings are corrupted somehow? Is there some sort of config file perhaps? I have no backup plan here, this is my only way to watch TV. I guess I could wipe the drive and start from scratch, but I'd prefer not to.

Sound has been working fine until I changed my network adapter card, which plugged into the pci express whereas the other one was just pci slot. I have done a system restore, restarted my audio, checked speakers on other devices to make sure they are not the problem. Even when I plug headphones in to the front jack I get no sound. Sound is coming from Asus MOBO.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOriginally, my speakers were not playing any sound, but when I plugged in my headphones, I could hear it. I tried going to Control Panel > Sounds and then chose my speakers to be the "Default device." Now, my speakers work, but when I plug in my headphones, the sound still plays through the speakers and not through the headphones. So basically, I think the problem is that the computer cannot switch between the two without me setting one to be the permanent default one.
I have an HP Pavilion dv2911us. Another interesting point to note is that the Quickplay strip doesn't seem to be working normally. When I press the mute button, it mutes the sound, but it doesn't turn red. This also happens when I try to adjust the volume. The volume changes, but the thing that pops up to show the current volume doesn't change.
I have two computers. The monitor (Acer) on #1 quit working. I switched monitors. #2 monitor (samsung) didn't work on #1 either. I thought it might be my computer. My brother got his monitor working with it. We thought it might have been my cables. I bought new ones. I tried it (with new cables) with monitor from #2. Didn't work. I put the orignial monitor back on, and it works. Now the monitor from #2 doesn't work on #2. I think it might be a driver issue, but not sure.

It happens multiple times a day, seemingly at random (lately its been this way, but I have had it go longer than a day without doing this to me). As I am browsing the internet, as I am turning on a game, when I am away and the computer is just sitting there.
I've tried checking my device manager for differences when it is working and when it is not, I've tried updating all software, I've tried setting default devices. None of it has helped.
The only thing that fixes this is logging off, or restarting the computer. This then returns it to normal. My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv6 windows 7 home premium x64. Headphones in question are Razor Carcharias.
Recently my computer has been force closing applications like Photoshop and Windows Explorer. It usually happens when I right click in Explorer or try to open anything in Photoshop. When it happens, a dialogue box comes up that says "Windows Explorer has stopped working" or "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working" Under the details it displays this information:

get windows 7 to switch audio drivers when you switch to another user account.
For eg.. normal speakers device for my personal account and then have my multichannel device (profire 2626) set as default for my other user account 4 studio work.
Atm, if i change it on one account it changes on the other account which is annoying and i'd just like to set default device for each account so i don't have to do this.
I have a HP Slimline PC and a SyncMaster 2343(BWPlus/BWXPlus)(Analog) Monitor. The monitor two connection options. It has a standard VGA & DVI-D Single Link. The PC only has the VGA(BLUE)connection. If I use an adapter,(DVI-D single link male 18+1 to VGA female) will my monitor then switch to digital?

(E-How) Another article tells me the jack on my computer must match the jack on my TV. (Windows.microsoft.com).
Too new to computers to know if this is needed to answer my question, but Windows 7 & Google Chrome.

I have a ASUS P8B75-M Motherboard and can not get the audio to play through the audio out jack on the back of the motherboard. It shows that audio is supposed to be playing but I hear Nothing. In Control Panel is shows HD Digital Audio for the Audio Hardware but I don't have digital speakers or a Digital Receiver because like most people I have my PC hooked to Analog Desktop Speakers I don't use my PC to watch Movies or play games. I tried reinstalling the Audio Drivers from the support CD and form the Asus support page and all I found were supposedly Digital Audio Drivers. In Control Panel under Sound for playback it says Digital Audio (HDMI) so I assume it is sending the audio to the HDMI Port and not the Green Analog Out jack. I Don't have or plan to get a HDMI Monitor I want to use the Analog Out Jack. Asus support is horrible and totally useless I can't even log onto my account on the forums because the forgot password thing does not work and I forgot my password.I have Show Disabled and Show Disconnected devices checked marked and can still only see the Digital Audio device.The Analog Audio works fine in Ubuntu Linux and it shows an Analog Output device in system settings.I'm about to take this piece of crap Motherboard back and get a MSI but it's a pain removing the CPU and Motherboard and then having to get more thermal compound when I reinstall the CPU into the MSI Motherboard and what if MSI has the same lack of support for Analog Audio?

For nearly half of the .exe files I attempt to open, I get this stupid "---.exe has stopped working" (where --- represents the name of the file).
