View 1 RepliesI have a think center serial is 8171-CTO; I ran the Windows 7 upgrade advisor but after about 20 tries it told me over and over again I had no Internet connection!1! Which I do as I had freshly downloaded the tool.
Anyway, I decided to go for it anyway (doh) and although the OS etc installed fine, I am left with no sound. I have searched Google and read forum after forum to get it working but nothing I try works.
For example I have asked Windows to "fix the problem" ... "unable to fix the problem"
Tried going to Soundmax's website - their support pages are "under construction".
Anyone able to help me please with links to drivers or stuff to try?
I am a total Windows 7 newbie, never used Win Vista only XP (I mainly use Linux at home) please guide me through as such!
I have Asus Pentium 4 2.8
Motherboard : P4V800D-X Series
Sound driver : Soundmax AD1888
And read the problem :
I take my cd into cd-rom and search by the device manager !
It found and in device manager shows : The driver is working ( it seems that is all good and the sound icon in taskbar can shows ) but when I want to listen music or anything it is no sound
this problem is only in Windows 7 Ultimate 32BIT !
i want to download sound drivers
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7 on my old laptop (HP DV 4305US, Intel Celeron with 1.25 GB RAM). Everything is great besides the sound. The integrated sound card has installed, updated automatically, everything looks normal but the computer refuses to give a sound.
I like Windows 7. It is fast even with older machines.
Hope someone can fix the soundMAX issue. Unfortunately, HP does not have a vista driver or so because the DV 4305US was designed for XP.
recently (past week) my computer has dramaticaly slowed down after logging in, then there will be what sounds like either the pop up blocked sound, or the warning sound, but alot of them all going at once. after that, everything will start just fine.a few days ago, windows did say that steam was trying to start but couldnt due to incorrect permisions, but when i cheched it was completely fine.

View 2 Replies View Relatedrecently I found that my computer running Windows 7 Home Premium is becoming slower. And the annoying thing is that, when my computer plays music or video, the audio occasionally becomes the BUZZ sound, with the discrete "jumping" of mouse cursor if it's moving.Once when the issue was bad, a Bluescreen occured with an infinitely repeating noise (buzzing again and again), and the screenshot of the Bluescreen is uploaded.

New Soundmax driver, also for Win 7 (not only AD2000, also AD1988, tested by myself with Windows 7/64)
I just received a new Asus Crosshair II Formula motherboard from RMA the Crosshair, excellence Asus tech support. And this new SoundMax driver work great!
My computer is a Toshiba Satellite U-200.
Yesterday I installed Windows 7 Ultimate.
Everything is working, except for the sound card. the soundcard it's a SoundMax.
I tried installing both drivers, driver for Vista 32bit, and for Xp 32bit. I also tried using mixed: the soundmax program for XP32, and the driver of Vista 32.
unfortunately nothing is working.
the problem is very strange: winamp and media center works as everything is going fine (no problems are found), but the computer is mute.
The microphone is working perfectly, but of course I can't listen to what I recorded, because the computer is mute.
it's like there are no speakers.Same problem if I use the headphones, there is no sound.
Volume is 100%, Mixer is 100%, and the spectre is working, so the computer feels like it's actually sounding!!!
Is there something I can do?
I can't use the pc without sounds.
I've tried several times solving this issue but nothing seems to work.
I own an Asus M2N32-Sli motherboard with SoundMax 7.1 integrated audio and I'm trying to get a 5.1 sound system work on this. Windows is able to recognize the audio card perfectly (I don't even have to install any drivers). Control Panel allows me to configure it just fine, even the test works great; all 6 speakers work in the test, but they do not work in any application (Windows Media Player, Power DVD, Winamp...), I only hear the front speakers, not the surround or the SW/center ones.
I guess this is not a driver issue since they work perfectly in the test, but if anyone can give any suggestion, I'd really appreciate it.
the mic quality is kinda crap, im wondering is there a way i can make it sound a bit better?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed the Windows 7 7057.But cant hear 5.1 sound from my speakers.MB Asus P5B and Analog Devices AD1988A sound card on board. i am right clicking the playback devices, speakers tab and configure and select the speaker setup as 5.1 surround. Why there isnt any topic about lastest soundmax audio driver?
and what is the lastest driver adi 1988A for Windows 7 x64
in post No drivers for SoundMax AD1888. a decision is found
"I had same problem with AD1888 but in 32 bit Win 7 (7000). Windows 7 installed driver for Soundmax and even updated it, but it didn't work at all. The problem was in driver number - 5.12.01.5290. I just replaced one file (smwdm.sys) from Asus Win XP driver pack for this card (5.12.01.3665) and rebooted the system. So I have sound now. "
where it is possible to get it a file?
My Windows XP installation has a Soundmax audio driver. Having now the ability to dual boot my computer to Windows 7 I have since learned that there is little likelihood of Soundmax producing a driver compatible with Windows 7. Windows 7 Device Manager indicates under Sound Controller. what it refers to as a High Definition Audio Device and that the drivers installed are working properly but still no sound. Attempts to update these drivers report that the drivers in question are up to date. There is no indication by yellow exclamation marks that anything isn't as it should be in Device Manager.
Any suggestions for restoring sound would be appreciated
I recently installed windows 7 with my dc7100sff
But as it seems I can't find any soundmax drivers for it
Windows 7 automatically detected it and installed some drivers, But of course this did not work
I've tried most soundmax audio solutions for windows 7 but it still does not work
Is there any solution or do I have to wait?
I use this old motherboard ECS GS7610 Ultra
i installed windows 7 and managed to get sound working but in windows xp i had this soundmax control panel wizard that let me configure standard sound jacks to 5.1.
i tried going to control panel > sounds > configure speakers but no 5.1 options.

I have a problem with my Soundmax array mic on windows 7, the volume is very low and when I use mic boost the sound is of very poor quality with annoying static. Does anyone know some good drivers for this sound card that will work on windows 7 64bit?
I have no problems whatsoever with audio playback, just the microphone has problems.
L.E. After fiddling with lots and lots of drivers, I found a modified version with the new Soundmax panel, problem is although the microphone works as expected in the sound card software, in windows and other apps it still has the same problems.
M.L.E. Made it using the v6.10.02.6520 driver wich you have to mod to make it work on some ADI sound cards, more details about modding in the 3-rd post of this topic:

I couldn't make head or tail of it so I just installed them over a modded version of the 6480 drivers.
I got the beta awhile ago, build 7000 and once i got it, my sound wasn't working? I looked all over google and tried everything but nothing works. If anybody knows how to fix this tell me. My driver is a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio v5.12.1.7010.
