Mar 29, 2011have tried several times to solve my HP dv 6700 series, but all my effort prove abortive. Can you please help me out by sending me some information on how to rectify the problems. Whenever I start the computer, I dont hear any sound from window and if I try to play music from my media player, no sound at all. I can only listen to music or sound via headphone only. I have downloaded different driver on sound and still no sound.

The above is found in my Device Manager under "Other Devices" "coprocessors" . I have already tried to install drivers for my sound card (Win 7 drivers are available)but when I do , Im told they dont need to be updated, I have the latest edition. I assumed the coprocessor was my sound card because I dont have any sound. Im tempted to do a system restore ! My m/b is a MSI K9N2 Diamond.
Sound Driver Keeps Disappearing
Oct 3, 2012So Lately I been getting this problem where I put my computer to sleep and then turn it back on it loses its sound, its saying there is no driver installed, I have to reboot the system and then go to the bios to turn off the integrated sound and then turn it back on and sometimes after it doesn't even pick it up. Also when I turn it on the driver isn't even red or yellow in the device manager.

Sep 23, 2009I installed 7 on a Dell Dimension 4600 1 GB Memory, ATI Video card, onboard sound. Everything seems to run fine but my audio. I had to install the latest AC97 drivers that just came out to get rid of the exclamation point in Device manager. When I click on the speaker icon or go to properties it shows sound is going through but nothing comes out the speakers. I have a second HD with XP and the sound works fine so I know my hardware is OK. Any suggestions to get my sound working?

Apr 29, 2011I have a HP DV9000 (DV9610us). I installed a new motherboard, hard drive and Windows 7. I installed all drivers for the laptop, but have no sound. I have tried multiple options, but still no sound. I can hear a clicking sound every once in awhile (might be when a windows sound comes on). Also when I touch the mute and vloume up I can hear the clicking. I am stuck and out of options.Showing sound driver is Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221.Also 2 Base System Devices and 1 Coprocessor drivers are not letting me add drivers to them either, but I only care about the sound right now.

Feb 7, 2010I have a sound driver issue with my LM70. The version I get is a Windows 7 Ultimate. I can not find ANY sound driver that will work.
I checked for my BIOS, and it's HUNTSFOF, My LM70 model is: PKJE
I couldn't locate any LG Inteligent update (like I had with my XP that came with the laptop)
I read the thread at http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=76473 and in the LM70 field, there are 2 BIOS numbers, which one should I use?
I am pretty desperate, as we have many LG's, and windows 7 is going to be the default installation in my company (I will be in charge of that) - and we are not going to replace dozens of laptops just because there is no sound driver.
1. Is there an update I need to do to my BIOS?
2. IS there an LG Inteligent Update I can use with W7?
3. Is there like a default sound driver I can use?
Realtek Sound Driver
Feb 27, 2010I have just installed a new HDD. I know have no sound. I know that the mobo sound device is Realtek but their site is a nightmare. I remember having to download a sound driver fro Vista but that it has a win 7 fix in it. I think it was the ac97 driver but I cant remember where I got it from.
Everytime I think I have found it, it turns out to be a driver scan application that i have to pay for!!
Does anybody know where i can get the driver I need from?

May 30, 2011I have a Gateway NV59C laptop and the stock audio driver has amazing sound quality (after I adjusted the enhancements and such). However, I don't have a Line In option. I only have my built in microphone (I have checked the Show Disabled and Disconnected devices box). However, when I update the driver, I have the Line In option, but the sound quality is lessened because I don't have the option for a bass boost which is the main reason my output sound sounds so great through my headphones. Is there any way that I can have the stock enhancements (such as bass boost and loudness equalization) as well as having the Line In feature?
