Slimtype DVD A DS8A4SH Ata Device 64bit Driver?
Oct 22, 2012in my windows 7 and ubuntu 11.4 the above dvd reads as a cdrom only so dvd software and dvds won't work?

Slimtype DVD Player Disappeared From My Computer And Device Manager
Jul 13, 2012For he past 3 days my Slimtype DVD player was not noticed by my laptop at all. Even worse, my device manager does not recognize the DVD drive even though the drive is in working order (i.e. it can still open and close). This drive has worked well enough for the past five years and has been working properly until I installed some updates from the Windows update center. But I don't which update(s) caused my DVD drive to disappear. So after numerous attempts to fix the problem through Microsoft's Fix It Service (Boo!) I decided to restore my computer to its factory settings (OS: Windows Vista 32-bit) hoping that would restore the functionality of my DVD Drive. Alas, that did not even work! The only remnant of my DVD's functionality with Windows a registry key :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/DeviceClasses/{53f56308-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}/##?#IDE#CdRomSlimtype_DVD_A__DS8A1H__________________WH66____#5&50caa7d&0&0.0.0#{53f56308-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}
as shown by the following image but nowhere else. I have tried everything to fix this problem from the removing the upper filters and lower filters to reformatting my computer. Is their any other possible problem with my DVD?

Nov 22, 2009I installed Windows 7 a few months ago. I am using a Gateway DX4200, now I decided that I need to use Wireless Connection. I downloaded the Vista 64bit driver from the Gateway site. It had the .inf file, so I right clicked and clicked Install. I got the following error message,
Code: The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation Tried to find the actual driver, and failed to.
The full file name that I got from Gateway site was, WLAN_Pro-Net_WP61R_WP61R2_Vx64. Can anyone find that driver for me, or help me resolve the Installation issue?

Apr 26, 2009Has anyone recently downloaded either the 32 or 64 bit driver from creatives website? Says it was released April 24th and won't pass its own CRC check when it goes to unpack it. I downloaded it with two different browsers, assured the cache was flushed, etc...
I had to install the Vista 64 driver in Vista SP1 compatibility mode. Which seems to work sometimes, other times not.
Just curious if anyone has had the issue or had the install work with the NEWEST release from Creative.

Nov 2, 2009My Windows 7 64 bit install is all good except for the Synaptics touchpad integrated into my keyboard. It is recognized as a Microsoft Serial Mouse, but the latest Synaptics drivers don't seem to 'do' serial. I have tried the new 14.0 driver, as well as an older 9.0 version designed for 64 bit Vista, but to no avail.
I've also tried a serial to PS/2 to USB conversion, and though the touchpad is then recognized as an HID compliant mouse, I can't get it recognized as a touchpad with scrolling, etc. I can't use it as a PS/2 mouse because my new motherboard only has a PS/2 keyboard connector.
