When ever I open any game I get a message telling me that d3d9.dll is not designed to run on windows or contains an error..
I have already reinstalled directx, as well as downloaded a d3d9.dll file and tried that one out.. Still get the same error message..
Any help? I have attached a picture of the error message as well.
I have ati radeon hd 5670 and its made for directx 11, and i have it, but i also want to play some games witch dosen't work on directx 11, so I installed directx 9.0c, for the games, and for a while it worked, but now my directx 9 dosen't work anymore for example I wanted to play spellforce 2 faith in destiny, and crashes because directx, and its not the only game and even "fraps"(programs that shows the fps on a game) say that i need to reinstall my directx 9.0c and I did reinstall the last version but nothing. what I can do other that reinstall my windows?

I *WAS* having this problem trying to play RIFT Beta, however, a quick search of your forum gave me just the answer that solved my problem. The launcher would start, then I would click play, and a directx update window would open, when I clicked the next button on the installer for directx (the window did not provide a version), I would get the error box telling me to look in my directx.log file, which contained many lines of error code about missing cab files. I then used the link provided in a closed thread on this forum that took me to the Microsoft Directx software page, I downloaded the latest rev of the runtime sdk kit, after 6 minutes of installation, RIFT launched perfectly. and i have not been able to successfully install DirectX9.0c. over the already installed DirectX 11.

When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. View 6 Replies View Relatedok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.

I check for updates once a month. Even on 7. So everyone should update
Even though windows 7 has DX11, you should always update the direct x. Older games still require these updates. I see alot of ATI Cat issues solved after installing these aswell.

When I go to dxdiag, on the display tab, it says direct 3D acceleratoin: Not available. And I need to enable it for a game.Another weird thing that might have something to do wiht the problem: In the device manager, when I open Display adapters section, there is one item called "Standard VGA graphics adapter", and my graphics card is ATI Radeon Mobility 5650, which is not shown there.
