Dec 27, 2009just wanted to know if this laptop is would and would run windows 7 smoothly, and what to choose. 32 bit or 64 bit. so i have listed the stats
processor, intel R pentium dual cpu t2390 1.86ghz
4 gb ram ddr2
nvidia geforce 8600m 256 mb, can have up to 1500
is this good for windows 7. and some other thing. pls answer me if my cpu is 2 cores or 1. i mean does dual cpu mean i have 2x 1.86ghz? and was is my accurate speed?

Aug 25, 2012About a year ago, our Pentium D died and I was able to retain a few pieces from the machine, enough actually to rebuild it shortly.
My main question is this: I already tried moving Win 7 Home Premium 32bit from the Pentium D to the Pentium 4 and the hard drive crashed and with some heavy research, I discovered that this was not possible without a nuke and restart.
Please tell me there is some way to go from the P4 to the Pentium D when i rebuild it in a few weeks...? I've been reading that it may be possible if I uninstall all the drivers in safe mode and then move the hard drive to the Pentium D. I've also read that this is not possible with OEM versions, I just double-checked and our copy is retail upgrade from XP.
Pentium D 2.8ghz Vs P4 HT 3.0ghz?
Aug 25, 2011Would a Pentium D running at 2.8ghz be much of an upgrade from my current P4 3ghz HT system? Also, how good is Windows 7 at managing CPU cores when it comes to software designed for a single core system? For example, would windows see that I am trying to run something (like say, Oblivion) that has a heavy CPU load and automatically send it to an unused core or would it be necessary to do that manually?
