Ok so my computer is acting up , at first i thought it was a ram issue , but when i am only use 1 gb of ram ( i have 2 gb) my cpu usage goes to 100 then drops to 30 then back to 60 and so on , even on start up it goes to around 50% without anything opened. So i tick the show all process on my task manger and i see alot of svchost , more than 6 running, should i be worried, i heard some of them could be a virus and i also MsMpeng.exe running and it uses 50,000 usage, it uses more memory than google chrome. both svchost and MsMpeng.exe worries me , iknow svchost is safe but it also good be a virus.
I have a ACER D255 netbook with intel atom N550 (1.5ghz, 1mb L2 cache) 1gb DDR3 memory and 250 gb hdd. lately it has been a tad slow and freezing up will using google chrome. my task manager says right now that CPU usage is 4% but Memory is at 75%, sometimes up to 90%. it also says that i have 89 processes running.
I have had my laptop for around a year now, and it's always been pretty fast for a cheapish laptop, It's an advent modena m100 in blue, but recently it has started getting real slow, like my CPU Usage is at 100% all the time and my Physical memory usage is running quite high aswell, without even having any programs open.
When I first boot up the machine and start using it (win 7 ultimate 64bit) the memory usage stays arround 40%. If I keep using it, the memory usage will slowly increase until it reaches 99%. If I boot up the machine and just leave it there for a couple of hours, the same happens.I try to restart (via windows), it logs off, shuts down the system, the coolers keep spinning, the motherboard lights are still on, but it doesn't boot up again. It remains like that. I have to restart via reset button or power button.
If I am surfing the net or looking up something on the net, my computer will almost come to a stop and get very very slow, when I go to the task manager, I find the CPU usage at 100% and just stays there. When I look at the processes there are several that are high (DWM.exe (20-23%, Taskmgr.exe, FireFox.exe
I am using windows 7 ( 64 bit ) my cpu usage is now 100 % and memory usage is almost near to 2 GB..I installed Avast months back.now i have newly installed Microsoft Security Essentials ..
1) when i try to uninstall Avast there is no uninstall option even in Add/Remove program it does not show up in list.
2) When i try to end process of Avast it shows me message ."Access Denied " although i am administrator and only single user
3) What i want just to keep my CPU Usage down ( almost 5 to 10 % Max )because i have not installed any thing to use CPU usage like 100 % I have visual 2008 with Sqlserver 2005 and office 2007, like these
My Audiodg.exe process is currently using 2,786,070 kB (not just normal bytes, kilobytes) of Ram. 2.66gb+ of Ram! I have searched the web as well as this site for any problems. My audio is working fine though... I have no idea why this using so much ram. Im guessing a memory leak of some kind... I restartand it starts off at a normal pace...
When I turn on or restart my PC after everything is loaded the task manager says I'm using 25% of my Ram. After two or three days my ram usage goes up to 50% while just sitting there.
It never really goes up past 50-55% but I want to know why it starts at 25% and then goes to 50%.
is there a reason why when i run a programe like antivirus scan or adaware my cpu dosent use all of its capabilities to speed up the scanning process?
for instance with firefox, adaware scanning and what ever progs are in the back ground running my cpu usage is still at a steady 5%, why isnt that upto say 70% so the scan will be done a lot quicker?
My Windows 7 laptop has recently been through about a half-dozen supposed "fixes" to malware and registry repairs. It is still running high CPU cycles. How can I fix it (preferably without paying for anything)? I have AVG and will purchase their PC TuneUp when I get a chance, and I just bought SpeedyPC earlier tonight. So, I don't want to spend more money. I have tried Spybot, Malwarebytes, and another one (can't remember).
A month or so ago my computer was fine. Gradually, slowly RAM usage has been going up. I used to be able to run multiple aps at once, no problem. Computer has gradually slowed more and more. Can't run more than a couple aps at once without it slowing to the point it is useless. At start up with no aps launched RAM usage is 83+%. What is going on now that was not a couple months ago? I have poked around in Task Manager but do not really understand what I am seeing there. Windows 7. I updated to IE 9. I have Norton Internet Security. I have run Malwarebytes, Smart Defrag 2 and Advanced SystemCare 4.
I bought a new ssd for my laptop since my old hard drive died.If I can get an oem windows 7 cd, can I use the window 7 oa key on the bottom of my laptop to activate windows 7?
Whenever I am on my computer My RAM usage is really high. More than I think I could ever use up! When I am not on an App/ Browser my RAM Usage is still above 50-60%. I also think my internet connection has something to do with it because when ever I try to load a video/website it takes more than 10minutes to load a 30 second video!
I have a very high cpu usage for some reason. I wont even be at my computer and I can hear it working away.Take a look at the picture. I wasn't really even doing anything. I have itunes open, mozilla, skype but not doing anything.I've looked at the processes and it seems normal. Firefox is always top.
I recently purchased a small laptop (ASUS X43U increased RAM 4GB) and only in the past 2 weeks or so the CPU usage has been fluctuating up to 100% and as low as 4% ish. The computer is making this horrible noise all the time (I've been told its the cooling fan..) and is driving me insane. I have a fully up to date antivirus software, no games or additives installed, and really only ever have 1 or 2 windows of Google Chrome open at one time.
Specs : win7 homebasic 64 bit 4gb ram, 500 gb hdd corei3... for few months my cpu usage rocks to 100% with minimal usage.. i thought it is heating issue.. cleaned fan. it helped only for few weeks then i would just kill process tree from which have high usage from task manager.
this problem happens everytime.. had tried hp recovery, system restore to prev time. factory reset.
I don't know if I'm just overthinking/worrying too much about my laptop, but my CPU usage lately seems to idle between 10 and 30% even when I'm not doing much. I've noticed that TeaTimer.exe (Spybots real time protection) seems to hog some of this, and I'm not sure if I need it since I have Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware installed. I've also noticed Firefox to be very laggy but this could well be a seperate issue. Also on startup my computer does seem to take up to five minutes to settle down after logging in.What can I do or what should I be checking?
Here's my system information:

i always crash whenever i play need for speed world. it would start for a few minutes or a few seconds. im not sure if its driver related, overheating GPU, or worst, a dead GPU.
my i7 idles around 40's? it has always been like this CPU: 43 Core 0 42 Core:1 41 Core 2: 42 core 3 41 ( my aux is 128 ) but people have told me speed fan gives a false reading for that considering its been stuck at just 128 and nothing on my mobo is that hot... also considering that is above boiling temp.. anyways my point i'm getting to is that when i run rsbot ( runescape bot ) my cpu usage hit 100% and when i move my mouse everything starts to slow up exteremly terrible almost at the point where i can control anything and my cpu temp gets up 73+ cores are like 90's + but see when i play minecraft , or world of warcraft or diablo cpu stays around high 40's to 50's and core temps are around mids 60's i've tried everything to get it down and the problem i have is i used to be able to run rsbot compelety fine... i mean i could even run rsbot and play minecraft at the same time... the other day i relized my computer was being extremly laggy i thought it was my mouse because i just got a new one and i looked at the cpu temps ( this was just idle ) and they were 90's... i freaked out and took my computer apart and scrapped off the old thermal applied new and now its back to 40's but it seems to lag a bit at time.... now and it doesn't feel the same i applied theremal paste this is probally the 3rd time i applied it in the last 3 months... i don't get it i'm puting 2 rice grains sizes maybe not even that much i'm making sure it covers the whole cpu.. everything.. it only hits 100% when using rsbot
Recently installed the 64 bit Windows 7 beta, and my CPU usage is constantly at or near 100%, even with no external programs running. Just to give a quick run-down of my system, I have:-- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor (2.2 GHz)-- 2GB DDR RAM-- 1GB Diamond Radeon 3650HD Video CardThe rest of my setup is a basic desktop machine -- plenty of storage space, etc. It runs XP Professional (32-bit) just fine. I installed the Vista x64 driver for my video card last night; it installed successfully, but did not seem to help much.
I have installed SharePoint 2010 on my Windows 7 laptop, and it works fine. But all the services that are installed will always start and use a lot of resources, even when I don't use the application.
It is possible to only start all the involved services (like SQL Server, IIS etc.) when I tell it to or to only have them start when I log on with a special user account?
I've attached the HJT txt file. Mod Edit: Removed HJT log, malware tool not used in this forum and stated issues seem to be non-malware-related ~ Hamluis.I've noticed that there are always multiple chrome.exe applications running. Also, the moment I start itunes, the apsdaemon program runs and the useage shoots to 100% until I close it. The laptop I have is a quadcore, 4gig ram fairly new comp. It just shouldn't be running this slow and being bogged down like this.
I always wondering why did I have low fps in game until I restart my laptop. After installing MSI Afterburner, I realize that when I turn on my laptop, my GPU won't pass 70% in game(that means low fps). Restart fix the problem(95% all the time and no fps drop), but I didn't want to restart everytime I turn on my laptop. This is not random and happen all the time when I turn on my computer for the first time.

p.s : Nvidia driver is the latest version, I tried reinstall/rollback new/old driver but it didn't fix the problem.
I'm on the RTM build (one of the custom "touched" builds) and I've noticed that my RAM usage seems to rise the longer I'm on.
For instance: Yesterday I came home from work and started my machine. After startup the RAM was at around 27% just idling. I then checked my mails, looked at various news sites, and then browsed this forum, all the while playing music through Winamp.
At this point my RAM was around 31% which seems fine as I was doing various things at once.
I then closed Firefox and , leaving Winamp playing music (no visualization), sat back in my chair to read the newspaper.
After about an hour of this I returned to the pc to put on some different music and my RAM is at 40%!
After another hour or so it was at 42%.
It's not Winamp related or music related as I noticed the same thing the other day when I had literally closed all major apps and just had the desktop up.
So it just seems that it is length of time related.
When I run windows 7 idle, I get somewhere in the neighborhood from 600 MB used (for a second or two after start up) to about 900 MB used. This is from an idle computer running no programs, with Windows Classic theme and thus (I believe) Aero disabled, but it seems a little high. I've heard of people getting their netbooks to run on 250 mb idle and other nice numbers, and I'd like the same for my laptop (if possible).
I'm running an Intel C2D 2.33 GHz laptop with 4GB of RAM with Windows 7 RC 7100 x64. RAM is limited to 3.37 GB, because the motherboard doesn't address that high (turning on PAE and turning off DEP haven't helped the issue).
I understand that the fact I have so much RAM could be why Windows 7 is being liberal with its use, but I thought I would see if there were any tricks I could pull to get such low numbers. I've not gone through Black Viper's service list yet, so that may yield some results, bu I don't think it would yield a 400-700 MB difference.
I have Dell laptop of 2GB ram. Even though before I start any application my ram goes more than 60%. After when i start using applications (specially Chrome) it goes more than 80%. And also laptop gets damn hot. Earlier CPU usage was also high...
