Overclocking System AND Graphic Card?
Dec 27, 2011Q. Is it safe/stable to overclock system and in addition to that also overclock graphic card.? How to be sure for stability. previous Gr. Card HD 4350 died I suspect because I did little overclocking in system ( as now) and then in graphic card was on AUto Tune, overdrice. Graphic card showed erratic behaviour after couple of hours completely died. My system specs briefly:ASUS P5QPL PRO Q9400 2GB CORSAIR DDR2 Dual Channel.Graphic card: SAPPHIRE RADEON HD 6850 GDDR5 1GB.I have done little overclocking on system, some initial steps only. then in catalyst it is set to :Enable Graphic overdrive. 775 MHZ for GPU and 1GHz for GDDR5. these values I got through Auto Tune.

Nov 9, 2009So I installed Windows 7 32bit a couple of days ago and I have tried to install the drivers for my NVIDIA 8600 GTS ever since without success. I downloaded several versions from nvidia and none of them work.
The weird thing is is that according to device manager I've an ATI X1200 installed. I tried uninstalling it and installing nvidia drivers but it still doesn't work.
Im clueless, since I have no experience in solving problems with my graphic card. So, if anybody got some tips and things for me to try, I'd be grateful.

Feb 7, 2012computer : Asus g53sx - a1The video card is an nvdia gtx 560Mi use windows 7 64-bitthe problem is.. the notebook keeps loosing the driver for this card. I turn the computer off and when i turn it on again the resolution is set to 800x600 and i can't find my VGA not even in the device manager. The notebook came with a cd that has the driver so i use it and install the driver (now it doesn't work). after rebooting it comes back to the original 1920x1280 resolution... but then it begins again... i turn it off... and quen on... back to the beginning. Now, when i try to install the driver from the cd it fails... used the resolution as an example but all the features of the card are disabled ...for example gaming or using any 3d animation program, because the onboard card cannot stand this activities.

It happens when I am playing solitare or writing an email, which is the screen freezes and I have to turn off the computer to regain the monitor function or the computer. I have found out that the graphics card is reaching temperatures of 105 degrees C when playing games. I have cleaned all the fans in the pc with air. I have been told the heat sync is probably no longer functioning correctly. GPU temp is 66 deg C when the pc is in normal use and fan speed 40%. As soon as I play games the fan goes to 100% and the temperatures rise until the card crashes.

Nov 26, 2009ok I have no idea on this one and the good news is i can't fix it LOL.
i have an hp m9340f purchased a couple new nvidea graphics cards when I started getting the noisy fan issue .
Installed windows 7 everything worked great but was having problems with windows media center after I went to a 56k connection so i decided to format start over,
Everytime it installs the drivers for my nvidea graphics card my monitor goes black and has no signal. i tried both dif cards. same problem. I am guessing it is the recommended settings but since I only have one monitor I can't change the settings cause.. can't see to do it, and I have no other monitor to hook to to try.
I can start up in safe mode so any idea's how to fix this issue or change it all to 800 x 600 so i can see when it starts up with new drivers .....

Sep 20, 2012Since the past 6 months i have been using my PC using my onboard graphics which is HD4200 (must be ATI), but prior to that i used to have my GTX 460 installed in this PC but it was on a 32 bit windows 7. On 6th Sept 2012 i re fitted my GTX 460 with the latest drivers of that day ( first i uninstalled the ATI drivers from device manager and then used driver sweeper in safe mode) but soon after installing the GTX in 5 minutes got a BSOD but all i could see was a percentage counter like 0-5-10-15... 100 and a reboot. All this happened in 5 seconds max i guess. I reformatted the PC and this time installed the previous WHQL drivers from nvidia namely 295.xx something but they didnt work either.All i had left to do was to remove the GPU and reinstall the onboard drivers and without my gpu pc worked great.

I went to Nvidia's website in order to download the drivers for my graphics card but there are no drivers available for Windows 7 designed to my card. I've downloaded the latest drivers there (Forceware 96.85, compatible with Vista) and they work. However there are two problems. The first is that I notice some small delays when I'm working normally with the computer, using Aero. The second one is that I can't access nVidia's app that manages the card's options.

However, when I installed the drivers, it completely disabled my motherboard's onboard Realtek Azalia soundcard, and for the last few days I've had no sound at all. Nothing I've done has fixed the problem, and every time I try to uninstall the drivers for everything relating to my video card, the HDMI audio devices reinstall themselves from no discernible source every single time I boot up like a virus.I'm about ready to take this pathetic video card back to the shop and demand a refund and get a video card that is not going to screw with my computer like this.

Jul 27, 2012I recently purchased a new Graphic Card (Nvidia Geforce 670) and ever since I've experienced random freezes and moments where it's drivers stopped working.When the freeze happens It'll remain frozen until I reset the PC and if I've speakers on it'll blow out a nasty BZZZZZZ sound.the freezes appear to occur randomly. It can go days without them and sometimes (like now, I had less then an hour inbetween)In addition to that I quite frequently (daily at least) have my monitors go black and I get the "Nvidia Drivers stopped working" message. If I'm lucky it'll revert back to a previous stage where it worked fine and all I've to do is reboot the programs i'm running. If I'm unlucky, it doesn't stop until i've pushed the reset button.I don't know for sure that it's the new card causing it but considering the circumstances and the issues I'd say it is. Before this card I ran AMD's 6970 without any issues.

Sep 15, 2009i have a MSI notebook with Nvidia Geforce 8400M G.
i recently installed windows 7 professional (final version, not RC or beta), and discovered a serious problem: it doesn't recognize my Graphic card. instead it claims i have a "Standard VGA graphic adapter" (in dxdiag, device manager etc.). because of that i cant download any Nvidia drivers, cause the setup always says "Nvidia couldn't find a driver compatible with your hardware". that's, again, because windows 7 doesn't recognize my card.
i tried also uninstalling the VGA adapter from device manager, but after restarting it just installing it again.
is there anything i can do? should i wait for windows updates to come and fix my problem? i really don't want to install windows again. is my card not supported, is my Computer not supported?

Nov 9, 2009I am using a Sony vaio laptop VGN-SZ75GN. I recently upgraded my windows vista business 32-bit to a windows 7 ulitmate 64-bit using a clean installation.
I have a external graphic card which is NVIDIA� GeForce� 8400M GS notebook graphics processing unit(GPU) (SPEED MODE) / Intel� Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 (STAMINA MODE). After installing Windows 7, it couldn't detect the graphic card. This was done by looking at the device manager saying that it only detected a standard VGA Graphic Adapter. I tried to check for updates, but it said that the standard VGA Graphic Adapter was the best driver software. I looked around the forum like a headless chicken and couldn't find a solution for my laptop.
Can anyone find a solution for my problem?

my friend told me HP laptops are made customized for the specific graphics card and i would have to buy another laptop. i am not down to spend 2000 bones on a new laptop with everything working with windows 7 on this current one with the only flaw an outdated driver!!!
