I just bought a D-Link Wireless USB Adapter (specs in ipconfig) and I cannot for the life of me get access to the internet, but the weird thing is I had access for like 10 minutes and it went back to this. I can login to my Bell 2Wire router/modem network and then i get no access. (yellow caution at wireless icon task tray in bottom right). My password encryption is set to WPA2-PSK (AES)
Things I have tried:
netsh in cmd
ipconfig release/renew
installation of software and then manual install of driver, clean un/install both times
ipv4 manual entering of info, ip, dns, subnet etc
disabling of ipv6
[code].....
Also, the signal on my 2wire modem/router sucks, and want to setup my linksys router to emit a better signal. The configuration in 192.168.2.1 in my browser is quite confusing, and am wondering what exact items i must disable in order to turn it into a 'dumb' modem? I know i must configure my linksys to use PPPoE with the login information of the 2wire and hook that up from any port on the 2wire to the 'Internet' port on the linksys. Is this correct? Also, is there anything else I have to do?
[code] I never had this issue on Windows Vista, occasionally my internet will randomly dropout. Limited Internet Access". When it does I can do a few things to get it working again:
- Disable, then enable my wireless card and reconnect. - Uninstall the card, then re-install and reconnect. - Disconnect from the internet myself and reconnect.
Either way it gets super frustrating. There is 1 other computer plugged directly into the router that does not experience any issues. In addition, I have 1 laptop (windows 7) that works great and 1 laptop (Windows XP) which works great.
My internet connection keeps dropping periodically.I get the below dialog box and on clicking 'redial' it connects again but again i get the same dialog box in 10-15 minutes.I use windows 7.Tbh i have 0 knowledge of all this LAN related things so i am attaching screenshots of various details of my PC.Please let me know if you need any more details.[Here on right clicking 'Local Are connection 2'->properties->configure->Advanced Tab the setting there are:
Flow control - Disabled InterruptModeration - Enabled Network address - Not present Receive Buffers - 160 Speed and Duplex settings-Auto negotiation Transmit buffers-160 ]
I have a Netgear WNR-2000v2 broadband router (for PPPoE connections such as iBurst). I am getting a 4MB/s ADSL line soon which comes with an ADSL modem (not wireless)Will i be able to connect the modem to my netgear router via Ethernet and then connect to the internet wirelessly?
When my computer says Internet Access, I am having trouble browsing. Most pages do not load.Right now, It says no internet access for over 15 minutes and I am able to brose so much better and still going on downloading around 400 kb/s.(I am on a wired connection from a cable internet with NetGear CGD24G Cable Modem (I don't think it is a wireless router). There is wireless connection on the modem, but I am on a wired connection, and I am posting this while it still says no internet access).
anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110, Intel core 3 processor, and Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit os. I have recently reinstalled windows 7 from the windows 8 os. I can't access my wireless internet, I can only get to the internet via hard wire. I have searched Dell and Intel for the network controller driver and the sm bus controller driver, but to no avail.
Recently, a "Limited Access" signal has been coming up beside my internet access signal, even though it's got full access and the wireless connection is fine .
laptop so I reformatted his laptop and when I try to to connect to the internet via WiFi I could connect but I would have limited access. I can connect to the internet with my old laptop, iphone and xbox. But I cant connect to my newly reformatted laptop
internet connection sharing: No internet access!?I am trying to setup internet connection sharing between my laptop (Connected to WiFi) and my pc which has no wireless connection. I've spent a day or two troubleshooting problems such as 'LAN' doesn't have valid configuration and such, i found a solution and I've got the two connections to be able to see each other, but i can't get an internet connection to go through.I have my ipconfig /all for both computers available: (Both have had excess trimmed off to save on character limit)[CODE]
Am using dell inspiron laptop with windows 7 home premium 64 bit , i have a free wifi in our collage when i give connect it was getting connected but there is no internet access i had tried with trouble shoot it was giving problem regarding DNS
A few days ago the public wireless internet i used worked fine and i had no problems with my computer. Now when i try to connect to it, it isn't allowing me access. It works just fine on my sisters laptop that is the same model and brand as mine.

i'm trying to connect 2 laptops via ad hoc so that i could share the internet the server computer is a xp sp 2, the client is the default 7 starter of my laptop.the ad hoc seems to be fine, and i can share files between them, but win 7 can not access the internet and says "no internet access"
For some reason my hp notebook will not connect to the internet, its just stopped working recently and I cant seem to find the problem. It says I have signal to my router. When I open the browser it says I am not connected, if I try and run the connection wizard/ diagnosis it says an error occured while troubleshooting an unexpected error has occurred, the troubleshooting wizard can't continue.
This is a problem that has probably been solved but I have spent some time looking for the solution without success.
Windows 7 (6.1.7100 build 7100) indicates that I have no Internet connection in spite of the fact that I can browse without any problems (see attached image).
Mostly this is not a problem except that I want to connect to an external server to upload files. Normally I use map network drive for this. When I attempt this, I fail because it doesn't see the Internet connection.
I have tried the following solutions which haven't worked Disabling link scanning in AVG Disabling all other network connections
I was installing a software on my other laptop (it had SQL software with it) and I ran into some trouble as I got error problems that the installation of the software had failed and now whatever I do, I can't access the web! Sure enough, my wireless connection connects successfully and it indicates that I am on the "Internet" but every time I try to use either firefox or internet explorer to go to a web site, it says I don't have a connection.
I am running a modem and wireless router which is working fine. I have my home computer up and running (Windows 7)- no problems at all. However, my work laptop (windows 7 professional) will connect to my wireless network but will not 'access' the internet. I have set up a connection from scratch; changed the network settings; restarted (everything) plugged in wth Ethernet cord; run a router check... and honestly I am way out of my league in figuring this one out.I tried several of the solutions for forum threads around the problem of 'connected to internet but no internet access', but part of my confusion is that one computer works fine, but the other simply won't allow access. When I use a when I use an open network it won't allow me on at all. But when I set up my private network it will connect and show internet access for 10 SECONDS at a time and then No access... like a constant flicker...

I have a Dell Laptop and use a MiFi internet connection. For some reason I can't connect to the internet since last night. I see that it says my IPV4 and IPV6 connections have "no Internet and Network access".
I have just come back off holiday to find that my 2 week old Acer aspire running windows 7 home premium will not connect to the internet, but my girlfriends laptop connects just fine, this is very frustrating. I am not running any adobe software or running antivirus / firewall software at the moment. I can connect to the router, I just don't have internet access what so ever!Whilst on holiday I managed to pickup a BTOpenzone network, but due to ridiculous browsing prices, I just left it. Before anyone asks, yes I have tried disabling and enabling, releasing and renewing etc, I don't understand how I can fix this problem! I have tried everything I can think of!I ran ipconfig /all and this was the result[CODE]
For some weird reason I can only access the internet through IE8.I'm on a wired ethernet directly to the modem and up until a week ago everything worked fine. I then had the bright idea of installing a wired router so two computers could access the internet at the same time.Obviously I did something wrong because the while the original computer now continues to access the internet through the modem just fine (I removed the router), after reconnecting my computer to the modem and resetting the modem all I can use is IE8.
A couple days ago, I grudgingly allowed someone to install Norton on my desktop computer. It's running Windows 7, fyi. Immediatly after it was installed, I was unable to connect to the internet. It can find my router, and it tells me I'm connected, but with limited access, and all it says is identifying. So I can't get onto the internet. I tried the troubleshooter built into Windows 7, and it told me there isn't a problem. I tried to system restore back to before I installed Norton, and I tried two or three times, and it failed everytime. I tried to return my windows firewall to its recommened settings, and it said it can't change some of my settings. My computer is the only device having the problem, which led me to believe it was Norton's fault. So I uninstalled Norton, and it didn't fix the problem. I tried to use a network cable to share the internet connnection from my laptop (which works fine), and it had the same problem as when I tried wirelessly.
I tried reseting my TCP/IP stack, and that didn't work. I'm not sure what I should do. I'd be grateful for any insights you might have =DNorton also found 6 high level trojans, apparently, which it promptly got rid of, so the problem could be that it messed up one of my system 32 files, but I don't have a windows disk lying around to repair with, so I was hoping to try some other fixes before I go out and buy a new disk
This is the 3rd laptop this month that has had this issue. When I boot up, I have no internet access, wireless or wired, but when I go into Safemode, everything is fine. I have already done the basic steps, you know, the troubleshooter, Malwarebytes(found nothing) and I do have a HijackThis log file if you want it. Anyway, the first 2 machines, I formatted them to fix the issue, but now that I have a 3rd one with the issue, I would like to get to the bottom of it!
i download windows7 Pro on my computer which use to be a Win Xp but now i have No internet acces some thinglike that and i am feeling soo bad! plasse if u can help me how to fix this problem tell me. And also when i go to ControlPanel>Uninstall Programs i see thing there i mean no programs.
I'm running Windows 7 home premium. I seem to be unable to access Internet Options both from the desktop shortcut and control panel. I've tried restoring the system to an earlier point and this has failed (Error 0x80070005 failed to extract the file Windowssystem 32driverssfi.dat).
I have a laptop dell inspiron with W7, I tried to get online but it say no proxy server found. First I thought it might be my internet provider, then I tried with another computer andthe internet worked fine. The net-bios say no while in the other computer it says yes. my computer had a virus but now it completely clean
A friend of mine brought this laptop to fix. I tried explaining him why being a java developer and linux user does not make you qualified to solve these kind of problems, but he didn't want to listen.I tried using ethernet, booting into safe mode, removing 0.0.0.0 route, winsockfix and reseting ip stack, disabling ipv6, removing network card, reinstalling netowork drivers, scanning with security essentials and some malware scanners. Although he told me that he tried installing Dr Web and it failed so it may be some sort of virus/malware/rootkit that was undetected by both security essentials and various rootkit/malware applications (Malwarebyte's anti-malware, tdskiller)DHCP does not seem to be working so I had to specify settings by hand. I can ping to router and other local machines but that's about it. I can't event load html/php from router. DNS does not work either. Pinging ISP DNS fails with: "PING: transmit failed. General failure.".
