My Gateway M-series Internal Microphone Is Not Working
Jun 14, 2011
My gateway M-series internal microphone is not working. I don't have the original CD for my computer. I do have Windows 7. What is the correct driver for my microphone?
I just purchased Aspire 5733z, 8 MB Ram, Windows7, 64 Bit Notebook.I have been setting it up a little each day.The Built-in MICROPHONE does not work when making phone calls using Yahoo or even magic jack. After the first day of purchase it starting making a high pitch noise and so I turned decip down. I played with it for the next few days and well still no one can hear me on the other end.Where is the Microphone located and is there something covering it when bought new that I need to remove?
I did EVERYTHING I could to fix it! But it still doesn't work! I have my internal built in mic enabled and whenever i make a soung the green bar thing raises up, but when I record myself the green bar moves but I can't hear myself talk when i watch the video?
I have a Dell Vostro 1500, running 32-bit Windows 7. It came with Vista, but I upgraded to Windows 7 a couple months ago, which I think is causing the issues I'm experiencing. According to whoever I'm speaking with, the sound for the microphone built in to my webcam fades in and out and gets really loud randomly. In an attempt to solve this, I bought an external microphone which also does not work. The sound driver is the SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC, version 6.10.0.5614. When I tried to update it through Windows 7's update driver software it says I have the best version for my system, but I still suspect that this could be what is causing the problem.
I have a HP pavilion 6047cl. I can hear but can not be heard. Is there a key on the keyboard that maybe I have hit that turned off the ability of others to hear me?
I am trying to disable the internal microphone on my Dell Studio laptop 1555 but nothing seems to be working. I've already tried disabling everything in the 'Recording' tab of my system's Sound options but the internal mic is still on somehow.
Recently received my U400 and the microphone worked great. However, at some point during a Skype call, my partner could not hear me very well and was only able to hear static on my end.
I checked my sound setting and under the "Recording" tab, the Conexant Internal Microphone was very active and "loud" (as if I was constantly talking). I went under properties and checked "Listen to this device" and all I could hear was static. I tried talking but couldn't hear myself. Lowering microphone level didn't seem to change the amount of static I hear from my microphone. I turned off mic boosts and enhancements, but it didn't change static.
Internal microphone is set as default device. Stereo mix is similarly active and loud. Driver version is 8.54.19.0. (up to date). Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
Tried uninstalling driver and letting Windows install a new driver, but problem persisted. Pretty much can't use microphone to record, but it shows that it is active and is receiving a lot of sound somehow.
I own a GateWay laptop NV51B15u series. I was simply wondering if I would be able to upgrade the processor to something more powerful. Currently it is 1.6 GHz, and I play a lot of PC games, so wanted something a bit faster, at least 2.4 GHz. I know this is not a gaming computer, though it has surprised me, and I love him. Even runs Dead Island full graphics, which surprised me. Anyways, my current processor is a 1.6GHz dual-core AMD E-Series.
My laptop is from this series [URL] and I'm not able to get any audio through my tv when I connect via HDMI. I was previously looking at this thread No audio coming out of HDMI and decided to try my luck here with the same issue, just with my laptop model.
I have an HP Pavilion g series computer. My web internal web cam has stopped working. When I go onto YouCam it keeps coming up with a message saying no web cam was detected. My knowledge on the workings of a computer are very limited.
I just recently upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate and I found that I was having multiple problems with the sound. I have solved the problem with my speakers/headphones after upgrading drivers (et al.), but my microphone is not being recognized. When I go to the Speaker Icon in the system tray and right-click to bring up the dialog then go to recording devices, what I get is this: No audio devices are installed. The playback dialog shows the correct information: High definition audio device. Default device.
when I plug my headphones into the rear jack of my computer (there is no front jack) the speaker portion works fine. It's the microphone that does not work. The computer has no problem detecting the microphone and it says that it is working properly. The mute on the headphone set is not turned on, nor any muting button on the computer. I have Windows 7 pro installed. I've have updated the Microsoft drivers and still did not work. I then tried the Realtek drivers and updated them as well with no success. The microphone work perfectly on my other computer that has 7 Premium on it. The motherboard is a new ASUS Rampage IV.
I bought a Steelseries Siberia V2 headset (non usb model), and the headphones work fine, but the mic doesn't seem to respond to any applications at all.I have updated my audio drivers and tried different audio jacks on my PC but nothing will solve this problem.I have gone into recording devices in Windows and ticked "listen to this device" and I can hear myself speaking through the headset, but when I try and use it on Skype or Steam chat it is non responsive. The volume bar next to the microphone in recording devices doesn't go up when I speak even though I can hear myself speaking.
I just migrated from Windows XP to Windows 7, and installed Skype, the same version that worked perfectly for me on the old computer, but I can't get the microphone to work. I've gone through all the troubleshooting tips Skype provides, but no matter what I do, it's not working. On the XP I didn't have to do any configuring, just plug in and go. When I plug in the mic on Windows 7 I get a popup from 'Dell Audio. The mic is turned up all the way, not muted, and it says ON at the bottom of the screen.I've gone into the sound settings from Control Panel, and every tab says that everything is working properly, and I've got the in-line mic enabled.
I recently wiped my laptop clean and reinstalled with windows 7 and the driver for my built-in microphone is not showing up and I can not use my microphone in any program.
I have an Acer Aspire 6530g which i upgraded to windows 7 a few years ago. I did a clean install of windows 7. Since this upgrade i have not been able to get my microphone to work, despite spend DAYS researching it.
I have installed the latest Realtek drivers ive checked that the devices are not muted or anything.
I recently wiped my laptop clean and reinstalled with windows 7 and the driver for my built-in microphone is not showing up and I can not use my microphone in any program. I've tried updating everything.
I recently buy a headset with microphone with the Pink/Green jacks The earset part of them works fine, but the mic part doesn't at all.The system doesn't even pick up that a mic is plugged in. I have tried both the front and back jacks of my PC with the same issues. Under the Recording Tab in Sound it reads, NO audio devices are instaled, and I have the Show disabled devices checked. My biggest issue is I use gtalk and can't talk on it with this issue.
I followed this step>>>>
1. Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices".
2. Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
3. Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".
4. Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
5. Click Apply.
6. Select Microphone and click on Properties.
7. Click on Levels tab. The default Microphone Boost is set to 0,increase it.but after Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".I do not find any Microphone.
I do school online and I cannot stay connected to the internet with this computer. I have a TOSHIBA SATELLITE L675 with Windows 7 on it. I have done troubleshooting with Comcast who is the cable company I'm through and they said everything is fine and I should have no issues. When I am on the computer for a few minutes I get the status bar on the bottom with the yellow triangle and exclamation point. When I have windows troubleshoot it all it says is, DEFAULT GATEWAY NOT AVAILABLE.
It looks like this is a fairly common issue, but I can't seem to figure out what the solution is, or if there is a solution.
Yesterday (10/25/09), I installed Win 7 Home Premium on my wife's Gateway MX8739 Notebook (Pentium Dual-Core, 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM). It has a built-in SD card reader, which always worked fine under Vista. Vista came pre-installed on the machine when we got it 18 months ago or so. Under the new Win 7 installation, the SD slot doesn't seem to be recognized. There's nothing wrong with the card itself--it works fine in her camera.
I tried the O2 Flash Memory Card Driver 3 that was mentioned in another thread with no affect. Has anyone had this problem and successfully fixed it?
It's a Toshiba Laptop with Windows 7 Installed. (Original Copy). However, just about 2 day's back, I could not use my Microphone Inbuilt as it was not working. Fyi, the Speakers are working perfectly. Have checked the Laptop and found the Drivers all installed, but could not find any error. We have been using this Laptop for mostly skype calls and used extensively. It would be almost 3 months now. But just a couple of days back that the Mic did not start functioning.
