View 2 RepliesIs there a way for me to set up automatic logging in at start up of, lets say, 4-5 user accounts? The accounts serve no purpose other than running different instances of a program that I could then manage from my main account, but for each instance to initialize, I have to manually log in to each account on system startup. (I'm also seeking to find a way to hide those accounts, but I can't do so yet because I have to log in to each account every time I restart my computer.) So a program or registry edit of some sort would be most helpful
I've done some research, but as of now, I've only found a way to auto-log in one account (presumably intended for main accounts) so this is useless to me. ("control userpasswords2" in Run)
Just to clarify, all of my accounts are password protected, though the additional accounts have very basic passwords (which is required). I do want to keep a password on my main account, and I don't want to auto log in my main account.
Is it possible to run software on multiple user accounts at same time?Meaning, other user accounts mimic what the main user account does? For example, if I run Calc.exe, multiple 8 by 8, getting 64, and then this is automatically done on all the other user accounts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a lab technician for Microsoft classes at a community college. One of our students somehow messed up his hard drive. The computer is running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64-bit. The system has two administrator accounts and one standard user account. I am still able to logon with those accounts and there are SID keys for each of these users in the registry.
Now when we create a new user, the account is created without any problems. The user shows up on the logon page and after running the net user command, it shows up there as well. When I try to logon with the new user, I get a message: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.
None of the new user accounts show up in the registry. The other anomaly that I see is that the Default User folder is missing in each of the Users subdirectory for the three accounts where I have no problems.
I have read the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 947215 and none of the methods apply to my problem. I also checked Local Group Policies and the Do not logon users with temporary profiles setting is not configured.
For more than a year, my system had just one user ie my personal user. Since the past few days, I've created an account for my dad as well and I'm facing some problems now.Since I've created an account for him, I cannot log in to my account on the first attempt. After typing in the password to log in, I just see a message saying "Welcome". I have to power off my laptop, reboot it and then log in again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have windows 7, one thing I have trouble with is getting individual accounts to act as individual accounts. I want to have a user account for me and one for my wife. I want each one to have their own google chrome browser and their own google drive accounts. I may in the future want to download programs on one or the other user account without them showing up on both accounts. I think I may have messed up when setting up and made the admin my account rather than having an admin account plus two other user accounts, one for me and one for my wife.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs a family we have 4 active hotmail accounts. A while back we were able to have all four accounts displayed on the hotmail login menu. This made it easy because we didn't have to enter the account's hotmail email address. Because all four were displayed, all we had to do was click on an account, enter the password when so prompted and we were logged in.Then, it suddenly disappeared. Now we're back to entering the hotmail account in order to login. So, how do I get it back to the way it was.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my friends laptop, when she boots it up, it gets to the log-on screen and instead of having her account there, it's just the blank blue background and it doesn't say the Windows 7 bit at the bottom of the screen or have the shut down/sleep mode options and the cursor is in the middle of the screen, but it's not the normal cursor, it's larger and looks like the cursor from older versions of Windows. It is also frozen in place, and you can't move it. And when you close her laptop, it stays on instead of going black. We've tried looking it up already, but it's either just people having similar problems on other operating systems or people who are only missing some user accounts and can still log in on one. We're pretty sure it can't be a virus, because she scans her PC regularly with Avast, MalwareBytes, SUPERAntiSpyware and Spybot. (She also has McAfee, which came with her PC and when she tried to uninstall it, it made her computer bluescreen and then start frequently bluescreening randomly for a while, but soon stop)
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn Windows 7 that I am having here I have number of users using it and they have their account as well on it. Well that is not the issue there. Now I have seen that when the user tries to login to the account he can see a message saying that the user profile is not loaded correct manner. After that it just gets the user logged in an account. After seeing the login I have seen that Windows make the loggin for that user in with a temporary profile.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have one PC on which I am running Windows 7 ultimate and Windows XP (via MS Virtual PC 2007).I have downloaded Windows Easy Transfer for Windows XP (wet7xp_x86.exe) and installed it onto the the VM running XP.I have created several accounts on the XP VM but during the transfer only the administrator user account that I am logged into in VM XP is transferred into Windows 7. Should not all the accounts be transferred simultaneously? What am I doing wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have multiple @hotmail.com accounts for personal and business purposes. I used to be able to see them all on the sign in page (very useful!) but now that has suddenly disappeared and there is space for only one email address (plus for some reason I have to type the entire address!) every time I want to access an account.
View 1 Replies View Relatedseen lots of threads about this error message but not in this context so I'm thinking I might get some joy from you oracle like marvels.
A customer I saw today had a family Windows 7 PC with four user profiles on it. All worked apart from one called Hannah. When selected it started to load but then just showed "The user profile service failed to logon. user profile cannot be loaded"
the account was hardly used (Hannah is 9) so we decided to delete it and make a new one with a different name. For some reason the exact same thing happened!
Reading up on this people say to open regedit and go to HKEYLOCAL MACHINE>software>microsoft>windowsnt>currentversion>profilelist. All the profiles for the three working profiles were there but the profile for Hannah or the new profile I made wasnt present.
I use my laptop for general use but also for processor intensive home studio audio recording. Rather than disable wirless, anti-virus software and a bunch of other things that can help me reduce processor drain each and every time I use it for music, I'd love to be able to have a different profile or maybe user account so that when I start up and choose that user/profile, wireless will automatically be disabled, most non-essential software (such as anti virus since I am not online) will not be run, etc.
I created a second user that I intended to use for the music related work. However, when I look at the hidden startup folder associated with either user, I see nothing (I have chosen to view hidden folders and files). If I run msconfig, I see many programs on the startup list. Amongst those are is antivirus software. It appears that when I deselect any program, it will not run regardless of which user I log in as, so it must be some sort of global setting. I still want most programs to run when I log in to use the laptop for general use (e.g. when I surf the web, I want the antivirus software to be active), so making such a global change does not seem to help me.My question is, can I somehow make these programs run only when I log in as a certain user? If not, is there another possible solution that would allow me to achieve the goals described above? Also, is there a way to selectively activate/deactivate wireless depending on which user I log in as?
I have an admin account, but it's the only account for my computer. I used to have plenty of old accounts, some of which were also admin accounts. When I decided to delete them, I chose to keep the files just in case. Now I realize I don't need them but it won't let me delete them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I boot my machine (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) I get to the user accounts log in screen where it attempts to auto login and fails. I click the little "ok" button and see two user accounts, myself (BlackViper) and "Other" with no picture, and a blank for the password.I have no password on my account, but when I click on the icon associated with my account, it asks for one. I can leave it blank and log in just fine.I then "log off" and see three user accounts at the log in screen (Administrator), (BlackViper), and (Anawvyah). At this point I can access any of the three, and they all work just fine and the correctly associated pictures are there...

I can have only the admin account with these other accounts deleted without it causing any computer problems correct? I believe this is the case but I just want to make dang sure first.
View 14 Replies View RelatedA month or so ago I noticed I could not listen to Cartalk (A PBS radio show) online when I always could before. Tried to troubleshoot. Reset IE8 and still no joy. It works just fine with Google Chrome so I know it is related to IE8.
Just created a new account (standard vs. my admin) and of course I can listen just fine on that account. Again tried to troubleshoot. Looked at add-ons. Made them identical, still no joy. Once again completely reset IE8 and still nothing.
So why would the website work just fine with the standard account and not my admin account? This is driving me crazy. I know I can use the standard account or chrombut I really want to know why this is happening.
not all my user accounts are showing it shows the user account of the last person that logged in and then it shows other user then when i click on it i have to type my user name and password in i dont want other users to show up just all the accounts

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with creating new user accounts, admin or otherwise. Login works fine, but icons are all generic and windows explorer turns up the "page failed to load" error. In contrast, my regular admin acct works perfectly. I noticed this after a hard shutdown but am unsure there is a connection. I performed a system restore from an earlier restore point from before the unsafe shutdown but no luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to merge my account into the main administrator account. The main Admin account is basically untouched and can be overwritten in the case of any conflicts. My current account is also an Administrator account. I'm trying to move it to the main one to be able to bypass the login screen. I can not delete the other Admin account because it is the main one and does not have the "delete account" option (however the Admin account I use and have all my files on does have the "delete account" option)

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I deleted an account that seemed to be automatic with Windows 7. It was not one that myself or my husband set up, but on that seemed to be administrator-type. I don't recall if it required a password. Anyway, I had no idea what it was for so I deleted it. Since then, I have noticed that windows is not working as well and I have a lot of issues with different webpages (even popular ones like Google & Facebook).Any idea what it was and how to get it back

My computer suddenly tells me it can't open my pictures on one of my user accounts by asking what file do I want to use to open it or to go online to search for an opening file. I tried to start a new user account, and I'm told I need to tell what file I want to use to complete and open this account.
I can't login in Guest user. My administrator account is working properly and without any problems, but my guest account doesn't. When I login to that account then its automatically logging off and coming back to the login Screen.I created standard user, but anyway I can't login there. When I click the icon it automatically logs off.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop from my employer that I want to return as my contract is ending. However I am keen to ensure that I delete all my personal info as I also have work for another contract on it which is quite commercially sensitive (unfortunately I had a period when income would not allow me to have a second machine to keep everything separate). Naturally I have transferred everything I want to another machine and so that is safe.I have deleted everything I want to from the (dell) laptop, and used CC cleaner to wipe the free space, but I note that there is a file still left in one folder with a name that refers to the other company. If the first company sees that name they may think I have leaked info to a competitor and not want to offer me another contract later this year. I have tried all I can to delete the file but I get an error message saying it can't be located (0 bytes) which I assume is because I have already deleted it. I have tried logging off / on 10 times and tried to find the file but of course it is not actually there. I have two questions, how can I delete this ghost file, and / or how can I delete my User Account so that when I return the machine, nothing can be recovered? Of course because it's a company machine, although I have admin rights as I need to be able to install programmes etc; I may not have Full rights. I have tried to add another user so I can log on as that user to remove my existing account, but I get an error message about Trust accounts.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOkay so this is my problem; About two weeks ago my mother got to keep a laptop from work because she was moving schools and it was "outdated".It was on a school domain so it had her login from the schools. At the login page all i had to do was type "name.name" and the password and that was fine. She did not use the laptop anymore so she gave it to me.Even though she was a administrator i was getting sick of logining in as her all the time so i tried to create a new account. I want in to controle pannel and tried to make one but it came up with domain and user name. i tried to create a account but it was saying the rustrelationship with this domain and Lt-D-8JK12S. (the laptop) were denied.I went through another way to create a account through some workgroup thing , it worked. When i had to log on i would have to type Lt-D-8Qjk12Susername and password It only happened about two days ago that it started to have some problems.I could only log on to my account even though it had many different users in the laptops hard drive. it would say that i got my password wrong when i tried to type.the main problem is that i cant do anything because i am not an administrator and i kept being denied when trying making system changes and copy files on to a memory stick.
