I like the "TIVO" menu sounds and have found them on the web. They are in ".wav" format. Is there a method to installing these sound files in Media Center 7 and also coordinate them as in "TIVO" I apologize in advance if this has been covered in this forum. I have performed an exhaustive search, rewording my query several times, to no avail.

The videos opened up in Windows Media Player, apparently.
Played Ok.
But now, when I click on other Desktop icons having absolutely nothing to do with pix or video, Windows Media Center opens up. It's as if it has taken over my PC. Also, all my icons on the bottom left of my screen (the Start Menu I think it is called ?) now have generic icons. Also a bunch on my Desktop, but not all. Clicking on any of these also opens up the Windows Media Center. How do I get my normal looking icons to show again correctly, and operate correctly?
I would like to make windows media center automatically start in Live TV mode when I click on the WMC desktop icon.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm in grave problem here. I just installed windows 7 x64 a few days back. And initially I installed the 32bit version of k-lite codec pack for my windows media player. The media center worked fine then. It was loading my ffdshow and ac3filter along as I checked it.But then yesterday I noticed that the same pop-up od recommended/express install of WMP came again. Initially I thought that it must be some bug or something, but then when my MKV and AVI files didn't work in WMC, I realized that somehow WMP x64 got triggered, and now it is using the x64 bit of WMP in WMC. And I just wanna revert back to 32-bit WMP in WMC.

This DVD player is an external player and I have no problem with playback on my Dual boot with Vista Home Premium.
Any suggestions?
I was modding Morrowind and I added one too many which broke it, so I uninstalled it, thinking i could just re-install it. But then it didnt work, so i used uniblue registry booster to clean my system registry, and after that no music or sound (apart from the UAC bloop sound) worked.

I'm trying to turn off the sound on the media panel on my Toshiba A500-02J. The sound is muted when I mute it off the panel (that is, until I press volume up/down). But I'm trying to stop the beeping when pressing the volume buttons. I've gone to the system tray, and speakers, and turned off system volume. I've also gone to Sounds in the Control Panel but I haven't found anything specific on this.
I'm not sure whether I need to use a Toshiba application or just a general Windows one to turn it off.
I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of RAM, and an i7 processor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This laptop computer has an Intel Core i3 processor.My problem is that my Skull Candy headphones will let me hear everything except the files in my Windows Media Player. When I try to play those files, the files will play through my speakers even when the headphones are plugged into the headphone jack.When I unplug the headphones, everything works fine

And I have Foobar (portable) as the default program for .mp3.Usually the icons on .mp4, .avi, .mp3 files get updated with the icons of the assigned media players.But on this PC it's not working. They're still the same icons as if WMP was the default player.Does it have to do with the Standard user account? (Because on other PCs I run from an Admin account and I don't have such problems.)

1) I can watch TV via TV card, but can I watch TV from another source such as HDMI or AV from my satalite reciever or PS3?
2) Can WMC work with a dual monitor graphics card? I would like to transmit the media center screen via AV to monitors & speakers, while being able to use the PC for other use via VGA connection.
I used to run media centre wired and it worked fine. Trying to clean up cables running all over the place Ive tried wirelessly yet its almost to the point that it doesnt work at all as its incredibly slow and takes about a minute to react to controller input.Im running a TP-LINKTD-W8930N 300Mbps router.

in Win 7 Ultimate I insert a DVD, and the only options for playback are Windows Media Player and Real Player - with Vista, I used to have an option to play the DVD in Windows Media Center, which is what I want. Is there a way to get this option back?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave a Dell Vostro 3500 running Win 7 32 bit. When trying to view a pdf from within IE, it will attempt to open it with Windows Media Center. Adobe Reader has been installed, and when checking file assocaitions in Windows and IE, they are set to Adobe Reader. Now, if you save the pdf to the desktop, or some other location on the hard drive, it will then open with Adobe Reader as it should.

On my main computer I have added my folders of music and movies to the libaray ....
In the HTCP remote computer I set the home group etc ... I open Media Center .. I can scroll to shared and see my main computer but non of the files appear.
I have gone to the main computer and checked share this folder etc ... Still cant view the files.
What am I doing wrong ?
While playing a DVD in Windows 7 Media Center (in version 7100, 7203, and 7260) that has been copies to the hard drive (in Video_TS format with AnyDVDHD-v6.5.5 running in the background), and using the My Movies plugin (tried both v2.54 and the new v2.55), if I press STOP on my Media Center Remote, the DVD stops, but is more in a Paused state. Let me see If I can clarify what is going on.
1. DVD's in Video_TS format play fine, can pause, FF, Rew, etc without any issues.
2. If I press stop, the DVD does stop. Then I would normally hit the BACK button to go back to the movie list. However, when I hit the BACK button I go to a new blank screen (with the media center blue background). I then hit BACK again, and am takin to a screen with movie details. If I hit BACK a third time, I would then return to the movie list.
3. However, once back in the movie list, I can see the stopped DVD in the lower left corner of the screen.
4. I can't seem to stop the movie like in Vista Media Center (which would automatically take me back to the movie list.
5. Also, if I click on the movie in the lower left corner of the screen, it comes up and starts the movie from where I left off. With Vista Media Center, a stopped movie would actually start over from the beginning.
Has anyone seen this problem, and know of a way to make it work like Vista Media Center?
need help in changing the DVD Audio setting under MC, DVD Audio setting menu. I want to change the audio setting to "Theatre Mode", instead of "Night Mode" ... to provide a full range of sound, but this option is grayed out. Does anybody know how to change this ..

Media center fails to recognize your set-top box or remote.After attempting a manual set-up w/ all possible codes & failure--exchange your set-top box w/ cable company for a different model as media center does not have all the codes within it--if not--borrow one--you will see.Verify the correct computer time and time zone.Media center fails to recocnize your IR cable sensor.Unplug & re_plug the cable. Relocate the IR sensor over the IR receiver on set-top box---use a bright flashlight to locate the sensor.Media center fails to download the correct channel guide

Verify w/ your cable company which guide you are viewing on your TV by having them tell you on the phone what program you are & should be viewing--careful--they make mistakes. I'm leaving town for a few days and want media center to continue to DVR my shows in my absence. Trouble is, we've been having intermittent power outages in the area and of course the computer is turned off when this happens. WMC wakes my PC fine from sleep or hibernation, Can it be configured to power on the PC when necessary?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make my wallpaper but when I scale or fit it with desktop personalization it cuts off an important part of it or it doesn't cover the whole screen.I want to take a full screen shot in Windows Media Center but whenever I take the screenshot I just get a black screen and not the screen shot.So it seems it may be a bug or something and I'm not the only one with the problem.I followed those steps and added what they told me to with Regedit but it still didn't work for me. The author in the article says to "restart" media center does that just mean to close the program and open it again? I tried that and it still didn't work.
