I am wondering if i should send in a petition to MS on this. I wonder if I overlook things and if it's a reasonable RFC.
1.) Opened a attatched Word document in Outlook webaccess (OWA) 2007
2.) Modified the docoment (2 hours of work in this case )
3.) Clicked the Save button and closed the document
4.) Realized myself it was saved in some tempfolder...
5.) Started looking for it by doing the same action (with same document...)
6.) Step 5 has probaply overwritten my work
Now why does IE9 overwrite (assuming step 6 is true) the file with exactly the same name? Normally it suffixes something like "(1)". I am suggesting MS should make a change in OWA (still used alot) and/or IE9 that a tempsaved file cannot be saved modified by a user again in a tempfolder. I am pretty much done with the fact this is still possible. It is also a nasty thing in business environments where you don't have access to folders like these.and why are the Temporary Internet files subfolders not visible in explorer. Only visible by pasting in the full pathname.
Recently I have problem using "save" command in MS Word.Every time I want to save my doc, a message appears "Word can not complete the save due to a file permission error".Fyi, I can save my doc with "save as" command.
I sent myself an email with a word document attached. I did this so I could finish the editing at home. I opened the attachment, edited the word document, then saved it when prompted when I closed the document. Where did I save the document? I can't find it.
When our users log off one of our departmental images, and they haven't saved their work in Word, as the machine logs off, they are asked if they want to save their work (as I would expect), but rather than being given the opportunity to say "yes", Word is instead just closed down, and the machine logs off.
Usually, I would expect it to wait a moment, then show the "waiting for programs to close" black window. This is what I want - but I'm not given that option - the system just logs off, and any unsaved work is lost!
Now - I know - the obvious answer is to tell the users to save the damn work before they log off - however, the users are kids, and worse, teaching staff... so asking them to do anything sensible is a bit of a waste of time!!!
I've looked at the "WaitToKillServiceTimeout" in the registry, and have tried increasing the timeout to 30 seconds, but it appears to make no difference at all.

I had to re install Windows today, but I seemed to have lost my Key and Disk for Office 2007 (I have the program files in a backup if that will help at all). Basically: am i screwed? My school sells Office 2010 for 20$ (or so I hear), but I have no money and it would be great if I didn't have to fork out cash for new Office software when I already spent over 100$ on it.
It's probably my fault since most things are. Yesterday I had trouble sending email. I looked in the add-ins and saw the COM addin for Microsoft Hotmail connector. Well, I couldn't find where to delete it and so I went to c:\Progra~2\common~1\system\msmapi\msncon32.dll and deleted that. I did a bad thing, didn't I? This morning my Personal Folder in Outlook Contacts, is gone.
How can I get it back?
I did a system restore but the Personal Folder in Contacts Outlook 2007 is not there. The add-in is.
With my Windows 7 Pro 32bit laptop(fully updated) I have issues with copy and paste. When I copy text from a file/document and then paste it into another file/document I have one of three things happen. One it will copy the text correctly, though if I press enter to go to a new line its as if the clipboard was emptied because I cannot paste again, two it will not paste anything as if I didn't copy before, or three it will paste a screenshot of what is currently on my screen into the document. If it does copy and paste correctly then when I open a new file or folder, the clipboard will empty so I can't paste the same thing into two different documents unless both documents were open when I fist copied the text. This issue also occurs whe trying to copy/cut files and move them to a new/different directory(if the paste location is not already open then the clipboard appears to empty).
I have a HP Touchsmart 300-1060a (Home Premium Windows 7 64 BIT) which I bought few years back. Now for the last 6 months or so I started getting issues with my machine was not displaying anything at all after turning it on. So I had to hard reset my power from the machine and then was able to see it started displaying again. At first I suspected graphic card (NVIDIA GEFORCE) but then I did my diagnostic test and nothing was found. One day, I started re-imaging my machine as a fresh and then after this it never came back ONLINE. I read all HP forums & even HP Online support was unable to help me to find the cause.Because when I turn on my machine I can see the power light was on and could hear big fan noise but mo HDD activity at all.So at this stage, I suspected either motherboard or BIOS but wasn't 100% sure what could be the real cause because I was sure it was not due to graphic card.So first I re-setted by my BIOS to see if it helps but it didn't came up at all. So then I took my machine to a Computer repair shop (a friend of mine) and we detected it could be due to the regulator which supplies power to the CPU and motherboard. So we replaced that part and now my HP Touchsmart is running fin since then. But I have lost my HP Startup logo with options such as below: [code]
when I go to print a document, sometimes the save window opens up and no matter what I do it will not print. I have a document save in a certain font size and when i try to print it the font increases by itself and its too big for the page.
When I scan a docoment, open it ,click "File" and click "send" I get a box that says "No E-Mail program associated to perform the requested action. Create an association in the default programs control panel" How do I do this step by step? I'm using windows 7 and a HP Photosmart 2610 all in one printer
I got done after writing this document for three weeks...Suddenly (today), my document appears to be blank. I didn't download anything..Didn't go on any porn sites (surprisingly), or anything. In fact I didn't go on anything after I finally finished my document, which was finished yesterday.[URL]When I highlight the document, it appears to be words there, it's just nothing shows up. It's as if all my text is white. However, the text is clearly black.
My fiance uses a word document to store all of her user accounts and passwords for them. I finally had her put a password on her word document file. BUT, I know this is easy to crack and want to know the most secure way to keep her accounts and passwords safe from snooping nerds like me, Does any have a very secure way to encrypt a word file? OR any other software to use to add the accounts in to encrypt?
When I open the start menu the only libraries showing under libraries are music, pictures & video. I can access the document library by clicking the main library title. I have tried restoring default libraries but still documents is missing.

So, just a question more out of curiosity than anything, as I don't expect a solution (I know, pessamistic...)It's time to renew my passport and the application form is a protected pdf (no modification, no comments - only printing). After wasting a day looking for restriction decryptors, I just went with making a blank document to "double-print" ontop of the application form. The tree-huggers are going to love this, but after wasting about 20 pages (rotation, page order, orientation etc...) and a lot of time I now have it sorted, but my question is: Does anyone know of an app to overlay print jobs instead of manually inserting paper back into the printer tray?
im not sure if this is a problem or if im going crazy, but i swear in c:/user?myname/documents there was more folders, like under library/documents, but now there isnt and im not sure if 1. this is a problem and 2. how to fix it. but like i said i could just be crazy, heres my video documents pc/ watch in 720 full screen - Internet, have to watch in 720 and full screen...if you dont want to watch the video or cant see heres some pics. also, a side note, i installed minecraft and i was trying to find were it was installed at, apparently its installed in the apps folder that is "hidden" i had to go into the minecraft options and click the file link and it opened my "hidden" folders.

I had a document I was working on and for one reason or another, my computer was restarted unwillingly. Anyway, once my computer had restarted and I opened MS office word 2010 I noticed the recovery panel contained my document along with several others , however without thinking I clicked on the down arrow and accidentally chose 'don't save'. The file was sent to the recycle bin after this point and given a computer generated filename starting with 'wr' and I restored the item, although when I restored the file I was not able to determine where its new location might be.
Does anyone know how to have the document map show on the side while you're also in the reading view mode?I've tried having the document map visible before clicking reading view, but it doesn't show up.
I opened a word 2010 document from an email in windows live mail desktop version and made some lengthy changes. Now I cannot find the document on my windows 7 system anywhere.
When I open a PDF file using Adobe, only one page opens, not the entire document. To access the next page, I have to open a new window. On my Vista computer, the entire document will open. How do I fix or change so the entire document opens?
when I opened Microsoft office this morning to finish my resume. The box came up asking me if I wanted to replace and save. Not thinking I hit replace. Now my document is gone because I replaced it with a blank page. I have performed all the searches such as wbk, tmp, autorecovery.
Doing some research for a co-worker.... He is running Windows 7 64 bit and trying to print a large PDF document. There are Horizontal black bands of differing lengths coming from the right hand side of the page. This is the only document he is having a hard time with and it does not happen on every page, Seems to be Random (except that they print they same way on the same page every time he has tested the print job. The bands only print when the text is aligned on the right side. I am able to print the document from my computer (XP) with no problems. Also, every where there is a band the text disappears from the left hand side of the page.
Using Windows 7 I suddenly can't type in fields of secure documents (opened with https).I have tried documents such as for paying bills and making reports, using IE, Firefox, and Chrome.Applies to data entry fields or radio buttons.Data fields accept the click to select the field, but do not respond to data typed on the keyboard.i have searched the web for "can't type in fields of secure documents".I get lots of hits, but none are appropriate and few have solutions anyway.
