I have a copy of Quicken Home Inventory Manager (2006), but I have a newer Windows 7 computer. When I attempt to install the program, it just won't do it -- a pop-up says the program isn't compatible with my computer. [ur]...
My new laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed Home Premium 64bit, and what I know to Recovery (system image with installed drivers),which is placed in a hidden hard drive partition, you fail to restore the system with the drivers (to factory) .
recommendations on a hardware/software inventory tool that comes with an agent.I manage a windows network of about 150 machines and would like to be able to install the agent on each machine and then get an overview of all the machines on the network with list all their installed hardware and software. Also we have laptops that leave the network. I would like them to "phone home" once in a while to check in.The reason I'm looking for an agent vs agent-less is I don't want to have to poke holes in the local firewalls or have to configure remote access per machine. Just looking to deploy the agent. Spiceworks almost does all this but doesn't have a stable agent yet as far as I know.
I recently upgraded a MICRO-STAR INT'L CO.,LTD. MS-1034 0341 from XP/SP3, to Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. The laptop has a Digital Camera integrated into it. While the system was XP, the webcam worked. I could open My Computer, and if the camera was turned on, it showed in the inventory of devices. Now, with the new and better Windows 7 ULTIMATE, , as the camera says it is connected, but it isn't in the "Computer" inventory, and that is where you really turn the thing on. I have downloaded drivers out the ying-yang and get the same result each time.
Just thought I'd pass on this slightly dirty fix for no session manager in IE9 I'm using Win 7 x64?IE9 only offers to restore your session automatically at startup only if IE crashed. Here's a 1 line batch file that kills the IE process so that when you start it again it offers to restore your last session. I put the shortcut to the batch file in my quicklaunch toolbar and just needed to get in the habit of closing IE via the shortcut. Here' the contents of the batch file...

I just tried downloading the windows 7 manager and a pop up that stopped it from downloading said windows 7 manager cannot be installed on systems with .net framework version smaller than 3.0 .
Just wanted to reinstall my Windows 7 this morning due to the fact that my dvd writer did not read of write CDs. After some research I learnt that a re-install will do the trick. how I don't know.My system statrt up, loads the windows 7 files and then comes up with the Windows Boot Manager screen stating that it has problems communicating with a device connected to your computer. Status: 0xc00000e9 Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred.I have tried my 2 SSD drives in Raid 0 and also a single HDD with the same results. My DVD writer is an IDE model, but I can't think that this is the problem since the first time I used this drive and the same original Windows 7 Ultimate Disc there were no problems.I even went as far and got a PS2 keyboard to avoid any USB devices and also downloaded a full untouched version of Windows 7 with the same error! (Maybe my disc got scrtaches after its first use, I don't know)
Before setting out on the new machine to install Quicken 2003 using the XP mode (and following MS's instructions Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7), 2 points that only need answering if there's a negative.
Quicken 2000 won't print even though printer says it's printing; No job in the printer que either. Downloaded another printer driver but that did not do the trick. it shows there's a printer in that que but nothing printed.
"file 0x80070017 is missing or corrupted"Anybody know what's wrong? =(.I just got the OEM copy and a brand new SSD. When I was trying to install windows before it was working but my computer took a tumble during that. The disk appears to have smudges but they don't feel like scratches.I didn't use the product key yet, it doesn't get past "copying windows".
