View 2 RepliesI've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.
When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.
I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.
I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.
I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.
I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mode before recovering back to the pre-driver point.
System:
ASUS P8Z68-V Pro/GEN 3
Intel 2600K
XFX R7950 Black Edition
OCZ 850W
Crucial 128 GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HD
Corsair H100

I have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 to my Apple iMac (latest generation from Apple) on a Boot Camp partition. The solve PC issues window says I need to update my driver and includes a direct download but I prefer to get the update directly from the source. I think that the GeForce/ION Driver Release 190 is the graphics driver I need.
NVIDIA DRIVERS 190.62 WHQL
When I run the driver test on the nvidia website it says I need the Notebook Release 186 but the 9400 is not listed under supported devices. Again, I'm 99% sure that I need the GeForce/ION Driver Release 190 but I don't want to screw anything up.
I have just bought 7 Profession 64-bit and upgrade from my Vista Home Prem install. Everytime i install graphics drivers it fails on re-boot.
As far as i can see the drivers install fine (newest ones on nvidia site 195.55 and 186.whatever) then i restart, it loads the "starting windows" page, goes through that fine, but when it tries to go on it just crashes forcing me to use system restore to remove the nvidia drivers so i can run it again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago, I installed Windows 7 (through MSDNAA).
I have a problem with some devices. The situation can be seen here:
I tried updating driver software through windows and it said it was unable to find drivers
I have no idea what the "Unknown Device" may be. The "Multimedia Video controller" I'm guessing is my Nvidia graphics card? The Mass Storage Device I think is my Magicgate memory card slot, but I'm not sure.
I have an Nvidia 8400M GT graphics card and judging by what I've seen on the resolution window (and device manager), I'm currently running on my standard VGA graphics device, and not my Nvidia.

I'm using a Sony Vaio TP3 computer. It's a "desktop" with laptop components and was initially running on Vista.
So I've been using the windows 7 7000 build ever since it came out and its been running just fine on my setup. A couple days ago i downloaded the new RC 7100 build and when i tried to install it, i kept getting a blue screen.
I don't remember why, but i concluded that the issue was my graphics card so i took out my Radeon 4870x2 and took my dad's card, a GeForce 8500 GT. Putting the GeForce in my pc worked and it installed smoothly with both 32bit and 64bit versions of windows 7 RC
I then tried to put my Radeon back into my pc after installing with my geforce. Once it booted i got no signal to the monitor. After finding a work around my i got a blue screen after about 10 min. then it would not boot windows.
I'm still stuck at the installation with my radeon when i put the cd in. i get a blue screen right after the logo thing starts to move, this is before any setup information comes up.
In short, i cant get widows 7 RC to work with my graphics card.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently had a hard drive fail and after replacing the drive and installing 7 from scratch things were fine until I had the BSOD, saying my graphics driver can not be reset.
Then on reboot and before windows loads, I have repeating non english characters across the boot info screens and missing characters within the text that should be there. When in 7, I then get wavy green or yellow lines across the screen and I can only boot in to safe mode.
I'm thinking a graphics card failure (I've reinstalled the driver) but is there any tool that I can use to check my graphics card??
i want to know what is the best driver for computer gaming?
i have a game left 4 dead 1 , i can play it but its too lag, even i turn all options to low..
I have a dualboot windows 7 home premium with nVidia GTX 460 installed on it. I recently got a SSD drive and this pertains to the problem with that. Everything works fine on the HDD with same graphics card and everything. Everytime I log on my drivers are not there for the GTX 460-I reload them and then everything is fine-I can extend the desktop to second monitor etc.I have enable the administrator account also but I still keep having same problems. I changed windows setting to let me select the best drivers for device also but problem persists. I had same problem on the HDD but that was a couple of years ago and I dont remember how I solved it. I dont think its hardware related or driver realted(same drivers on HDD work fine). Somehow Windows is not retaining the drivers and everytime I reboot its back to basic.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've posted on these forums about this problem before, it is one I've been truggling with for a long time.I run a game, and at some point during the game will freeze momentarily, minimize and I'll get the 'Graphics driver has failed and has recovered' error. Now, apart from the RAM and CPU, which both have been tested, every single component in my case has been replaced and tested thoroughly not just by me, but by the people in a computer store nearby who had been consulting me about the problem. They couldn't find any faults with the hardware and since it was a fresh installation of Windows 7, that didn't seem to be the problem either.Nevertheless, after a week of testing several different options they found nothing.
I've now installed a Windows XP dualboot and was surprised to see that the problem doesn't occur on XP.All hardware is completely Windows 7 approved.Does anyone have a clue as to what is causing this and how I might stop it from happening? It's a gaming rig that I invested quite a bit in, and it really feels like a waste having to stick with Dx9.
Every 5-10 minutes my screen turns black, sort of flashes a bit, and then comes back on in different colours and the windows are all different sizes, but then it changes a bit and goes back to normal. Then I get a balloon message from the task bar saying "Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Driver for Windows Vista® stopped responding and has successfully recovered." (screenshot below) For some reason it says "for Windows Vista® but I am on Windows 7. When it has come back to normal again, Chrome goes all funny and the tabs won't switch. So if I try to switch tabs, the top thing is on the tab that I have switched to, but the main screen below stays on what the previous tab was. Also, sometimes the tab becomes unresponsive and I have to either restart Chrome or refresh the tab.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems updating my Intel Graphics Media Accelerator driver, 8.15.10.2119. It is the version that prevents Win 7 SP1 from showing up in WU. I read a thread about this very issue from 2011, but the link provided to go to Intel to get the latest driver leads to nowhere. I cannot find a place to go to update the driver. I manually downloaded SP1 and installed it and it is working fine. My question is: do I still need to update the driver, and if so, where do I get it from? Neither HP nor Intel is any help here. And would this driver cause IE9 to crash? The computer came with IE8 on it, but I installed IE9 in Nov. 2011. Shortly after, I was getting a message like "Internet Explorer has stopped working". I uninstalled IE9 and went back to IE8, but I had the same problem there as well. IE8 worked fine until I upgraded to IE9. Then I uninstalled IE8 and changed to IE9, where I still have problems. I have contacted MS Support about this, and one option given was to reformat the hard drive, which I really don't want to do. They were concerned about the fact that SP1 was not offered and hinted that the computer would be more vulnerable to problems without it installed. My firewall and anti-virus have turned up nothing. I use Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security.
