Jan 13, 2011I have a Laserjet 5N (I know, pretty old) connected via parallel (LPT1) port to my computer. It worked just fine on my old machine with Windows XP on it, however, I just bought a new computer with Windows 7 on it and I've been having problems making it work ever since.I went to Control Panel > Devices and PriFnters > Add printer, did the "Windows Update" which updated the list of drivers and the HP LaserJet 5N was listed there.

Aug 4, 2009I installed Windows 7 on an office laptop and I cannot print now because I don't have the correct drivers. i didn't see any on the HP website either, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

Dec 7, 2009Is there any driver better than the Windows 7 default driver or the ones currently available from HP? Those from HP seem to be actually for a different printer - the HP Color LaserJet CP2025 Series.
The real issue is that those drivers only support a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi but the HP LaserJet 5000 has a max resolution is 1200 x 1200 dpi.
Any idea how get the max resolution out of the printer?

Jan 9, 2009Well, I've installed Windows 7 Beta on a secondary hard drive I use for such things. Looks nice but disappointed to see that they have chosen to support every single HP printer in existence EXCEPT for the LaserJet 3200 (one of the most common printers out there).
Is this yet another example of M$ ignoring the obvious or is it that HP is pulling the rug from under us by not supporting their products with drivers? If the LaserJet 3200 driver isn't available, is there another one that will make this printer work in Windows 7?
P.S., Does anyone else HATE the spacing between the icons on the task bar? For the life of me, I cannot understand the reasoning behind putting this HUGE space between each icon. It adds no functionality and permits fewer icons for quick launch on the task bar. Another head-scratcher from M$.

But then when i changed my os to w7, the printer doesnt work....
So I looked up drivers for the printer in the HP site....
And they dont have one for w7.....
I already have been on their forums, but they ignored/didnt reply....
So if anyone knows where to get the drivers..
P.S: I tried all the drivers they had on the site for 2600n, All of them didnt work.

Jul 9, 2011I have an HP Laserjet 1320 connected to a Mac. I'm trying to get it working under Windows 7 x64, but HP seems to be playing with the Windows 7 drivers for this printer. Yesterday, there was a link for Windows 7 x64 drivers on this page: HP LaserJet 1320 Printer series*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center But clicking on the link got you a "File not found" error.Today, there's no link at all.In the past, I was able to get this printer working with a generic Postscript driver (Apple Laserwriter 600 PS) under XP 64-bit. However, I've tried a couple of other basic Postscript drivers (Lexmark and HP), but can't seem to get the printer to print anything more complicated than a test page. When printing to the shared printer with a non-specific Postscript driver, the output just vanishes (except the test page, which came out OK with the Lexmark, but not HP driver).basic Postscript driver that will work with CUPS (the Mac printing system?) Or better yet, have a link to a 1320 Postscript driver? I'm pretty sure the PCL driver won't work with CUPS...I'm using the Bonjour printing software from Apple to find and setup the printer.
