View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire AX3400 desktop running Windows 7 64bit. I have been having all sorts of problems over several months. The machine, when left unattended, appears to be always "recovering from serious error" with subsequent memory dumps. The machine would not shut down without me having to switch it off. Subsequently the machine would not start up properly. iTunes would not open without a reboot etc etc etc.I decided to backup all my data and restore to factory settings. This has failed/ is incomplete. It hung for several hours at different stages of the process. I keep getting the message "Setting up PC for first use" and does not move on from there

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy son put my 4G aircard from my Apple into the USB port in his Acer. It wouldn't work, so he just pulled it out without going through the eject function. Now when his Acer is turned on it won't sign on at all. It goes to a black and white screed for Windows Boot Manager and says it is an error cause by unplugging the USB drive while the device was in use. If you push enter, it goes to the Windows Error Recovery black & white screen. No matter what you do, it just goes back & forth between those two screens. I can't even get to a Windows screen to to any recovery program.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i turn the computer on i get the screen : setup is starting service. Install Windows. The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. I have contacted acer they tried to help with the ALT and F12. Nothing I have tried works.. They told me to order the recovery discs for $20.00. I did , and they dont work either... I contacted them back, and now they say to send it back to them and for $199.00 plus shipping, they will repair the computer..I do not have the money for that..I have the the system disc, the 3 recovery disc and the language disc , that I just ordered from Acer for $20.00.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently had a virus/malware attack on my system, removed it, but the system is damaged (Security center & updates cant be started etc) . I want to restore the comp using the acer feature "restore to factory settings". But I wonder, must I have a Win7-installation CD after the restore?? Because the computer came with preinstalled Windows 7 when I bought it. Keep in mind that it's a factory settings restore not a complete format c (i think) I've done a backup on hardrive "D" of my current system in case of anything going wrong. If a Cd is required, could you tell me another way to format the comp without buying the CD? My security center is damaged, so restore to point doesnt work either. If you got any solutions to how to start security center except setting it to "automatic" in services.msc (Since this doesnt work), please post 'em.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a dell Inspiron n7010 and im trying to reformat my computer. I backed up all my personal files into an external hdd. However when I try to restore my laptop to its factory settings, I get stuck. Upon booting up my computer I press f8 to get into the advanced boot menu. From there I select system repair but after selecting that, it always gets stuck at windows is loading files. It doesn't look my computer is loading anything either and it doesn't make sounds as of it were.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor a variety of reasons, I want to do a clean install on my laptop, which is a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7. I don't have any Windows disks (it's 2 years old and I'm fairly sure I wasn't provided any), so I'm trying to do it through advanced boot options. When I hit F8 during startup and select repair, I am shown the screen "Windows is loading files..." and then the system starts as usual, rather than giving me options for a fresh install, which the description (and every set of instructions I've seen) would suggest.
View 13 Replies View RelatedSo im looking to restore my PC to its factory settings so i saw from a video that says all i have to do is go to, Control panel->System and security->Backup And Restore->Recover system settings or your computer->Advanced recovery methods->Reinstall Windows (requires Winodows installation disc) so yeah, will this work? im pretty sure the disc i have that came with my comp is the right disc, on the disc it says"microsoft windows 7 Reinstallation DVD", Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
let me know if this is the right disc and if this is the right way to reset to factory settings that would be super awesome!!!!
