I've been trying to create a Task in Outlook from a Word Document that I have created on this computer. The idea is that a shortcut to the document is created as an Outlook Task. Click on the shortcut, and voila - there is the document.The "Create Microsoft Office Task" icon DOES send the document to Outlook as a Shortcut in a Task, however, when I open the task, Outlook says:"Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments: Shortcut to 'document name'."It's NOT an unsafe attachment; Outlook WILL OPEN this document if I send it as an email attachment. Outlook will open .docx files types.
Play A Video In Jet Audio On One Monitor While Play A Full-screen Game On The Other?
Feb 3, 2012how can I play a video in jet audio (or any other media program) on one monitor while I play a fullscreen game on the other. I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.

Dec 12, 2012I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and Microsoft Home and Office 2010. Everything was working fine yesterday, but when I came back to work today and attempted to open Outlook 2010, I instantly received a message saying: "Outlook failed to launch in safe mode. Do you want to start repair?" If you try to open it again, it opens a second process of OUTLOOK.EXE*32 in the Task Manager. Here is what I've already tried to do while troubleshooting:
- Restarted the computer
- Performed a MS Office Repair, it completed, rebooted (Did this twice)
- Uninstalled MS Office 2010, rebooted, reinstalled it, rebooted, but same problem occurred
- Verified that the other Office programs work (Word, Excel, etc)
- Tried to run "outlook.exe /resetnavpane"
I'm currently stumped at the moment. I cannot even access the profiles through Control Panel > Mail.

Now that MS has moved on to the 2013 version of the software, it still does not work on 2010. What did people do? Here is the problem have a .pst file from Outlook 2007 on an old computer. I want to use that same .pst file on a new computer running Outlook 2010. I want all my new mail to go to the old .pst file and nowhere else. Now here is what I've tried and what seems to happen:When starting O'2010 it needs your email address. I create that but then it creates a new .pst file named myname@mydomain.com.pstAnd it creates it in C:/Users/myname/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook. If I try to move the new .pst file to the folder entitled C:/Users/myname/Documents/Outlook Files, then when I restart Outlook it recreates the deleted .pst file back in the AppData folder

Now when I download and try to open a word document from my professor it does this, Windows is not responding, windows is checking for solutions, and then shut down. I then haft to open it in safe mode enable editing and then I can work with it.I tried changing the trust center options and it saves my changes to the trust center when I open word from my computer, but when I open it from a website it does not save it.

Nov 10, 2012I have had a terrible time trying to trace down "not responding" in various programs. About 90% of the time however, it occurs in Outlook 2010 and sometimes in Word 2010. I took down the information from the event viewer after the last time it happened so badly that I had to restart the program because waiting didn't bring it back. Win 7 Prof, SP1. i7, 930 with 24 gig of 1333 Kingston HyperX ram. Several drives: C SSD Plextor and Office is actually installed on a WD Caviar. Neither drive show errors. Only thing I see is that the Caviar is using Microsoft 2006 driver and I haven't been able to find a newer driver. Happens when SATA is set to AHCI and when it is set to IDE.

Feb 17, 2012I have one copy of Office 2010 Pro OEM from Dell.I activated it on Windows 7, the host OS.I also installed Windows XP Mode/Virtual PC on the same laptop.I need Excel 2010 in Virtual PC. but when it came time to activate, Excel was denied activation.MS saw the Office 2010 activation instance under the host OS.Technically it's the same PC, but I only get to choose one OS to activate it on.This is disappointing.Other than getting another product key, can I activate one copy of Office 2010 on both Win 7 and Windows XP Mode
