How To Forbid An Administrator To Delete Another Admin Account
Jan 15, 2013
I have a laptop that I share with my brother and I want to make him administrator as me. So, we have 2 accounts as administrator and both the same privilages. What I want is to make him not possible to delete mine or to remove me as administrator or to change my password. How can I do it?
for ACER 5740 G WIN 7 home premiumi enabled the administrator in WIN 7 Home Premium with a password and hide this for the log in. All other users are standard users. Now I am unable to login to the administrator log in opiton. How can I unhide the administrator log in. Since I did this I have administrator password.
im here on my laptop as i was doing some permision changes on my desktop. and i was deleting the account that seemt strange. well i guess i deleted my own account. im the owner of the pc by the way the only person that uses that pc. then i did a restart tried to log on onto my account with the respective password and its telling me "Can't logon because the logon method you are using is not allowed on this computer..."
I have enabled the hidden admin account in windows 7 and I picked up a virus...it won't let me do nothing...I have tried installing antivirus but it keeps giving me an error message that says the application I am trying to open is infected and it won't open it....
now I can log into the other account and work fine, however these accounts do no admin priviledges!
so my question is can I delete the current hidden admin acct and recreate a new one? or is there anyway around my problem, basically how I can I restore the account back to normal.
I am currently unable to delete my old Administrator user account on my Win 7 PC. I log onto my new Admin account and go to the Control Panel and then to add or remove user accounts. I select the old account select delete, and then confirm. It does not let me do this. However, oddly there is no error message, it just sends me back to the page I was on previously and the account is still there. I also cannot demote it to a standard user account.
I have only one user account on my laptop (Windows 7) and naturally it is an administrator account. But when trying to install new software, more often than not, I get a message saying I need to be logged in under an administrator account to continue. Not always but far too often. For example, today I was simply trying to run my printer setup which I have done at least twice before and it tells me I need to be logged in as an admin. I have logged out and back in and rebooted repeatedly to no avail.
My account was changed from admin to non admin, and now can't access my account. Unable to install programs, tho I can save files, burn ISO images, etc. Need some help, or ideas to recovery, not remove the password.
I am trying to change the folder properties of a applications folder from read only. I am doing this per instructions from the apps provider to prevent crashes.
When I go to change the permissions it states I need admin privileges. The only account I have on the box is the admin however I did change the name to something besides admin. The account is definitely an admin account.
I put a folder in my admin acct it also appears in the guest acct which is dangerous. I need both acct's but how can I put is only in admin. When I delete it from the guest acct is disappears from the admin acct too.
I have always been running admin and even until now I run as admin. But, I have been doing a little bit of research and realize that using a standard account is a safer practice. I have never even used a standard account. Is using a standard account a better practice? Also, how does doing average task such as installing programs and updating work through the standard user account?
i have accidently changed all my accounts to standard and cant change back to a admin account. i'm required to put in an admin password for permission but there is no where to put password.
I am using Windows 7 Pro 64x and apparently the default user account (Owner) that I use is not working correctly. Unless I have UAC set to Never Notify, I cannot open Control Panel or UAC again. I have created a second user account as Administrator and it works correctly.
I would like to know if there is any way to fix this problem short of a clean install of Windows. If not, is it possible to move all of my settings to the user account that works correctly and delete the one that does not.
I have an Acer laptop which came with one user account, Acer, with the administrator right. When I tried to rename it to Administrator or administrator, I got an messages saying that user name has already existed
My friend and I share my laptop. Recently I found out that he was watching porn on my computer. So I promptly confronted him, and told him to stop. Weeks later, he did it again. So I downloaded Norton's Safety Minder to prevent it. So this sneaky prick goes around and enables the guest account, and lo and behold, porn fest again. What can I do? I don't want to keep him off the admin account, because he plays games on here, but I don't want him watching porn on my laptop either. Is there a way to put parental settings on the guest account? I know you can disable it, tried that, he just re-enables it, then disables it before he gets off. I'm really frustrated about this.
been about week i kept trying to get firefox to download onto my pc. But when i get it to download after that done.i go to run the installer a pop says i need to have admin rights when im on a admin account. im running win 7 64bit . i have a image of the screen that requires me to have admin rights.
I recently logged onto my account about 2 days ago to finish a project. The music file I used for the account was could not be found and when I went to locate it I was told I didn't have administrator rights. I went to Control Panel because I was sure I was an Administrator, but sure enough, I was set as a Standard User. I tried changing it up but it wouldn't change. I tried changing the account name also, and it wouldn't change. I could only change account picture. I can't open UAC, I click it and it blinks but nothing opens. I deleted any recent program installations,I booted in safe mode, however I was still not able to change my account,I tried activating the hidden administrator account but I received an "access denied" message,I tried creating a new account but I received the following message:"The specified account name is not valid, because account names contain the following characters: /[]":;|<>=+,?*Please type a different name."I didn't use any of those characters in the account name.I ran 2 different virus scans, and they came up with nothing,I turned the computer off, unplugged everything, and pressed the power button for 30 seconds, and rebooted, but still nothing! My roommate shares this computer with me, and her account is still an administrator. However she has traveled and I haven't been able to get hold of her yet. We share music files and the file I was trying to use is in her account.why my account was changed and how I can change it back?
I run Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio, and never had issues.recently I had this situation where some software doesn't run properly on my main account (admin) but only in a secondary account I had created the software is installed without problems, but then it fails to run properly as an example I have a small car speed detector which has a software to download journeys. it doesn't run as it should on the main account no matter what I try. similarly i bought a Sony Bloggie and its portable software as well as the main software that came with it don't work properly, but they do on the other account, so I (annoyingly) have to switch users, and run the software there, and then go back to my main account.I suspect some anti-virus or other stuff from my main account is "blocking" things somehow. I also had a number of instances where I get alerts like "windows cannot open this file for security reasons". I have tried to change security settings, firewall settings but nothing worked.there was a general security level that required admin status to lower, yet although I obviously am admin, windows wouldn't allow me to do.
I don't know how it happened. In Control Panel, I am the admin. In netplwiz, I am in Administrators. (I remember it as being HomeUsers, Administrators).
My dad has a laptop which runs Win 7 32 bit Starter and today a problem occurred which neither of us have experienced before. We can't access anything that modifies the OS or Hard Drive. Therefore we can't even change user permissions (We can't run anything with the little blue and yellow shield next to it either). The message we get is: " Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. " There is only one account on the OS and that's the administrator account that my dad has always used.
Just installed an OEM version of Windows 7 Ultimate on a custom-made machine. It gets to the point of logging in. I type in Administrator and press enter, and I get the response, "You're account has been disabled. Please see your network administrator."
what is the difference between a user, who is member in the administrator group and the built in administrator.and is there a possibility to grow up a user to a built in administrator
I just had a new motherboard fitted and now find that my admin account cannot see everything on the PC. Moreover my user+admin account has lost its admin properties. Currently (as advised by the repairer) I am trying to put all my settings onto the admin account in the (defective thought it is) and have been partially successful. Still however I am finding it difficult to get some settings onto the admin account, for example Thunderbird and Skype are not working. Is it possible for me to find the settings and add them to the admin User account under C:Users ?
I had to reset my comp to factory settings. After doing so whn I boot it up it gives 2 options to log on as, administrator and user. when I click on admin it says "your account has been disabled. please see your system administrator".
Im tryin to create an admin account after i deleted all default account from users. Now i cant make any changes to my computer bcuz im logged on as a standard user.
