Can't Find The Port Assignments In Windows 7
Jul 13, 2012I can't find the port assignments in Windows 7. They're supposed to be in Device Manager between "Network adapters" and "Processors." Ports are not listed. How do I find them?

Dec 16, 2009When I assign one of the mouse buttons to "Close" or to a keystroke combination (Ctrl-F4, Alt-F4, Ctrl-W etc.), after using the mouse buttons the Ctrl (or Alt) key behaves erratically as if it were stuck on the keyboard.
This is not a hardware fault of the keyboard, I tried different types and makes. I have Vista64 but I read on various forums people have this on Win7 as well, both 32 and 64. Worst of all it happens both with Microsoft Explorer (MiniMouse in my case) with Intellipoint and Logitech VX Revoution and their Setpoint. (Newest versions were installed). Other people report it with further mice.
Nothing is turned on regarding Accessibility and Sticky keys. As to date I found no evasion to this frustrating issue except not assigning mouse buttons the way I want. Is there some merciful soul out here who will share a solution ? Logitech know of this but their newer versions did not solve this, same goes for MS.

As a result of changing my external USB Hub controller from a CyberPower CP-H720P (USB 2.0 7-Port Hub w/Power Adapter) to a SIIG 06-0960A (USB 3.0 w/3-Ports & USB 2.0 w/3-Ports plus Card Reader w/Power Adapter), all of my original external USB drive letters were changed. The following are my Original and New USB external device drive letters: F changed to O � Port 7 Hub 3 � Patriot Memory (16GB USB 2.0 Memory) G changed to N � Port 2 Hub 4 � Desktop (Seagate USB 2.0) H changed to M � Port 1 Hub 4 � Free Agent Desktop (Seagate USB 2.0) I changed to K � Port 4 Hub 3 � MyBook 1130 (Western Digital USB 3.0) J changed to L � Port 3 Hub 3 � MyBook 1140 (Western Digital USB 3.0) I need to know what steps I must perform to clear (reset) my current USB drive letter assignments so that I can begin anew starting with the first available drive letter, drive letter �F�.

1. What is the cheapest method to get the task done. What disk or download do i need?
2. Can it be done as an upgrade, keeping existing files? or is a clean install the only method?
3. i have already downloaded all the drivers in 64 bit versions. can i install the drivers, or make them useable to the windows upgrade/install during the instal process, or do i need to install the drivers after the windows installation is complete?

Jan 18, 2013I know that I'm going to get: Why on earth would anyone want to change from 7 to XP? The answer has to do with audio. I have an interface/drivers/DAW/plug-ins that very simply ran like a top with my old XP 64 and is somehow creating CPU spikes that is making it impossible to proceed with my project.I have spent a week troubleshooting, looked into all options and I've decided that I've had it. This computer will no longer surf the web or do anything besides audio.......at least until I can afford to upgrade properly. I need the fastest solution, not necessarily the best. Another issue I am having is that I do not have a disk, only an image on my external HD. I have tried three kinds of DVD-R's in two different drives with four different programs and continue to get I/O errors. I suspect it is the media itself (Maxell and memorex ) but I don't drive so painting the town red to buy different 20 dollar packs of DVD's that MIGHT work doesnt sound good.SO, with all of that out of the way. Here's what I have:
1. Windows 7 (64) installed
2. An ISO image of windows XP (64) installation disc on a USB HD
3. A USB flash drive
I would like to have windows XP running and anything beyond that is unimportant.
