Audio Driver For HP Notebook Pavilion Dv2312us
Nov 23, 2009It's not a huge problem, but just found out the WIN 7 audio driver for my HP notebook Pavilion dv2312us will not be available for another 2-3 months. Using the current driver, I get a POP sound when it goes into sleep mode or shuts down. I also don't have a mute function. I hope the POP sound is not damaging to the computer.
I was on the driver page for this computer and the Win 7 audio driver is not listed. So then I went into a chat - he gave me a driver that wasn't compatible at all. Had to go back to my other generic IDT driver which causes problems above.

Apr 13, 2010find a driver for my video controller? I've just upgraded to windows 7 from xp, and HP doesnt seem to make drivers for my old laptop anymore, though windows 7 is running pretty smoothly! I've been able to find all of the missing drivers, like the one for my soundcard, and install them either in vista or xp compatibility mode, but I can't seem to find this last one. I read in another thread that the hardware IDs might be helpful. Well, here are the hardware ids listed for my video controller (I'm still not even sure what the video controller does):

Sep 9, 2012I cannot access my cd rom drive. I look in the drive section under computers and I see the C drive and the D recovery drive but no cd rom drive. I go to device manager and don't see anything relating to a cd rom drive. I have an HP Pavillion Notebook DV 9810 US and the cd rom drive itself is Lightscribe. I have tried to go into the registry through cmd, regedit and control etc but found no upper filter nor lower filter to delete. Instead when I click on the last folder,4d36e965 I see 0000 and properties. In the upper right I see default, class, class desc, enum prop pages, icon path, installer 32, no install class, silent install.

Feb 8, 2013It will only stay booted in Safe Mode. When I start the computer, it boots up, stays booted for a few minutes, then the screen goes black and it reboots. This keeps happening unless it is booted in Safe Mode. Purchased with Vista; I clean installed Windows 7 Home Premium (I know it's legit, bought it for her myself) when Windows 7 first came out.
When I turned it on, it rebooted so I started it in Safe mode and have tried/found the following problems: It had 4 adware programs and one trojan horse; removed those with Malwarebytes. Rescanned with Malwarebytes and MS Security Essentials, came out clean - Device manager showed two problems - bad drivers for co-processor and bad drivers for Graphics card. Installed those drivers and the Device Manager did not show anything wrong. Problem keeps happening.
Opened BIOS and ran both Hard Drive and Memory Diagnostics; no problems found, Did not make any BIOS changes (I have little experience with BIOS) - Ran diagnostics with Windows 7 disk; including Repair, Memory Diagnostics; no problems found - Graphics card is NVIDIA GeFroce 7150M/nforce 630M; reinstalled drivers, didn't work anything - When the screen saver goes on, there is an error message. "The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or one that's compatible with Direct 3D".
This is an old computer, well out of warranty. Do I still possibly have an embedded virus? What removal tool should I get? Is it worth replacing the graphics card - if that's possible on an old laptop? Should I try a clean install of Windows 7?

I went around and checked all the computers and the time was the same - so why the message?However when I went to the router, I found that daylight savings was not turned on and the time the router was keeping was an hour different from everything else. Low and behold when I corrected the time on the router all the connection problems were resolved on the notebooks.
