Drivers Installed With Every Logon
Every time I logon, Windows 7 installs drivers for two PCI standard PCI-to-PCI Bridge devices; I don't know why there are two of these devices listed in Device Manager - if I delete them then both come back. Also, Windows 7 installs a driver for an 'unknown device' - Windows 7 gives no clue as to the nature of this device. Does anyone have any idea why Windows 7 installs to these three with every logon and not just the once?

Dv6000 Webcam Driver
I have a HP Pavilion dv6238ea and it had xp on it and the webcam driver i downloaded from hp.com worked fine. Then i formatted it and installed windows 7 in it. Windows 7 detected the webcam and installed the driver. The webcam shows as ''HP Webcam 1000" and the manufacturer is "Micro Vision" and also the driver is provided by 'Micro Vision'. But it doesn't work. It only shows a black screen. I downloaded the vista driver from hp.com for my laptop(HP Webcam Driver with Firmware Upgrade for Microsoft Windows Vista HP Pavilion dv6238ea Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)) but it is not able to install. It gives an error. There is no available driver for windows 7 for this laptop (or any dv6000 series i think) on hp.com Can anyone help in solving this?

BSOD On Restart Whenever Drivers Are Installed
Whenever I install drivers, on restart I get a BSOD stating something about a stack overrun due to a driver (I assume it is the driver recently installed). The only way to get Windows 7 to boot is via the System Restore after it fails to boot twice. Drivers I've tried to install are the Nvidia GeForce 8 series beta drivers for Windows 7, the official Vista drivers for the Creative Audigy 2 ZS, the official Windows 7 beta drivers for the ZS, and a set of unofficial drivers. All result in the same BSOD after reboot. As mentioned I've tried multiple drivers. I've also tried reinstalling Windows 7 and install drivers on the clean OS, resulting in the same BSOD.

Crash As Soon As Sapphire HD 5750 Drivers Installed
Installed OS (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit) Installed Chipset drivers. Ran Windows Update Installed Graphics Card drivers - newest from website Reboot - CRASH - have to boot in Safe Mode & restore to earlier version as system will no longer start properly. Why? What did I do wrong? Until attempting to install the proper drivers, it would appear the system is using a default VGA adapter, and not seeing as PCI-e? Are there special drivers to install for the PCI-e boards?

Raid Drivers - Installed From A Mem Stick
Just putting together a list for my new October build for the Windows 7 launch and am going to go with a "Raid 1" set up using 2x wd caviar black 1tb drives. I have not gone down the raid route before but understand that raid drivers needed to be loaded by floppy during installation. I was hoping not to have to buy a floppy drive so wanted to know if in Windows 7 USB support was available during install to allow raid drivers to be installed from a mem stick when prompted??

New RTM Install, Drivers Were Installed Straight Away
This weekend - I installed Windows 7 Pro RTM Final onto a basic "office" workstation and was stunned to see that ALL of my drivers were installed straight away as part of the OS install. In the past - XP and Vista always pulled me down a path of having to install at least a half dozen specific driver for all hardware pieces - but with 7 - I was good to go. So what's the thinking? Do I really need the latest Intel chipset software? Is the 185.xx nVidia driver installed by 7 any worse than running the latest bloated pointless installer from the nVidia site? How about DirectX - in the past - I would pull down the latest End User Runtime and install that before my video drivers. Can't even find a Direct X installer for 7 right now... So - what's everyone else doing?

Stuck On Select Drivers To Be Installed Page
After working through tons of other problems with help I got to the "Select drivers to be installed" page then got stuck. At first it tells me that I need the drivers for a DVD/CD drive. Following the advice of some people online I unpluged all unecessary devices including the CD drive. I put all the drivers I could think of including a video card driver, a few drivers for a MSI motherboard, firmware for my DVD drive because the maker doesn't provide any, and a USB wireless adapter on a flash drive because for some reason I don't think my computer is reading the DVD's and CD's I try to use. When I try to install the drivers my computer gives me the message "No device drivers were found" and that I need to check the installation media and make sure it contains the correct driver. Though I was able to install a few drivers none of them had any effect and I am still stuck at the "Select drivers to be installed" page. My computer has a MSI K9A2 Platnium mother board, a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+, a PNY GeForce8500GT DDR2 512Mb PCIe, and the hard drive is a seagate 500GB, a GH22NP20 DVD drive, and a floppy drive and CD drive I disconnected for the installation of Windows 7. Also my computer is running Windows XP professional.

Prevent Display Drivers Automatically Being Installed
I'm having trouble with my display drivers and want to replace them with drivers taken directly from NVIDIA. When I say "trouble" I mean a loss in my GPU's ability to perform while benching, etc etc. I've gone into the control panel and turned off auto updating and use ms update and install recommended driver...but, each time I uninstall the old drivers and try to re-install the new ones W7 beings installing new display drivers on it's own.

Base System Device Drivers Not Installed
In Device Manger under "Other Devices" there is an entry titled "Base System Device." The message is " The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver." Also "pci bus 9, device 3, function 2" appears. Needless to say, the "Update Driver Software" nor the Sony Support Website seem to list any drivers. However, everything seems to work but perhaps I haven't used whatever function this driver runs. I'm running a Sony laptop, Model VGN-FW351J. 2.00 gigahertz Intel Core2 Duo, 64 kilobyte primary memory cache, 2048 kilobyte secondary memory cache, 64-bit ready, Multi-core (2 total), Not hyper-threaded.Any suggestions to update (or install) the driver will be greatly appreciated.

System Freeze During Games / Drivers Installed
Windows stops responding when i install something. Anything. After i installed Windows 7 i started with mobo drivers, the latest from Nvidia for nforce 750 chipset. 64bit. Then i tried to install the display drivers(latest) from nvidia. It took FOUR tries! system would freeze somewhere during the installation. Ok no biggie maybe a bug with latest drivers, i could have used olders i told myself. Now i try to install games. Nope. The system freeze and there's nothing i can do. Maybe it's GTA 4 that's hard on the system whatever so i try to install Civ4 ..same problem so anything i try to install the system freeze. It was fine for small programs like firefox or flash tho. Any idea? I suspect something wrong with mobo drivers but i have no idea how to remove them.

I did a problem sweep with Windows, and it said that I had to install the graphics card driver. I cannot seem to find it, however. What am I supposed to do?

LCD TV Flashes When Drivers Are Installed For NVidia Graphic Card
Whenever I load the Windows 7 VGA drivers for the graphics card, it runs properly but the LCD TV (Connected through VGA cable) flashes almost every 10 seconds. the screen becomes blank for 1-1.5 seconds and the screen reappears. The resolution of the screen is set to 1360x768@ 60Hz. With Windows drivers for NVidia GeForce 6100, when I connect to the CRT monitor, there is no flashing even @ higher resolutions and also Aero works fine. This phenomenon doesnot happen if i install Win-XP drivers for the graphic card on the same operating system. PC: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 GHz NVidia GeForce 6100 Monitor: 32" LCD TV with resolution 1360 x 768 @ 60 Hz OS: Windows 7 Build 7100

Base System Device Drivers Not Installed After Win 7 Pro 64 Bit Clean Installation
I've just clean installed Win 7 Pro 64 bit on a Dell Inspiron 640m laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 processor (original OS was Vista Ultimate). All appears to have gone well but on checking Device Manager there's a Base System Device entry in Other Devices group which is showing an exclamation mark. On opening this entry it shows "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" Clicking Update Driver and searching the Internet fails to locate a driver. I didn't install an Intel chipset after the Win 7 install (this computer is almost 3 years old and Dell haven't provided a chipset for Win 7 so I'm assuming chipset support is included in Win 7 out of the box).Could anyone advise if the above is likely to cause any significant problems?

Driver Could Not Be Installed
As you know there are 5 steps to installing W7 RC. During step 3 (Expanding windows files) it had completed 471 of 2200 files. At step 472, I saw a message that the computer needed to be restarted. The process tried 3 times to complete this procedure and failed to shut down and restart as required. After approx 1 - 2 minutes, I received a message stating "windows installation could not continue because a required driver could not be installed." I tried to install W7 4 times, and it failed all 4 times at step # 472 of 2200
