HP DV4 Laptop Compatibility
WillI be able to install windows 7 32 bit on HP DV4 and DV3 laptops? For instance HP DV4 1411TU or HP DV4 1415TU? The dealer says the vista that comes on these machines can't be changed.

Dell Laptop 64 Bit Compatibility
I downloaded the 64bit version of windows 7 back when it was available and have only just got round to going to install it... then it occurred to me I don't actually know if my system is 64x compatible? How would I find this out? I have a Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 @ 2.00 GHZ2gb Ram and currently my vista is only a 32bit version (came with it). If this is not 64x capable, as I registered and have a key etc, can I still have access to downloading a 32 bit version?

HP 530 Laptop Compatibility Problem
I have installed windows 7 RC on my HP 530 Laptop. It's GPU is: Video Adapter   Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family (256 MB) After installing W7RC it automatically installed all the drivers, including the GPU. When I'm trying to play some games (like PES 2009) they recognize my GPU like it was 64MB and not 256MB and also have resolution problems. I tryied to download and install drivers from Intel and HP but they have compatibility problems and I can't install them. I also tryied to install older driver version but it didn't helped. what can I do?

HP DV7 1020US Entertainment Laptop Hardware Compatibility Issues
Once again, HP is not capable of providing hardware drivers which are being supported by the new and upcoming version of Microsoft Windows. During the Windows 7 X64 installation on my laptop, I received an error saying that "a required CD/DVD driver is not available". After an hour of troubleshooting, I decided to give up and just install the 32 bit version. This version was able to install without any problems. After the installations, I noticed that HP has not made any drivers available for Microsoft 7 yet. Windows Vista drivers for my sound card and TV tuner card do not function in Windows 7. Can anyone help me out with a solution for these issues?

HP Dv4 1428 No Audio
I just purchased an hp laptop from Bestbuy: DV4-1428 found here: Computers: Laptops: HP Pavilion 14.1" Laptop featuring AMD Turion X2 (DV4-1428CA) | Best Buy Canada Web Store It came with Vista, and I couldn't find the drivers for it to downgrade it to XP, so I decided to go with Win 7. I already have Win 7 on my PC and everything works great, but on my laptop, it won't recognize the audio drivers. Windows 7 says that there are no speakers connected. I went to the hp website but the only drivers I could find that might be useful was the BIOS upgrade for Vista x64, so I downloaded it and installed it onto the system. Nothing happened. I've downloaded the 64 bit version of Win 7 on this laptop. Any help/suggestions? I really don't want to go back to Vista, and XP looks like it won't even work because no drivers for xp exist for this laptop.

Upgrade On HP Pavilion DV4 1435dx
I have HP Pavilion DV4 1435dx running Vista(x64), I recieved my Upgrade Kit today and I'm having trouble getting it to start up. I insert the disk into my optical drive as directed by the instructions that came with it. Now when I insert the disk nothing happens, no Auto Play option comes up nothing, when I try to do it manually it says insert CD. So it got me thinking maybe something is wrong with my optical drive, so I insert a DVD movie and all works fine I also try and Audio CD and everything is good as well. Now I tried calling Tech Support and the Upgrade Kit distributor and nothing worked. I'm wondering how can I fix this and has anyone experienced this with their Upgrade Kit? Also if I can't use the Upgrade Kit, will I be able to just download Windows 7 and use the Product Key that came with my Upgrade Kit?

Upgrade On HP Pavilion Dv4 1225dx
I have just purchased an HP Pavilion dv4-1225dx laptop, and this is the one time I like the software that has come pre-installed (HP Mediasmart software) And so, by doing a clean install, ill lose the webcam software (mediasmart component) and the other stuff I have on there (Installing WoW again and downloading updates..not doing it again). I tried the upgrade feature and it hung at 18% for a while and I gave up on it (Second line on the install screen, I forget what it says it is) So I was wondering if it is normal for it to han ga little while doing an upgrade from an OEM version of Vista or just upgradeing in general..?

My laptop is HP DV4. Graphic card is Geforce 512MB. Its OS was Vista Home, and rating of VGA was 4.0 marks. But after installing Win7, it is 1.0 mark??? I thinks Win7 not supported all drivers for VGA? I can't solve it. Could you help me?

IDT CODEC SOUND CONTROLLER FOR HP DV4-1199EE
I have installed windowds 7 CR on V. PC 6.0.192.0 , my machine model is hp dv4-1199ee. And the sound is not working ok. Windows 7 cant identify the sound controller, tried downloading the latest windows update but did not solve the problem. downloaded the latest IDT CODEC driver for windows vista from hp support site for my notebook model but it did not solve the problem. any one has any idea how to solve this issue.

Extended Monitor From Laptop Doesn't Default Laptop When Unlocked
I have my HP 8530 docked on an HP docking station which has an external monitor connected to it. I extended my desktop between the 2 and made the external monitor the primary display. When i un-dock the laptop it does not auto change this and make the laptop screen the default again so all i can see is the extended portion of the laptop. Is this a feature or a glitch?

HP Laptop Upgrade
I have a HP dv5 Series laptop. I wish to upgrade from Vista Basic 32 to Windows 7 32. However,the upgrade lists out certain issues like SCSI/RAID Host controller and keyboard filter(among others),as potential issues. What should I do to resolve these issues,and where do I go to find resources needed for the solution? Also,is it necessary to uninstall services like Catalyst manager,and UT3 and reinstall them,or can I just leave 'em there,install Windows 7 and then update these programs?

My computer is Dell Vostro 1400. When I used Vista system, I used to connect my computer to the TV and it worked. But after I installed Windows 7, the TV cannot detect the PC signal when I connect it to my computer. I have tried to right click the desktop; select screen resolution; click "detect", but it did not work. Win7 Laptop Can See XP By IP, Not By Name
I've read a lot of threads about Windows 7 servers not being able to see XP servers, but didn't see a lot of clear resolution to the issue. Just got a new notebook with Win 7 Pro (32 bit). I cannot get it to see our office file server by name (633D). However, it can see it fine by IP address (192.168.0.103). What should I look at first?

Laptop Overheating
I bought my Lenovo Y510 only about a couple months ago. I was forced to buy it with Windows Vista, which I did not want to do. Now, I've upgraded my laptop from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. I had to backup all my data and reinstall fresh. Ever since I installed Windows 7 my laptop has been running extremely hot. My fan is running harder than it ever has. Also, Windows 7 keeps telling me that I should "consider replacing my battery", which is ridiculous because everything worked fine until I installed Windows 7 Professional. My fan isn't dirty, I've tried adjusting power settings, there's no downloadable packages/drivers on the Lenovo website. I'm running an Intel Core Duo CPU 32-bit. Oh and also Flash video makes my computer run hard and sometimes crashes it. This didn't happen on my Vista Home Premium.

Laptop Going Slow
Lately My laptop has been going slow, I don't Know why and very hard to manage it exemple if I want to open my computer i Need to wait Like 10 secs or more while when on vista it was like 3 secs (same for windows 7 when I installed it) but Now I need alot of time and my CPU keeps Loading I don't know why even when i am not doing anything. Someone suggested that I put something to cool it down but it didn't work so far for me. Is there a program or anything that making my laptop slow and my CPU always making this sound ? Laptop Is Downloading Something Itself From Somewhere
Yeah, My laptop is downloading from somewhere.. and I don't like it.. I can tell because, I have a wireless light that flashes.. and when it flashes really fast, it means it's downloading.. but I really don't have anything that I am downloading.. It's just doing it on it's own and I'm sure I haven't got any program doing it.. It happens at random times & goes on for at least 20 minutes, sometimes longer Is there any program I can download where I can stop my network card from downloading from a certain IP address or place.. like disable it from downloading from anywhere..?

Is Windows 7 The Same For Laptop And PC ?
Just wondering if there are any differences? Another thing I was wondering... Is the windows license limited to 1 computer only?? I've never had a genuine version of windows before (tut tut), but I always assumed if you bought a lisence, you could use it on more than 1 computer (I have a laptop and 2 PC's)... If it is limited, can I buy a second license cheaper?
