HD Audio Device Not Function When Upgrade To 4G RAM?
Nov 4, 2012
I recently upgrade my RAM from 3G to 4G and my HD audio device didn't have sound come out. When i change back to 3G, and the Hd audio device running ok. Pls tell me what is the problem?
I updated my Dell to Windows 7 last night and I realized that I don't have any sound drivers or cards. I have been Googling for about 3 hours now without any luck. Can any one help me?
I have been trouble shooting my sound for quite some time with no results. I've deleted and reinstalled drivers, checked bios, etc. no luck.here are my speccy details
I recently upgraded from Vista to Win 7 and while my system is running great, I am getting an error that I am missing the driver for PCI bus 2, device 9, function 3
where I have to restart my PC every time I plug in something to a USB port, even if I've had the device in use for years. The devices don't get recognised or found by my PC unless I restart. How do I stop this from happening!
how i did it but i deleted 4 pci bus devices and something called acpi compliant system comprocessor device. now my sound is gone, i cant change my background, i cant set my computer back, i just keep getting error messages about base system devices missing files....
If i remove/uninstall 'High Definition Audio Device' Driver in Device Manager will Windows Update find it again?Because im having crackling issues basicly the sound is really choppy and choppy basicly and it makes my ram go to 100%
I turned my computer on to find no audio playing. My main audio device plays bac audio from DAW just fine but if I load a video in WMP i get a code C00D11B1. If I try to play a test tone in the sound settings I get "Failed to play test tone". I have other audio devices connected and also get the same errors which makes me think this is a registry error or some windows communication error. The only thing I think might have caused this is when I was trying to get my ram to run at 1866. This is a new build and the ram should run at this speed as it is in the QVL but that is another issue. I should also mention that I have tried reloading the device drivers, updated the BIOS, and restyored windows from a previous state with no change.

I installed Windows Vista using my computers recovery disk. Everything was working fine until I updated windows. After the last restart (after the updates) I notice that I am getthing this icon on the bottom right:And if I try to open the Volume controls it opens this window:I removed Windows Vista and now Im using Windows 7 (and thats why I came to this forum) in the hopes that it would fix the issue but it didnt. On Device manager I have no Sound devices:
this device is being used by another application. please close any devices that are playing audio to this device and try again. is what it is saying when i try to test , its hdmi ti hdmi from pc to tv i got picture but no audio and cable works fine on frineds pc and tv?
Since installing it, I had a problem with my sound, which was as the title states, no audio output device. I've been through several drivers, none of which worked, and I've also tried sound max, which has in fact worked, however I can't stand the little sound bar when you up or down the volume, and it's fairly unresponsive when I use the buttons on my laptop. So in all fairness, I just want the actual driver designed to work with this laptop.I do have a version of Windows 7 Home Premium, not too sure if it'd make much difference, however I'd rather not go through another OS install as I've got most of my stuff already set up on this now!I am good with computers so don't be afraid to get technical, but I just need another angle on this because it's most likely just something I'm overlooking.
In the Sound options window, you would see your several devices under Playback and Recording Devices. The thing is I have audio devices that have a number next to them, eg. "2- Creative Sound Blaster". Windows always does this, but I would like change these device names, and I don't know how.
For a while now(speaking in month terms), my sound would be working just fine. But sometimes when I put it into hibernate(for the night) and turn it back on, my speaker icon would have a red X over it. The only way this goes away is if I leave the computer off for a long time or, spam restarts(lol). What can be the problem here? My guess is that it's getting old or something.
Also, when I try to find it in the device manager, it doesn't show up. It can't even detect it either.
Also, I reinstalled the drivers yesterday, and it worked again....for another few hours. So when I retried doing that, windows update didn't detect the sound card.
I have an acer aspire 5610z and i know it is not compatable with windows 7 according to acer but everything works apart from the audio!when i go onto device manager there is no audio tab but when i go to system> there is a "high definition audio controller" which i have been trying to install the audio drivers to because the usual audio device is not there in device manager.I have done a fresh install and updated the majority of the drivers but i cannot find the audio one anywhere ive tried downloading the vista one and running it in compatibility mode and it is a realtek one that is reccomended.
I have a HTPC in my living room which since updating on the weekend now has no sound I have found similar issues and posts on various forums from searching all afternoon Sunday but none with a solution (that works for me) other than a full Windows 7 reinstall. I have a PC running onboard realtek (ASRock ConRoe 745 DVI), which was working perfectly until Service [pack one update and two other updates this Sunday. I unfortunately discovered for some reason the System Restore on this machine was set to off so that is not an option The audio symbol bottom right says there is no audio device installed, however if you look in the device manager there is the correct Realtek device installed with no exclamation mark and it is reporting as working correctly. If you right click on the red cross and click playback devices it takes you to the realtek device properties and it is set as default. (In fact if you unplug the speaker jack the PC advises you of this even though it says no audio device installed). If you click on the red cross it launches the fault detection wizard and returns "Audio Device is Disabled - Not Fixed"I have tried uninstalling the device - scanning for changes - reinstall Repeated the above but deleted the device drivers Tried a SFC scan and a Chkdsk Scan (No errors) Tried with the Microsoft default high definition audio drivers and the latest (and not latest) realtek drivers Tried disabling in the BIOS uninstalling and reinstalling after re-enabling Tried uninstalling the updates and repeating the above Tried uninstalling the service pack and repeating the above Finally unenabled the onboard card and installed a PCI soundblaster Audigy - Same problem?
I was having problems with an audio device yesterday. In my attempts to get it working, I tried to disable it and then I was going to reenable it. However after disabling it, it completely disappeared from my list of audio devices. So I can no longer use it. How do I add it back?
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 on HP-DM1-4050us laptop, disabled a couple of unneeded services, now headphones not working, no idea which service caused this but I didn't touch either of the two required audio services (Windows Audio, Windows Audio Endpoint Builder). Audio now plays fine through speakers, but plug headphones in and it's mute. Headphones work fine with other audio devices like my phone, though. Triple checked I'm using the right jack and plugging in completely. I ran the Audio troubleshooting wizard, and it appears the problem is that there are two devices, "Speakers and Headphones" and "Communications Headphones", and the former is the default audio device, the latter is the default communications device, when the latter needs to be both. However, right clicking the latter device and hitting "Make Default Audio Device" has no effect, the former option remains the default audio device. Anyone know what the problem is here, why the default audio device can't be changed, or what windows service could have anything to do with this (besides the two primary audio services)?
I have an Asus P6T motherboard with Realtek ALC1200 on board audio and Windows 7 64 bit OS, DirectX 10, Audio Driver version 6.0.1.5859. The sound works normally for all audio functions. I installed Nero and went to use the Wave Editor application to record a song from the web and got the message "Unable to open recording device". Going to Options > Device Settings > for an Input Device there only shows "MMEwave mapper)". There is no other input device listed. In Device Manager the "Realtek High Definition Audio" device shows as the only device. Going to "Manage Audio Devices" and the "Recording Tab" there shows only "Microphone" and "Line In". There is no "Realtek Digital Input" device listed (as I've seen in web screenshots from others). how to get an input device listed to use with Nero recording?
i have a prob whenever i restart or shutdown my computer, my external audio interface gets disabled on startup. and i always gotta turn it on under device manager which is pretty tiring. how do i fix this? i have already disabled the onboard soundcard. and i can't uninstall it cause windows automatically install the drivers for it. that's why disabling it is the only option.

I'm pretty sure you guys have seen this before; sound icon with a little x over it. I'm posting 2 pictures up to, maybe, give you guys an idea of what the issue can be.Additional information: the laptop at hand tries to install new drivers but fails everytime. No idea why. It tries to install a bluetooth driver.
I have just done a clean install from xp to windows 7 64 bit, everything is working fine except i have no audio, in the right hand of the task bar i am getting no audio output device is detected.
