On FF, I used to be able to type in a partial url and FF would get the rest and go there. Now, Bing interrupts, forcing me to type the entire url. I've removed Bing from the search engine list but that didn't help.
How do I get rid of Bing?
BTW, since the last MS update, it also infiltrated FF and made MSM my home page. This is making me think about going back to Linux.
What is Bing Desktop and why would I want it? Available in latest update from windows update

They manage to go through my virus checker and all other forms of protection without any sort of problem.I know it all seems a bit paranoid but I cannot see why Bing and Zune cookies (3 month ones) are deposited onto my system as I don't even use their services!Deleting them is easy, though they do tend to re-appear regularly. View 5 Replies View RelatedIn the last couple of weeks, sometimes when I power on, I get nothing but a black screen. I have to do a hard turnoff, then press escape and do a restore. I checked update history, and everytime it shows - Bing Bar 7.0 (KB2528989) had been installed. Since I did a restore, the bing bar doesn't show where I can uninstall, so I had to disable automatic updates so I can use the computer! I don't want Bing - it is NOT critical, and need to know how to stop it without having to disable updates. If I let it install, I can't get past the black screen and have to restore, and then can't uninstall it, and it installs again! I have an HP Mini 311-1037-NR, with Windows Home Premium.
