Is there any software that renames photos? The names of the files are currently IMG_8484 and IMG_2273 that could rename the files to 1, 2 , 3 etc .. ? To save me going through 1 by 1 renaming them manually.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a pre-owned laptop.The previous owner, Sara, has cleaned out her files etc, but her name remains as a locked folder in user profiles.* I have created a 'Steve' user name as my default admin user. It does not appear in the user folders, where the Sara, Default user folders are* The Sara user name does not appear in the control panel under users, but all items I've copied from my external drive onto the desktop ready for installations etc, are in the Sara 'Desktop' folder within the main 'users' folder - if I deleted the Sara user, it will delete all the stuff I've copied across onto my desktop (memory is gone now, but maybe I copied across my stuff onto the desktop before I created my Steve admin user).* When I paste my favourites folders into the Sara folder, it does not show up when I launch Google Chrome* I am definitely logged in as Steve, as I can see it on the sart menu* I have googled this, and there's info re copying the data from one user to a newly created non-admin user, but options to copy from Sara user are greyed out.

Maybe I have had them unplugged for some reason I cannot remember, but it causes confusion with some files that use shortcuts. I would like to know if it is possible to give the drives permanent drive letters also change there names?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a new computer last week & it's pre-installed with Windows 7. When I first put in my Mini TV DVB-T USB stick, Windows 7 found drivers for it and WMC recognised it and gave me instant TV to watch. However, just this last 2 days it all went sour. I still have the channels listed but on each one I get sound and just a black screen. No idea what changed, perhaps a Windows update as you get heaps of these when running a new system. Anyway I have tried running the USB drivers again and re scanning my channels but the result is still the same. It's so annoying knowing it has worked but now it won"t. Here's my system stats.

In XP, I could choose which pictures to import, and give them names, and XP would number them for me, for instance import into C:Pictures2009, and the pictures would be named 2009 001.jpg and so on.
Now I dont understand how to do it, and if I have imported some pictures, I'm not allowed to do it again. WHAT???
Why should Windows 7 decide if I can import my pictures again, what if I delete a picture by mistake?
Is there a way to make it work like in "the good old days"?
