I was installing GFW Live, and I tried to put in two codes for DOWII that I had used back in XP. One was from ordering it from a certain shop, the other was from registering it. Both I need to put into Live, but when I try to, it says this code have already been used. Well, yeah they have, but what should I do to remove them from the XP Live and into Win7 Live?
I just recently purchase Bulletstorm for Games for Windows Live. When I tried to run it, "Games for Windows Live states that LIVE cannot connect to LIVE service. Please make sure your computer is connected to the internet."Of course I googled this and read up on many forums that it is a firewall issues and was link to a Windows Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool site - which everything passes, but not Test 5 - UPnP Support Test Not supported. I tried to locate info on how to update the fireware on this router but have not gain any luck. Below is the results for the reason of failure for my UPnP.
Result: The operating system is Windows Vista The firewall is disabled UPnP is enabled by the firewall UPnP services are running UPnP Discovery is enabled
I got this pc a few months ago. I have been able to play blizzard games (WoW and Diablo) fine but whenever I try to play a game I have downloaded from steam (total war shogun 2 and Borderlands 2) I get a BSOD code 101
I've been trying to open my Games for windows live but it wont let me open. Instead it gives me an error message:"Connection errorCan't start the program. There may be problem with your Internet Connection or the LIVE service. Open internet Explorer and try to open a Web page. If you can't, contract your internet service provider (ISP).If you can browse the internet you I don't why it says that even though I have internet connection. I tried uninstalling the games for windows live and install it again, but it gives me the same result.

I recently purchased a new Lenovo. I use Windows live photo gallery to import my photos from my iphone. Worked just fine until I recently upgraded to the new iphone 4S. Now when I import the photos, I cannot do anything with the photos. Can't save, rotate, edit. I had no idea except to reinstall the Windows operating system. I brought the computer home to see if it was the phone...no. I emailed one of the pics from Windows Live to another device..there's nothing wrong with the pics on another device.

I have not been able to get any email on my [url]..addresses. My verizon mail works and some of my hotmail accounts work. Also, I can't seem to get onto most microsoft sites.
The autostart function is not working properly. When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.
Just read on Lifehacker MS internal blog report that Windows Live will be put to pasture. Anyone know if it's just the brand or the brand and ALL associated parts including great ones such as Live Mesh?
ok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.
i need the driver for windows 7....error code 28.My laptop is a philips x58......please help....the message i get is Mass Storage Controller Driver not installed
When I click on games in my start menu only the games on my c drive show. I ran out of space on the c drive practically the day I bought it (SSD), so now I install games to my D drive. I tried dragging the .exe start file over to the games window and it did copy the icon over but I get a message that the game has stopped working when I click it, followed by automatic error reporting to Microsoft after.
I have imported my Outlook Express files into Live Mail (from an XP machine to a laptop running windows 7) using the import function in Live Mail. When I look in the Storage Folders there are no files to view. In the Quick Views I am able to read and see unread emails from Outlook Express but not emails that I have read on my XP machine. To do the import I copied the files from the XP machine to a USB stick and then on the laptop browsed to find the files on the stick. The folder containing the OE files in not read only.
Windows 7 won't allow me to retrieve my saved games from my " documents/my games/oblivion" Says it cant find the codec. What codec is that? Did search on codec and it appears I don't have any.
In the last few months I have been getting error messages in my Yahoo mail account. It will not go to next email and returns an 'Error Code 5' or recently an 'Error Code 15'. It says "Sorry for the inconvenience. You have stumbled upon an unexpected, temporary problem." This happens every other email. What are these codes and why is this happening?
I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on a four year old Compaq Presario C762NR laptop and I'm having some trouble reformatting.
This laptop originally came with Vista, and I updated to Windows 7 about a year ago. It's gotten a bit slower so I decided to reformat it but lost my CD so I decided to borrow my friends. However, once I insert it and restart my computer and have it boot from the disk, it shows an error: "Cannot boot from CD - Code 5"
I tried googling around and apparently this is a problem with older computers. Does anyone know a work around so that I can reformat it? The CD works normally if I open it while on my current OS and shows the option to upgrade/custom install, but since I want to reformat I need to somehow get it to boot via the disk. [URL] However, I don't have my vista disk so I decided to try the vLite solution the author talked about. However, I'm a little confused on how I would make a new iso using the boot.bin instead of extracting it from the cd like how he shows.
I'm sorry if this is a duplicate post, but honestly, I did Search for "Code 5" and found nothing.I have a HD on an eight year old desktop PC that had an early beta version of Win-7 on it.That old version has already expired.I wanted to boot up with my Windows 7 Ultimate DVD and just do an overlay install.Well, every time I tried to boot the PC from the DVD drive, I got the dreded "Cannot Boot From CD, Code 5" error message. Of course I Googled the problem and found only one fix that I was able to execute. The fix involves running the Setup on the Win-7 DVD from within an earlier version of Windows. The suggested version was Viata, but since I already had an early version of Win-7 on there, I tried that. So far so good.
The Setup program informed me that it would put the old OS in a folder called Windows.OLD.I guess that's OK, because I can always delete that later. Eh?This OLD computer may not run Windows 7 Ultimate very well at all, but at least I found a "Work Around" for that nasty Code 5 error message.+ Win-7 did get the sound working and set up my wireless N card with no problem. But it doesn't seem to know exactly what to do with my 8 (or maybe 9) year old video card.I can live with 800x600 resolution, for now. It does have one higher res., but the on-screen text is almost unreadable. But for a testing machine, this one is working pretty well
My Friend just bought his first computer, and he cant install Windows 7. So right now he has no operation system. We have tested installing it with a regular DVD, that worked on my computer, but not on his. It just says: Cannot boot from CD-ROM. And we have also tried to use USB. When we used the USB the computer said something like: please restart and select proper boot device. Even when I'v fixed the boot's. So right now i have no idea what to do. And he has a: MSI P67A-C43 REV B3 as mother-card, Intel Core i5 2500 3,3GHz as processor , Corsair CX 600W V2 80+ as his Power Supply, Optiarc AD-7260S DVDRW Svart SATA, OEM, as the DVD reader. He also has 4 GB in RAM, don't remember which. And 1 TB in hard drive.
I have win 7 Ultimate, and every time I reboot win, lot of devices became unusable with "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)". I have to do troubleshoot of my notebook (in "Devices and Printers") and then almost all device with error 24 is uninstalled/installed and after that it is working fine. There are some devices
(e.g. Hamachi Network Interface, VMware Virtual Eth Adapter) which are not healed with notebook troubleshoot. Those devices can't be found in "Network Connections", but they are working fine.
Does anybody have a clue? (this is really irritating to reinstall all devices after every reboot)
I just tried to install the drivers for my Sierra Wireless AirCard 597E. Not only did it not work, no all of my USB drivers are toast.
Looking at Device Manager I've got the following errors: Intel ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller - xxx (where xxx is 2934 to 2939 and then 293A, 293C)
Looking at the driver details, it's throwing the following error:
Code 39: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be missing or corrupt (Code 39)".
This leads me to believe that the AirCard installer overwrote my drivers.
Looking at driver details I need to replace the following files:c:windowssystem32driversusbhub.sys c:windowssystem32driversusbport.sys c:windowssystem32driversusbuhci.sys However looking at the physical files these dont appear to have changed from the rest of the install.
