I am trying to figure out how out how to get sound on my laptop. The sound thing on the taskbar says No audio output device installed. I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop running Windows 7. Anyone know of a solution to this problem?
View 4 RepliesI know from searches on here that this laptop is pretty much obsolete when it comes to finding drivers for some aspects of Win 7, but I've also found some who seem to have got it running well on it, so hoping this isn't maybe a driver problem but something else that maybe can be easily fixed.
Basically Windows 7 installed without any problems but is running in a box centred in the middle of the screen - I tried to improve it by changing up the screen res, but while that did bump it up a bit it's still well shy of the screen edges i.e. 1 inch of black all around it. Is this thus another driver issue do you reckon or does anyone know of any other way to increase the res, as I can't find anyone else with this particular problem in searches here or elsewhere (unless I'm not searching with the right terms).
Already have it installed on my desktop so the laptop was really just for backup of sorts and not the end of the world if it won't work properly, but be nice to know for sure.
