I noticed that there were 2 program files folders. After installing a few programs, I noticed they were all going to X86 folder, so I thought this was an install error on the shipping companies part, and deleted the unnumbered program files folder. Is there a way to fix my messup ? will it affect performance ?
The last update:October 15, 2011Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242)After this update, a program was uninstalled (gone with no trace). The program had a screensaver option and I noticed it when the screensaver came up blank. Its shortcut was no longer on the desktop. Two files I had created October 12th, and was working on were deleted.I don't know if any other files were deleted.

Kaspersky not have option BackUp my deleted virus. I try Restore point and no luck. So what I use Recovery programs. I try 3. But only from one I get files back. So my question is, can I recover my files with program or with other option? Or This is it and I not have any option recover? Here is one photo how look recovered files. And two files I give in here.
I downloaded Adobe Photoshop (Portable) and installed it. Then I wanted to change the location where it was saved. I tried to move it but it couldnt be moved so I copied and pasted it into a new location. I know I should uninstall but since I just wanted 1 copy, I deleted one. After that, most of the other Adobe programs were affected. When I opened some, they would say that some files are missing or my license has expired. Some started asking for serial number or to register. When I opened Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 it said Photoshop Elements Help was missing and there were missing icons on the right side. I uninstalled and reinstalled the programs. I downloaded some but they cant be installed. It always says some files are missing.
I tried making a shortcut on my desktop for the "Run" program by doing this:Went to All Programs under Start menuFound Run in AccessoriesClicked and dragged onto desktop, making a shortcut. Now, it no longer appears under Accessories in my Start menu! I search for it, and it only finds the desktop shortcut, not the program. I put the shortcut in the recycling bin, and now the start menu pulls nothing related to "Run" if I search.
Whilst removing a virus I have somehow managed to delete office 2003 with my outlook with all of my work emails on !!!I have tried a system restore but it wont let me do it and comes up with %systemroot%egistration then ComPlusStagingI could just reinstall office but I dont have all of my emails backed up on a pst file
My computer suddendly stopped being able to remember my MyMSN password, and I must re-submit my login information every time I log into the MSN site (which I use as my homepage).
is there a downside to responding "yes" when signing into a website when asked "do you want this site to remember your password"? These are sites I go to often and it would be nice to not have to look up a password each time but if it isn't secure then looking it up is fine.
I cannot remember a password I had set on Windows 7. The user is set to have administrative privileges. How can I reset the password without losing any data. When testing on another machine, i went into local users and groups, right click and it gives me the option to reset password, but a message comes up to say that i might lose information if I reset the password this way:(
How do I go about restoring my password with not losing any indormation and setting?
i did a system restore, cannot remember why - probably to remove some software that i didn't like, and from this point i get plenty of times the message ordinal 379 could not be
I have win 7 ultimate 64bit and a while ago i tampered with file encryption and was dumb enough not to back up my encryption key. However, i remember my password that i used to encrypt those files. I formatted C: and re-installed Win7, just to notice i can't access some of my important files on another drive. So, i thought several possibilities of recovery, and i appreciate if you guys could express if any of the options below are viable.
1) Since i didn't back up my encryption key, where is the original one located? (if i use some recovery program to restore it)
2) Can i use recovery programs to restore pre-format a) user account, or b) encryption key, or c) windows (which actually then works)?
3) I remember the password i used to encrypt the files, so can i just make a new encryption key and kind of import it to my present windows to decrypt those files?
4) Does "Advanced EFS Data Recovery" or some other encryption key recovery tool work for my problem?
I am scanning docs to my inbox. I then open, rename and save to a specific folder. My old computer used to remember the path I chose after the 1st time. Now I have to select the directory, then go through several folders & subfolders to get to the correct folder every time . This is very time consuming. Can I set it so that the path is remembered and takes me directly to the folder?
So I got my NAS set up with SAMBA sharing with my password so no one else in the local area should be able to access it. The problem is that I do not have a password on my computer and windows 7 is constantly trying to login to the network share with the username and no password on each boot. I have to manually enter my username and password each time I boot and the "remember the password" checkbox doesn't work. One solution is to have a VBScript remove the network share and readd it using the username and password on each boot, but I wonder if there is a more elegant way of doing it than that?
Once in a while I go to web pages that have password sections for which IE won't ask if I want to save the information. I have checked to make sure that it is set to ask for passwords. It doesn't seem to recognize that I am adding passwords into a field.I consistently have this problem with my bank and on the login for my job. Is this some problem with the way the web page is written
I don't want to pin anything. Without pinning, can windows remember where I dragged an application on my task bar through a setting or anything? I like to have my frequently used programs available near the start button. I'm always dragging them over there after I open them. But I don't like losing the task bar real estate to pinned icons.
On Windows 7 Ultimate, when I either power up an external drive, or plug in my phone... windows autoplay pops up every time. I don't mind autoplay, it's not that I want it disabled. I just want it to remember my choice. I always choose 'open explorer to view files' but the choice is forgotten next time, and there's no checkbox to remember it. Found this tool for XP, might it work on 7?

i have recently purchased a toshiba 500 GB external HDD. This drive doesn't seem to remember the drive latter assigned to it. I have to manually assign the drive latter everytime i plug in the drive in disk management. Its not a big issue but a bit irritating what should i do?
I have an ad-hoc wireless connection set up on my Verizon XV6800 phone. I am able to connect to it and use the internet with no problem; however, Windows 7 will not remember the connection. Every time I restart the computer I have to click the network SSID on the list and choose "Connect" and the it prompts me for the network key. (It remembers the connection settings for a regular wireless network properly.)
i inherited a laptop with window seven home edition and i cant access it because it has a password. The person who sent it to me unfortunately i cant reach him and i need to use it.Please help how i can access it.
While looking at my Windows files, I cant remember were in windows exactly but I found a AMD file but I am running a Nvidea GPU. Is there any reason for this to be here? I have been having some stability issues occasionally so I wonder if this is it? Some AMD drivers have arrived in my system.
