There is folder named Shredder on desktop, I can't delete it and i can't open it. I was trying with BT4 live cd and I didn't even saw it on my desktop through it, also tried bunch of different programs but still nothing. How could I erase it? I tried from safe mode, and I couldn't delete it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedFrom somewhere, somehow, a folder named "24cd9e4542d29590bce925ec30" has been created in my W7x86pro root dir. Trying to look inside, I had to "permanently get access". But then inside it, there are a whole lot of folders named things like 1025, 1028, 1029, etc, ending with 3076, and 3082. What's in those folders, I have no idea, since every time I try to open one, I first get the "You don't currently have permission to access this folder" dialog, and then when I click Continue, I get "You have been denied permission to access this folder".
Also inside the "24cd9e4542d29590bce925ec30" folder, there are files, like "Setup.exe" and "NDP40-KB2473228.msp" and "SetupEngine.dll" and some *.bmp and some other files. I guess that NDP40-KB2473228.msp gives away that this folder has something to do with some .NET framework update, but AFAIK, there's no .NET-anything installed on this computer. I want to remove the "24cd9e4542d29590bce925ec30" folder, but there seems to be no way I can get permission to do that. trying to get ownership or set access rights, all I get is "Access denied" or similar.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been happily using Windows 7 Pro for a while now, but recently whenever I click on folders such as My Computer, My Documents, My Pictures or Recycle Bin etc, they flash open for a split second and then appear open on the bar at the bottom where open programs are. If I click the icon of the now 'open' folder, it flashes for a split second again (just like it did earlier) and then the process repeats itself!

* PDF - Acrobat Reader opens and then I get a pop-up "Error: Access denied."
To open any PDF I have to drag it from the network folder onto my desktop and open it from there. I can open PDFs from any OTHER network folder; it's just one specific path and subdirectories thereof where they won't open. Doesn't matter which office computer I use, I get the same error anywhere. I have R/RX/W/M (everything but full control) on the network folder. Same permissions as everyone else in my office.
I have:
* Reinstalled Acrobat reader (no luck).
* Disabled offline files (no luck because I didn't even know what that feature was for and never used it.)
* Double-checked permissions on the directory.
I just got a new Samsung RC420 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium edition OS. When I was installing a software last night, a message pops up and tells me I cannot continue installation until I close a certain program (in this case it was Adobe Updater, which was not opened at all).Today, I am trying to open "my briefcase" from a USB thumb, but a message pops up telling me I cannot open "my briefcase" as it appears a file in it is already open. I built the PC from scratch (honestly, I'm still amazed every single time it boots up successfully) and went for Solid State Memory, as it's a gaming PC. I don't know if it's that, or some other issue, but the erase all unused disk space option in Eraser won't function. I can target and erase individual files, but I want to use the function that shreds the whole of the unused disk (although it's obviously not a disk). Titanomachy ps. the paperclip icon for attaching files is disabled, for some reason, which is why no dxdiag.

When I try to delete them, an error appears stating that the folder contains names that are too long for the recycle bin. The next screen states that the source file name(s) are too long than is supported by the file system.
