You see, something is messed up in the WMP file, it's not saving my playlists, so every time i want to hear something I need to go to the Music folder, copy from there the songs to the playlist that won't save after I exit the program, I don't know what messed up there, tried to uninstall it but the uninstall fail every time if it's with a program or from the windows uninstall program, installing WMP11 failed too and deleting them with SHIFT + Delete failed too.
Is anyone else having problems with WMP12 acting weird when playing .MOV files?
Just try one of these here: NASA - NASA High Definition Video
When skipping ahead in the video WMP encounters an error for me.
Also why is there no association of .MOV with WMP on the web? I don't want to have to download QuickTime to watch apple trailers when WMP supposed plays .MOV files (albeit not very good it seems)
As I go thru my library, I occasionally notice that I will have doubles of a lot of my files and go through each one and delete the extras. For some reason now there are way to many folder this has happened to for editing each and every one. why does this do this and how can I fix now that there are way too many to do individually?
i have power dvd which plays back the dvds fine, so i know they work. but only in wmp12 and windows media centre they do not play back. they both have the exact same problem, it detects the dvd. looks as though it's about to play it but nothing. screen remains black, no sound, doesn't display how long the movie goes for so i cant press play. and no error message! very confusin.
Looking for solution for printing out my playlist. Can't find anything for WMP12, only for earlyier vers. Anybody who either knows a program that can do the trick or a program that can input the info to an Excel doc. I dont want the coding included, only the song, singer, album, so on, and so on.
Ok so this sort of confuses me here. After a fresh install of windows 7 I am able to play mp3s for a while.. When in a explorer window of a music folder i chose the built in button to play all. After I hit this button only one song came up on my playlist. After trying to choose a different song i am unable to play any mp3s It says that the player might not support this filetype or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. These are standard MP3's that were ripped in WMP11 on my vista machine.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall wmp but this has not resolved the issue. I have also dugg in my google resources and read something about a registry error. this instructed me to typw in a command line run as an administrator "regsvr32 wmp.dll"
I have run out of options and I do not want to do a full reinstall as that is the step that i seem to notice everyone else doing.
Ive had this working perfectly until two nights ago.Under Windows 7 HP 64 bit im trying to play back my HD .mov files and while WMP12 will play them without reporting any errors, the screen is a mess. Lots of colour bars, squares etc. Even the control bar is covered in this visual mess. The files themselves are fine and will play perfectly in VLC, MPC and in fact any other media player i have installed.
Windows 7 professional, Windows Media Player 12. When an album of mp3 tracks, maybe downloaded from amazon, or ripped from a Cd, is saved to the 'My music' folder, WMP12 automatically includes it in the library and it shows in the library pane with cover art and everything looks and plays correctly. Trouble is, the next time I run WMP after it's been closed for shutdown or whatever, the album is gone from the library, or at least it doesn't show anywhere. It won't reappear if I force a library update even though the folder is scanned. 'My music' is the only folder I have designated for WMP to check into the library, and that's where all the mp3s are, including the ones it won't show. The only albums it shows are those I imported when Windows 7 was run for the first time on my machine. Since then it does the 'now you see it now you don't trick' every time I rip or download a track.
I've tried googling it and it comes up with a wealth of almost-the-same questions, but none exactly answer mine. it's a basic "is it possible" one.I have Win 7 Home Prem 64 bit and use WMP12 for organising my MP3s. My car has a USB socket on it which allows it to read Mp3s from a flash drive, and also M3U playlists which reference the files using relative filepaths. All good.
The flash drive is a 32GB model, and i have about 18GB of music i want to put on it - which works fine, the auto-sync feature copies all my music to the drive (took a long time the first time i must admit)but I also have some playlists which I would like to copy to the drive. Is there a way (like in itunes) where you can make the drive contain maybe a separate folder in the root called playlists or, even just a bunch of M3U files in the root, which mirror those in my library?
I'm hoping it's not impossible and can be done in WMP12 because it can in other media players - but I can't find any settings for it, can't drag-and-drop a playlist onto the drive and the built in help file seems to be one page telling me the difference between auto and manual sync.
basically as it say's in the title WMP12 now opens maximized every time I play a MP3 file. It used to always just play the song and be minimized. Its really annoying every time you click for a MP3 to play it goes back to this maximized window.
For some reason my WMP12 has stopped autofinding album information when i put the cd in and I have to right click on the cd and 'Find Album Info' manually for each cd... It used to do this automatically, and even after searching the settings and options panels I can't get it to work again.
How can I stop WMP12 from opening the last file that was played when I load up a new instance of WMP12? Say I watch a video, close WMp, I click the WMP icon to load the player up, it wants to continue playing the video where I left off. I disabled it before a long time ago, but just reformatted and its doing it again and I cant remember how I did it!
I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate x86 on my Dad's HP Compaq Presario. PC has a 2.2 Gig AMD processor (processor is a 64bit but had glitches when I tried the Windows 7 64bit OS) w/2GB DDR2 Mem. All drivers are the originals from when the PC had Win XP Home on it, except for what ever Windows 7 swapped out on install. WMP12 will only play the supplied demo video and that appears as a duo image in a split screen with playback in black and white. Plays ALL audio fine, even CD's. Will Not play any Video DVD's. Installed Power DVD 11 and same problem. Windows 7 say's something about not enough memory installed and close running programs to free up memory. All programs are closed except WMP12. Have increased page file size to 1024low/8192high and every thing seems to work fine except WMP12 & PowerDVD video
I'm running Win 7 x64 with 32bit WMP12. I have FLAC showing with metadata and can play files locally. I have a Naim NDX Media Streamer and can not get FLAC to play through it via WMP - other files will. I understand that this may be connected to x64 not being compatible, so I have the x32 version running via a short cut to my desktop.WMP shows my streamer but when I try to play a file it just constantly looks for the streamer and never finds it. Any ideas where I might be going wrong?
PS: It works perfectly well with JRiver / My River or n Stream via my ipad. That with FLAC or .wav etc. So it appears to be related directly to WMP.
I uninstalled WMP in windows 7 because it was not working correctly and when I tried to reinstall it windows media center and player will not reinstall.

I removed Internet Explorer 9 after having some problems with it here on this 64 bit machine. Now Firefox has upgraded to version 5 and is no longer compatible with my Dishnetwork Slingplayer. This means I can't watch my Dish programming on the road.
Anyway if I try to reload IE9 it says it can't install because a newer version is already loaded. It does not appear on the program list under "add or remove programs"!
I have the google search engine redirect virus and am crossing my fingers that a solution can be found as i posted the appropriate logs inteh appropriate forum. However, based on the results from other members with the same problem, I am not too confident. So I guess my next option is to reinstall my Windows 7 pro, but i don't have the recovery disk ( I have a pavilion dv8 Hewlett packard). So do i go to the store and buy Windows 7 and reinstall it? One of my drives is called recovery, but i don't know what is in it. there is a folder called recovery, but when I click it, it gives me a warning that my partitions will be formatted. no files.
Every time I rip a CD album I cannot add the album info & the album disappears off the the player once I've shut it down. Also an auto playlist I created a while back has stopped work & I can't delete it. I'm thinking I need to reinstall the player.
Recently my computer has a problem, I want to try to reinstall the system. But I do not know how to do! Who has a simple method to reinstall the system?I just need win7 Home Edition?
I just spent the last half day fixing a laptop, had to buy a new hard drive and reinstall the OS from recovery discs. (Win 7 64 bit, on Satellite Toshiba) I just noticed that I did not install it with a partition for the OS, Is this going to be a big problem at some point? I had checked off "Factory Settings" when installing, I just assumed that it would have installed with a partition. Before I go any further with this laptop I would like to have some input please. I just spent the last 3 hours installing updates and finally SP1.
My computer was blue screening, freezing, locking up, etc so I took it to a repair shop and to make sure all the hardware was ok. All the tests passed but the problems were still continuing. They eventually decided to reinstall my OS which is Windows 7 and everything's been working fine except my computer is a lot slower and frequently feels laggy where they mouse would freeze up for a few seconds or move slowly across the screen. I have already tried cleaning out my registry with CCleaner and tried defragmenting but to no avail. I was wondering if there is another way to solve my computer lag problem.
So, for performance reasons I need to wipe and reinstall windows on my laptop. Do I need to buy a new registration code [$$ ] or will windows recognize that the computer is the same and let me use the same key??
dual booted my computer with Windows 7 and Windows XP and right now Im trying to reinstall all the drivers I had o nwindows 7 to windows xp. However im starting to wonder if thats even possible? I tried to install the intel extreme graphics driver to windows xp and it doesnt seem to work at all. Is there realy no way to install my drivers on windows XP?
I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and recently had a system crash. I got a blue screen stating ''hard error'' and my system was promptly restarted. Startup repair tried to do his things but it failed(and did an endless loop in trying to do so). I couldn't boot in safe mode, I couldn't do anything. I resorted to reinstalling Windows 7 using my CD. I took the custom installation rather than the upgrade because the upgrade would essentially lead to the endless startup repair loot. Now, after everything was done, it's said my old Windows is still on the computer under the file name ''Windows old'', I checked and it is indeed there. Wouldn't there be a way to reinstall Windows old? I really don't want to be forced to reinstall all my drivers and updates.
I can't get windows to reinstallI changed the controllers to ahci (because i think the system isnt reconising my ssd as i only get a 5.9 experience score with it) in regedit which seemed to work then changed ahci in bios then windows won't boot , I've tried to run my genuine windows disk to reinstall windows but it won't get past about 20% then I get 'windows cannot install required files, the file does not exist, make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation, error code 0x80070002
