I hate the Mac os, so I went and got windows 7. I have the 15 inch 2011 MacBook pro, and need windows!! It says I need to install the internet drivers, and cannot get on the web with windows without them. I seemed to misplace my Internet drivers. I have another Mac. Is there a website I can burn them onto a disk from? Or do I have to go buy a new osx disk?
i'm trying to run bootcamp on my mac, as i have no blank Dvd's i'm trying to use my 8gb pendrive. I downloaded my files for windows 7 as an iso, used Windows 7 USB TOOL, but then it says:Files copied successfully. However, we were unable to run bootsect to make the USB device bootable. (I've also tried Universal USB Installer, this time with no errors. But when i connect it to my mac, nothing happens.
Before the flaming begins, yes I'm a mac owner. For reasons which I won't get into mac was just a better choice for me, and I recently purchased a new mac book pro (I was always a pc guy before that). Well I don't know much about mac's and i'm still on the learning curve but that doesn't concern you guys much so here's my question:
I'm looking to get either windows xp or windows 7 to run through bootcamp so I can play games (yes we all know pc's are better for running games, but for now let that fact be irrelevant.) I'm looking to play games such as Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Starcraft 2, and Diablo 3, as well as a few of my favorite oldies. So should I get XP to run these or when these games come out will they only be compatible with Windows 7?
Also I'm already running bootcamp so if I have to run emulation software to run these games through windows 7 I don't know if it will work? And if you guys do suggest windows 7 should I go with basic or premium? (do i need the xp emulation software or can I just save that $100). As I said i'm looking to play older games that were made for XP when it first came out, as well as games that have yet to come out and probably won't till sometime in 2010 (hopefully). Thanks for your help!
I have an elderly friend about to buy his first mac. The question concerns his desire to do video editing on W7.
The problem seems to center round the way in which W7 runs apps that are XP only. Whilst Bootcamp appears to be able to partition the disc and run W7, video editing, capturing in particular, sends CPU power consumption up to the max. Will the XP emulator in W7 be man enough to tackle these tasks.
My friend is running XP pro 32bit and Pinnacle studio 10. The short workaround is to shift him onto iMovie but as he is 84 I would like to keep him on familiar ground as much as possible.
About halfway through my Windows 7 upgrade (32 bit), I get this error:
Windows cannot install required files. The file does not exist. Make sure
all files required for installation are available, and restart the
installation. Error code: 0x80070002
I'm running the upgrade through the Vista partition on my mac. Does anyone have any solutions? I don't want a clean install, since I've got way too many important applications installed on my partition, I don't have to spend days reinstalling everything.
I just recently installed Windows 7 Enterprise on my Macbook Pro using bootcamp. The installation went through seamlessly but now I am having issues with figuring out how to get my wifi to work. I don't really know what drivers to look for to get my MACs wireless adapter to work in windows.
im having a problem on my macbook w/ mac os x 10.4.9 and installed windows 7 via campboot.... but after i finished the installation and restarted it while holding down the option key, it wont show the selection of operating systems instead, i got this password box........ i also cannot boot back to my mac os and also on my dvd even pressing 'C' button (seems any boot key combinations are not working coz i got no apple logo and no chime sound at startup)... but it can load to windows 7.... what will i do.. im out of ideas... having no luck with boatloader easybcd.... i inserted ubuntu 10.04 and boot from there... i navigate to disk utility and i can see there the hs+ partition of my mac... i itried to fsck that drive but i just can't coz its journaled enabled and i can't disabled it through my mac coz as i said i cant boot to it...
When my friend upgraded my ram to 8 gigs, He didn't realie that windows was only using half of its computing abilitiy to purchase my copy of mw3 in which one of there employees said no problem, If you have bootcamp
I have installed Windows 7 on Mac Bootcamp. It has been working perfectly fine for the past year but it is now restricting me to login with a black screen. The last time Windows 7 worked, I closed my laptop cover to put it to sleep. I came back to find that I was greeted with a black screen after opening my laptop. I rebooted my computer multiple times but the outcome is always the same: I would see the Windows icon (4 coloured squares), it would then show my cursor and then the screen would go black. I have tried to repair my computer but it says that there are no errors.I also tried to check for any other possible errors but they all come out negative.
There is this really old game I used to play on a windows (I believe it was Windows Xp service pack 2) called Lego Island of Extreme Stunts (1). So naturally I try to play the game and it obviously doesn't work. So I try out compatibility mode. The problem is, I can't find out what compatibility will work. I've tried everything that other people have said would work with no luck. Here are the problems: When I load the game without compatibility mode, the game run through the title screen until I hit the new game or load game button and then it crashes after trying to load for a while. When I run it in windows 98/me (this is what someone on another forum told people to do) I hit the pay game button, but nothing starts. I just have a desktop with no game popping up. When I run windows Xp (service pack 2 and 3) I get a window to start playing a game (unlike windows 98/me) but then it starts the first loading screen and it never loads the title screen. It just freezes and I have to find a way to stop the game without having to restart. I've tried windows 2000 with the same results as windows xp Other information: I'm running bootcamp. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the game whatsoever but I think it would be something good to know.
What I'd like to know: What am I doing wrong? How can I run the game on windows 7 (bootcamp)? Can I run the game on windows 7 (bootcamp)? If I can't run the game, why can't I?
How can I install Windows 7 on my external hard drive using Bootcamp on my Mac?Do not say it would be slow. I installed Mac OS X on it and it works just as fast as on my internal drive and there are no problems at all.
I currently own a Retina Macbook Pro, which as you probably know, does not have an ethernet port. Unfortunately, my college dorms only have ethernet, so I bought a USB-ethernet adapter. While the adapter works fine in OSX, it is completely non-functional when I run Windows 7 via Bootcamp. Can anybody explain to me how to get it to work?
I will try to be as descriptive as possible. I currently have GoWifi to access my internet (my room mate has it to)But for the past 4 days my computer has been running horribly slow. I can't use a enthernet cable becuase "Gowifi" is only wireless. I use google chrome most of the time, but the internet is slow on chrome and explorer. I have tried the "ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew" method. I have also tried to Reset WINSOCK, Reset IPv4, Reset IPv6, and then restarted my computer but still did not do the trick. I have tried various things from forums on other sites and this site but it still is not doing the trick. Is there Anything you guys could tell me that could fix my problem? And i do have a windows 7 computer.
anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I can no longer upload files to the internet. When I try to Internet Explorer 9 crashes and restarts. The same thing happens when I right click on a picture on the internet and try to save it to my computer. The only changes to my computer was I upgraded the Norton Anti Virus software. I've reinstalled IE9 and same thing. I tried reinstalling Norton and same thing.
I am trying to share my internet connection thru my laptop wit my ps3 but iyz not working for some reason.when I search for a network wit my game it finds the ip address but no internet connection.
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110, Intel core 3 processor, and Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit os. I have recently reinstalled windows 7 from the windows 8 os. I can't access my wireless internet, I can only get to the internet via hard wire. I have searched Dell and Intel for the network controller driver and the sm bus controller driver, but to no avail.
internet connection sharing: No internet access!?I am trying to setup internet connection sharing between my laptop (Connected to WiFi) and my pc which has no wireless connection. I've spent a day or two troubleshooting problems such as 'LAN' doesn't have valid configuration and such, i found a solution and I've got the two connections to be able to see each other, but i can't get an internet connection to go through.I have my ipconfig /all for both computers available: (Both have had excess trimmed off to save on character limit)[CODE]
I have been having problems with my new computer running Win7 Ultimate and have had to do an upgrade install. Now IE8 and Incredimail are unable to connect to the internet although Norton, Windows, System Mechanic, etc.,can all download updates
Am using dell inspiron laptop with windows 7 home premium 64 bit , i have a free wifi in our collage when i give connect it was getting connected but there is no internet access i had tried with trouble shoot it was giving problem regarding DNS
A few days ago the public wireless internet i used worked fine and i had no problems with my computer. Now when i try to connect to it, it isn't allowing me access. It works just fine on my sisters laptop that is the same model and brand as mine.

For some reason my hp notebook will not connect to the internet, its just stopped working recently and I cant seem to find the problem. It says I have signal to my router. When I open the browser it says I am not connected, if I try and run the connection wizard/ diagnosis it says an error occured while troubleshooting an unexpected error has occurred, the troubleshooting wizard can't continue.
Several topics are out there, but I didn't manage to find any solution, so I'll ask againI noticed this because I couldn't connect battlefield bad company 2 to the ea servers (to sign in).now, no need to panic I thought, things like that happen, but it has been going on for a week, so I started to investigate. While trying some EA domains I found that Support Home Page wouldn't load up on my windows 7 64bit (sp1).now this site does load up on my dual-booted linux... as well as on any other pc in my network. In fact, I even tried my mobile network on windows 7 but it simply wont load!So I went trough this list of things I tried out:Removing ESET internet security (nod32) using the special uninstall tool Turning off windows firewall Resetting windows firewall to defaults flushing dns cache reset host file renew LAN connection reset tcp/ip stack microsoft fix it firewall repair tool Several network solution finders in windows Direct connection to my modem Restore windows to earliest point I could find now I dunno... but that seems to sum up all possible fixes I'm aware of.(just a month old), and apart from this thing it runs fine.
Windows tool: "Source (customersupport.ea.com) is online, but doesn't respond to connection attempts".Well windows is right about that...I can resolve (nslookup) the address from cmd, I can even ping it successfully! For now I installed a squid proxy server on my linux router to connect to every website, but that still doesn't fix my game.More-over, WHAT could this be? because I'm completely in the dark here
This is a problem that has probably been solved but I have spent some time looking for the solution without success.
Windows 7 (6.1.7100 build 7100) indicates that I have no Internet connection in spite of the fact that I can browse without any problems (see attached image).
Mostly this is not a problem except that I want to connect to an external server to upload files. Normally I use map network drive for this. When I attempt this, I fail because it doesn't see the Internet connection.
I have tried the following solutions which haven't worked Disabling link scanning in AVG Disabling all other network connections
I was installing a software on my other laptop (it had SQL software with it) and I ran into some trouble as I got error problems that the installation of the software had failed and now whatever I do, I can't access the web! Sure enough, my wireless connection connects successfully and it indicates that I am on the "Internet" but every time I try to use either firefox or internet explorer to go to a web site, it says I don't have a connection.
I am running a modem and wireless router which is working fine. I have my home computer up and running (Windows 7)- no problems at all. However, my work laptop (windows 7 professional) will connect to my wireless network but will not 'access' the internet. I have set up a connection from scratch; changed the network settings; restarted (everything) plugged in wth Ethernet cord; run a router check... and honestly I am way out of my league in figuring this one out.I tried several of the solutions for forum threads around the problem of 'connected to internet but no internet access', but part of my confusion is that one computer works fine, but the other simply won't allow access. When I use a when I use an open network it won't allow me on at all. But when I set up my private network it will connect and show internet access for 10 SECONDS at a time and then No access... like a constant flicker...
[code] I never had this issue on Windows Vista, occasionally my internet will randomly dropout. Limited Internet Access". When it does I can do a few things to get it working again:
- Disable, then enable my wireless card and reconnect. - Uninstall the card, then re-install and reconnect. - Disconnect from the internet myself and reconnect.
Either way it gets super frustrating. There is 1 other computer plugged directly into the router that does not experience any issues. In addition, I have 1 laptop (windows 7) that works great and 1 laptop (Windows XP) which works great.

I have a Dell Laptop and use a MiFi internet connection. For some reason I can't connect to the internet since last night. I see that it says my IPV4 and IPV6 connections have "no Internet and Network access".
