Adaptec AIC-7870 Driver Issue

I installed Windows 7 Beta x64 a few days ago and I am really enjoying it. I would like to keep it as my main OS but the major problem is that I perform backups on a tape drive connected to an Adaptec AHA-2940U2W SCSI PCI Host Adaptor which is not recognized in Windows 7. Adaptec's website has only 32-bit drivers for Windows Vista.

In Vista x64, the workaround was to install the "Adaptec AIC-7870 PCI SCSI Controller (Emulated)" driver, but this driver is not included with 7. I searched for this driver on the Internet but could not find it. Is it possible to copy the driver from Vista x64 and install it on 7 x64? If it is, can someone please send me the files as I only have the 32-bit version of Vista.

Adaptec SATA Controller Drivers

I have an adaptec sata controller card, which I was contemplating using for running my two raid drives.

I know that there are Vista 64 drivers availiable to download, and so my question is this,

will Vista 64 disk drivers work with Windows 7 Beta build 7000?

I thought i'd ask here first, as it seems silly to reformat and save disc images, reinstall etc, if someone here already knows the answer.

Also, is there a simple way transferring all the user's data and programme data if I wanted to upgrade to a newer build, as obviously backing up the disc image won't work I suppose with a newer build of 7?

Installing Windows 7 X86 On Adaptec Cerc Sata

I have Win 7 x86 Enterprise through the company I work with. I was in charge of beta testing it on partition in the SATA raid array on our SunFire v20z server. It installs like it would on any other computer, does not hang up, and reboots to finish install. when it boots however, it shows win7 boot screen, then goes blank, then restarts computer. when i boot into safe mode it hangs on disk.sys and then BSODs. can someone please tell me what is going on?? I have invested over 2 weeks of work into setting it up.

Flashing Bios On An Adaptec 1220 SATA Drive Controller

I'm going to install RC1 in the next few days.

I was looking to test the stability within RC1 of an adaptec 1220SA card I have to control the system drives. I have the Vista 64bit driver for the card as this is the newest listed.

I have created a recovery disc in beta build 7000 and hope to use this to boot into a DOS shell and follow the instructions given on the adaptec site:

This is the BIOS release v6.0-0 Build 2330 for the Adaptec SATA II RAID 1220SA Controller.

This BIOS should only be used together with Driver v1.6.12086 in Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista.

This self-extracting archive includes the flash utility, the BIOS image file and the Release Notes.

Caution: If the BIOS update fails with an error message "unable to find file" or "target controller does not match", please see ASK Answer ID 15241

Installation Instruction: This file is self extracting and will unzip to the directory adaptec1220sa. Copy the expanded files to a floppy diskette. The expanded files can also be copied to a USB device or CD-R.

Shut down the operating system and reboot to DOS from a bootable floppy disk, USB device or CD-R. Insert the media with the update files. Run the flash utility program named AFU.EXE included in this download to backup the current BIOS and flash the new BIOS image.

I'm hoping to expand the bios update file onto a cd for the second drive or alternatively stick it on a USB stick.

My question is this, when I am in the dos shell, what do I do!

No Drivers Found. Click Load Driver To Provide A Mass Storage Driver F?

Okay so, my laptop's system is unable to boot, so I just tried to format it since I have to do that for a very long time, and when it asked me in which partition I want to install windows there was nothing, although when I clicked "Load Driver" I could access the hard disk's files, the hard disk IS listed in the bios normally but windows does not recognize it, I tried using Kaspersky Rescue disk(the only CD I had along with the recovery disk)and when I used the File Manager, the hard disk still didn't show, are there any drivers I have to install?I have burned both fujitsu9that's my laptop) and Seagate's websites and can't find anything, I have searched forums but the only answers were "check if your hd is listen in bios".So, i IS listed in bios but I can't reinstall windows nor access it
