Activate English Version With Spanish Version Key
I am buying a new PC in Spain but want Windows 7 Home Premium in English, which does not seem to be available anywhere here. So my techie guy is downloading an English version (pirate???) and at same time buying a genuine Spanish version. He says he will then use the key code from the Spanish pack to validate the English version.
Is this possible, and could I encounter any problems later? How can I be 100% sure (before I leave the shop!) that I have a validated, genuine English version of Windows 7 that will continue to work indefinitely?

My HP TouchSmart 300 (December 09) PC, OE Win 7 Premium works only in "Spanish" as I purchased this PC in Mexico where I presently reside on a temporary basis for the winter. I do not speak Spanish. I want to use the "Anytime Upgrade" to upgrade from Win 7 Premium to Win 7 Ultimate. Windows 7 Ultimate has 'English' language amongst it's multiple language possibilities. Is there any reason why I should not be able to install the upgrade English language Windows 7 Ultimate over the HP OE Spanish language Windows 7 Premium?

Product Key Error - Invalid Key For This Version Of Windows
Just successfully installed Win 7(RC) on a partition I created on a Vista(32-bit) Home Premium machine,so now I've set up a dual-boot. Anyways,as I am going to enter the product key that was given with my download it's giving me an "invalid key for this version of Windows" error. And along the process of identifying the cause,I realized I've installed a "Home Premium" version of the RC download;is this how it's supposed to be? This RC,a Home Premium version? Just want to verify because on the Computer's property page it's saying it's only a "30-day eval copy". How am I going to get another product key for this version of th RC?For what I've read through forums,this RC is supposed to be an Ultimate version? Anybody?

Upgrade Path From Localized Version Of Vista To MSDNAA EN US Version Of Win7
I'm running an OEM version of Windows Vista Home Premium, and since I'm a class B netizen I only had access to a localized version of my operative system. The MSDNAA graciously makes a copy of Windows 7 Professional English and a copy of Windows 7 Multilanguage Pack available to me. Howerer there is no localized version of the former and no WinVista equivalent of the latter. The Windows installer aborts pointing out the localization conflict and links me to this unhelpful page. My OEM seems to have disabled the option of using Windows Anytime Upgrade, so I will not pour money into this option just to get the option to relocalize my OS to English 'just in case'. Also, I would really rather not lose a week into driver scavenging, clicking through programs installers, staring at progress bars getting filled (multiple times). I'd really want to just upgrade. Is this a dead end? Do I have to cross my fingers and wait for Godot err a localized version of Win7 to appear on MSDNAA? Or is there a way around this?

Difference Between Full Version And Upgrade Version
I have upgrade my computer (E6750 to i5 750, 3G DDR2 to 4G DDR3) and I am thinking about upgrading to 7 64bit. Currently I have a dual boot system with XP Home 32 and Vista Home Premium 32. I want to upgrade the Vista to Window 7 64 and leave the XP there. I am wondering can I but the upgrade version for the job?

Student Version Product Key
This isn't something I'd do necessarily, but in theory would I be able to install Windows 7 Home Premium RTM (x86 or x64) and then use a legit product key from, for example the $30 student edition? I'd think it'd work, because the only thing different from the $30 edition and the full ~$200 edition is the price. It's the same OS otherwise. I ask also because what if I lose the ISO / burned disc of the digital download that's found here: http://www.win741.com/ ? The product key I'd be getting with the $30 Home Premium would be legit, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. Are student edition product keys VLKs? I'm not proud of this nor am I condoning it, but when I needed a copy of XP Pro I obtained via torrent. It was Windows XP Professional Student Edition, and the key was a VLK. Is that the same with Windows 7 keys when sold as a student edition?

Can I install Windows 7 upgrade without having an earlier version installed on the hard drive? In other words is there an option durring installation of Windows 7 that I can just insert my earlier version disk and enter its activation key to satisify the upgrade requirement?

Download 64 Bit Version With 32bit Key
I will be attending a W7 launch event for IT/Developers, and I understand they give out a 32bit copy of W7 Ult. The problem is my developer machine has 8GB of RAM, so I would really need the 64bit. Is there a way to get a hold of the 64bit version using the 32bit key, and not have to wait till general release in Oct? (Unfortunately I don't have technet, etc - So I can't go that route.)

I have pre-ordered Windows 7 Professional from the internet, but I am going to be getting a laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it around the same time. Can I type in the license key / product code for W7 Pro in to the Home Premium version and will it upgrade it? We currently run 3 PCs at home (all 32 bit): PC 1: German Windows Vista Home Premium PC 2 & 3: English Windows XP Home I'd like to purchase the Windows 7 family pack (English) to upgrade all of the PCs (clean install preferred). Questions: 1. Can all 3 PCs be upgraded to the English version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with the family pack, despite the different language versions? 2. This Version Of Word For Windows Is Not Compatible With Your Windows Version
I have installed Word 97 a couple of weeks ago and have been using it heavily since. (I can probably afford a more recent version but I prefer '97 to all the newer ones.) In any case, it is working like a charm and so is Windows 7. There is one slight annoyance though. Every time I start Word 97, a little window pops up containing the subject message. All right, I got the message, why keep telling me a zillion times a day? Is there some way to get rid of the pesky message?Â

Use 64-bit Key On A 32 Bit Upgrade Version
As student I purchased the digital-river Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and I'm happy with it. My university store also lets me buy a Windows 7 DVD for $ 43. I'm considering doing this for a possible second computer or to upgrade a laptop we have. I want to buy the 64-bit version (since the future is 64-bit). It seems the university store either sells 64-bit or 32-bit DVDs, not one of the packages with both DVDs. Could I buy the 64-bit DVD and install one of the 32-bit bit versions with that 64-bit key (the digital river links had leaked) on the laptop for the time being? the laptop only has 32 bit processor. But it might only live for 1-2 years. then I'd get some 64-bit computer. I'd buy the Pro-version. I don't think there is anything illegal, since I legally buy two different student discounts from different vendors. I also will use that one key only for one license at a time (and also assume once I register online MS makes sure it only works on one PC).

English Win 7 Key + German Install Disks, Will It Work ?
I have an OEM version of Win 7 Pro (English) currently installed on my system. I am currently upgrading my Motherboard and CPU, building another system with the old parts. As the recipients of my old setup are German, the OS needs to be in German for them also. Here is my dilemma. When I pickup a new copy of Win 7 it will be in German (as I am living in Germany). They need a German instillation of 7 and my current OEM key is locked to the old motherboard. Will I be able to use that English OEM key with a German instillation, then use the new German key with my current English disks?

Lost The Key To Activate
I installed 7 rc 7100 alone and had some problems with Steam. I installed Vista back in and upgraded 7 rc 7100. It now tells me that I have 27 days to activate the rc and I lost the key. Can someone help me with maybe a master key. There must be a record of my install being activated before I had to reinstall it.

I am interested in Windows 7 and I am currently running the Windows 7 release candidate. I have in my possession a Windows XP Pro product key. It is not activated on my current computer, due to the fact that it's OEM, and previously activated on an older computer that got fried. If I were to purchace a Windows 7 upgrade package, would I be able to activate it using my XP product key? or would I have to purchase a 'full' version of Windows 7?

Full Disk To Install Activate Via Upgrade Key
I recently bought the full retail Windows 7 Home Premium, I installed it on my pc and everything is going great. I also have a copy of the upgrade offered to students and a valid key for that. My brother wants to install Windows 7 on his comp (He's running windows vista premium 64) and I was wondering if I could use my Windows 7 installation disk to install it, and then just use the upgrade key to activate it? I want to do a custom (clean) install over windows vista, and then delete the windows.old folder. I don't see a problem and a disk seems easier than that .exe file you get from downloading on digital river, so I was just wondering if it would work.

Cannot Activate Win 7 Evaluation Copy With Technet Key
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit Evaluation copy Build 7100 installed. I never bothered entering a serial key, however now that it is prompting me to. The keys provided for me through technet are not working. What exactly am I supposed to do? Reinstalling Windows 7 is not an option as I have nearly 200GB of data on this drive that were pulled off a failing (now pooched) hard drive.

Activate Windows 7 Build 7600 RTM With An RC Key
i got troubled with activating this new RTM build of windows 7, so i tryed alot of things, then i used the same trick someone used on build 7264 to activate using an RC Key. But the thing that troubled me is that his file had a mistake and didn't copy all, so you had to do alot manually. So i decided to read the files he wrote, learned from it and wrote my own. There is only one downside, the build version in the lower right corner of the screen will appear again. but you could try using a watermark remover. Didn't try it myself cuz the watermark doesn't botter me Ok, here it is how to activate build 7600 in 4 simple stept 1. Download the attachment 2. Extract the rar file 3. Run the install.cmd (make sure to disable UAC or run it as administrator) 4. I just ordered a new Lenovo Thinkpad R400 with Vista Business preinstalled for personal use. I am still waiting for its delivery and will order the free Windows 7 Business upgrade from Lenovo asap.The company I work for has joined MS Enterprise Agreement and therefore I just got the volume license version of Windows 7 Business. Is it possible to install the Win7 business VL now, and then activate it once I got the Win7 OEM key from Lenovo?
