View 1 RepliesI recently installed Windows 7 to my SSD. Its only 64GB so I set Windows up so that the Users folder was on my seconday (X drive instead of my SSD, and setup a Program Files and Program Files (x86) on my secondary drive. I used this. I deleted the account I made when installing windows and accidenally clicked delete files as well. This deleted all of the data I had in my Users folder and many in Program Files and other places. I used Recuva, but now all of the deleted files are in one folder instead of their respective locations. Is there anything I can do aside from reinstalling and salvaging what I can and reinstalling all of my programs?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy recycle bin does no longer retain deleted files and every time I delete a file it gives the warning that the file will be permanently deleted. Custom size of the recycle bin is 16375 MB; the option: don't move files to the recycle bin, remove files immediately when deleted is unticked; the option: display delete confirmation is ticked. This malfunction started after I downloaded a set of Windows7 updates. In the recycle bin there are still 3 files I had deleted as usual before the updating. I tried to go back to a restore point made before the updating but all the same the recycle bin does not keep newly deleted files.

The BIG problem is that the stuff on the network drive was not current, and since I cleared the offline files, they were all deleted and now she has been set back as a result of this. I want to know if there is ANY ways to recover these files...I used the following solution in order to clear it up...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a search on this and could not find anything. Once in awhile my desktop will have a bunch of random files I deleted a long time ago. I always empty it too. There won't be anything in the recycle bin or on the desktop and then I'll go to look at it after awhile and some other group of files will be there. I have tried the whole "rd /s /q C:$Recycle.bin" on every drive on my computer. Windows is installed on C:. It isn't even the same group of files each time, it is just random files I've deleted over the past 2 months. I noticed a folder for a demo install of InDesign comes up a lot and says it is in use when I try to re-delete it, could Adobe's crap software be breaking it?

After doing so, I realized that I can't find those downloaded files. I have no idea where those files went. They were .rar and ZIP files and I can't seem to locate them. Does anybody know how I can find those downloaded files (where they might have ended up with the Downloads folder gone) and how I can restore my Downloads folder
View 7 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I just reinstall fresh windows 7. After I install the OS, I just realize that my recycle bin is empty. Before I installed windows 7, some of my deleted files on my other hard disk is there. But now, I could not find it anymore. After that, I tried to select show hidden folder, files, and drives and unsellect hide protected operating system files on folder options. I try to browse to one of my hard disk, which has the deleted files on recycle bin before, then I found it the recycle bin icon there as well (For instance, the path of the drive is: N:$RECYCLE.BIN). I tried to look at the properties, and I found that the missing size of the deleted files was on there. The problem is I cannot access it. When I tried to open the recycle bin, it just empty. I need some help with this. How do I retrieve the files again to the OS recycle bin, not the hard disk recycle bin? Is it possible to access it again? I really need those files back.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've just acquired a new laptop with Windows 7, and so last night used Easy Transfer to get all my documents onto the new machine. Today I've been trying to get everything in order. A few minutes ago I noticed that the documents folder contained a subfolder, also named documents, so I decided to get rid of the subfolder and place the files directly in the main documents folder. When I then deleted the subfolder, all my documents disappeared (almost 9 gigabytes). They were not in the bin, and I could not redo the deletion.Luckily I see they can be found under C:/ User/ Documents, but I cannot seem to be able to copy them to replace them in the Documents

Now my friends want me to do it to theirs, and I've got one of theirs with me now, and I thought rather than clearing the password I could find out the password so I could do the others easier.I've used OphCrack with the "Vista Free" and "Vista Special" tables and neither of them can find the password. Is there anything else I can do to find out the Administrator password
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can delete items but when I go to the recyle bin to view or recover there are no files there. At the bottom it repost 0 files evn though I know they're there. I donot have it set up to skip the recycle bin and just delete. When I go to "empty recycle bin" even though it reports 0 files it says do you want to delete all of these items. Sometimes it goes as far as to say " these 3 or 4 or whatever items. reporting that ther are files there but not viewable. Obviously this makes recovery impossible. I've tried deleting the $recycle.bin file and let windows put it back and then reboot to no avail. It just puts it back broken as before. Ive tried running command promt as administrator with the following command: C:windowssystem32>rd /s /q C:$Recycle.bin [then it enter] to no avail. It just says "system 32 is not recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file" No matter what Ive tried it just doesn't work.

Now the toolbar on the bottom won't show up; the desktop is blank; pretty much just a background. I tried restarting it, it didn't work. I have a Windows 7 laptop. I just need to know how to get back these processes and get my desktop back to normal.
