View 3 Replies View Relatedi installed win 7 RC1 (32 bit) on my laptop a couple weeks ago..its been great, however i hit a bit of a snag now..
now when i installed it, windows got all my drivers and everything was fine, lately i decided to reinstall a game i usually played, and notice that it crashes once in a while.(screen goes fuzzy, then eventually get a BSOD)
i checked the driver in device manager it was an old version (from 2006)..now for the past hour ive been trying to update it to the newest version and nothing at all is happening, i downloaded the drivers from hp website (used the vista 32 bit drivers), tried installing it..nothing happens..got the drivers from ati's website, try installing them..and still it refuses to update my drivers
has this happened to anybody before? any ideas as to how i could get around it?
i also tried uninstalling the driver fully..then reinstalling the ati drivers manually, to no avail..to get the computer working properly again i had to manually make windows download an update to fix it..
I've installed the provided graphic drivers for my Toshiba Satellite l30 for win XP. the resolution (1200*800) works fine but i canot even use the "standard" colour scheme (i'm using home basic). (it is not even displayed in the options). if i use any graphic dependant software, it would jus hang up and there u go!, The BSOD!
I downloaded the latest wddm supported graphic drivers for my card 2 years ago from microsoft and i stil have them but the thing is i forgot how to replace or update the existing driver. the drivers given by the microsoft is not in an exe form but a bunch of dlls and an inf file in a .cab. i tried updating the driver from device manager but with no sucess. i made it work few months ago but hate myself now that i forgot.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe performance scores on my less than 2 year old computer are :- Processor & memory, both 7.3 Graphics 4.6 gaming 6.1 and hard disk 5.9. I have tried AMD fo poor graphics score, they suggested downloading their latest Catalyst driver suite. I followed their instructions to the letter and, no change. They now suggest that I upgrade to their Firepro range. As a pensioner, I never intend to play games on my computer, but do intend to try and record the family's life in photo slide shows and video, so only need the graphics side of the graphics card to work well.As I seem to have a slow card, I thought I'd go up on the internet and buy a faster one for £50 approx. (I want an AMD/ATI card, as I have an AMD Athlon quad core processor.) Trouble is all the review sites only deal with the gaming speeds of the cards, not the side I would use for video editing. So can anyone tell me, or guide me towards a web site that can, how to choose a reasonably good compatible graphics card that is geared towards video and photo editing

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having this problem 2 days ago and it's a bit frustrating. I was just playing some games when it suddenly restarted automatically. My device manager doesn't seem to acknowledge my graphics card anymore for some apparent reason. I've tried plugging my monitor in my graphics card and it just seems like on a standby mode with the blank screen showing nothing.
But when I plug my monitor to my motherboard port it shows up fine and is in the device manager. I've tried cleaning my drivers with "Driver Sweeper" then reinstalling the lastest driver for my graphics card, but that didn't do anything. I was hoping if anyone knows what's wrong with my graphics card . Thank you.
Is my graphics card burnt/broken?
EDIT:
Graphics card - Radeon x1900
