I have set up my surround sound 5.1 speakers recently.I went into the Realtek HD Audio Manager, and set it to use "5.1 surround sound",but as I try to play music, sound only comes through the front speakers.I have tried looking through all sorts of settings, and cant find what I could have set wrong.I have tested the rear speakers in the sound manager, and it plays sound through the rear speakers in the tests, but Itunes, and internet explorer do not play sound through the rear speakers. If I change the defult device in the second screenshot to use Realtek Digital output, no sound comes out at all.
My computer was blue screening. I had a warranty RMA through my manufacturer and I just got it back, fixed. However since then, my Logitech X-530 5.1 surround speakers have been messed up. Initially I thought the front two were not working, but when I was testing I found the Left Rear works and the Right Rear sound comes through the Front Left speaker. The Subwoofer is fine, but the Right Front and Rear have no sound. To be more clear, when my realtek audio manager tests the front two speakers, there is zero sound. When it checks the LR it comes through the LR fine, but the RR comes through the LF speaker. I've unplugged, checked wires, made sure everything was plugged in correctly, and I reinstalled my realtek HD audio driver also.s.
i recently brought sony32EX650 LED TV with Sony DVD player with home theater.and i want to watch HD movies on this TV with surround sound but we know dvd player don't play the Hd quality videos. But on TV's usb we can play those Hd videos and they have 5.1 surround sound also.and i can't get 5.1 through TV's USB. is there any possible to get 5.1 through TV's usb via home theater.
I installed SP1 for windows 7 this week and since then my sound is not working propely. Its only playing my front 2 speakers (Not rear 2 or centre on 5.1s) I have installed new drivers (Realtek) but nothing. If I run a sound test all speakers ding (on realtek or windows audio settings) Great but any application just pipes sound out to front 2 speakers. Is there another setting within windows ive missed?
I have a system running Windows 7 64 bit and a set of Logitech z5500 speakers. Originally I was using a Creative X-Fi Titanium Fata1ity board. In XP I was able to get surround sound. When I switched to Win 7, the surround sound stopped working. Sometimes it would test as working in the sound app in the control panel and sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes I could fix it by reinstalling the board's driver, but it always stopped again over time. Generally I had to make do with a front R/L/C system and the subwoofer. After goggling the issue extensively, I finally decided that the problem was some unidentified conflict between the Creative card and Win 7. So I researched sound cards and finally settled on an Asus Xonar ST with an H6 card. I hooked the system up via a setup that looked like the chart here: [URL]. However, now all the sound comes out of the front R/L/C--and no subwoofer!
I recently purchased a 5.1 sound system, which I have connected to the S/PDIF output on my MB (Gigabyte Guerrilla) however my system seems insistent on sticking to a 2.1 output. A quick search shows that I should go into speaker setup, find the correct playback device and reconfigure it; however when I go to this page the option to configure is greyed out so I cant use it!I have gone through the properties page and when I do the supported format tests sound is done through all connected speakers so I know they can physically receive a signal.Does anyone have ideas as to why the configure option is greyed out? I am on an administrator account and UAC is turned off.
my laptop doesn't have the sound card to provide 7.1 surround sound, it does however have Dolby Surround Sound, so I was thinking if I purchased a 7.1 surround sound headset, how can I configure each speakers on it? Since currently the only audio channel I have is Stereo. The headset is plugged in by USB, so it must act like a sound card on its own, if I plug in the USB headset, will it provide me another audio channel for 7.1?
I just got some surround sound headphones. When I restart my computer after having set my sound configuration for the headphones to 7.1 (supported by these headphones) the sound configuration will be at 5.1. I don't know what is causing it to keep going to 5.1.When the set up is at 7.1 the two rear speakers are enabled. This might seem small but I play battlefield 3 and being able to better hear enemies who are behind me willter and this is one of the reasons I got the headphones so I definitely prefer these two speakers to work.
Well i have a stereo 5.1 system by Creative, version SBS 580.When i first got the computer everything was fine, then my brother bought those headphones, so we didnt use the speakers at all.so after about 1-2 years without use i plugged them in and tried to use them. The problem occured was that only the subwoofer worked, none of the speaked did,and the subwoofer only worked at the "Realtek HD Audio Manager" program.I tried reading forums of creative, tried to connect the system to the computer in many ways, all of the ways give me the same result, only the subwoofer produces sound.the way creative's guide say to connect the speakers is like that: ImageShack - Online Photo and Video Hosting The program that im using is "Realtek HD Audio Manager" : ImageShack - Online Photo and Video Hosting so when i play this play button, only the subwoofer makes the sound, non of the speakers. All of them are connected to the subwoofer correctly, they are turned on.
I am having trouble getting my audio from my laptop to play as 5.1 surround. I have my Laptop with a HDMI running to my Vizio E260mv TV and then a audio optical cable running into my Sony BDVE390 surround sound system. It could just be a configuration problem with my PC's audio settings or something more I am not certain,
I've got a bit of a problem with my audio with my new installation of Windows 7. Previously I had Vista installed, and had no problems with my Realtek HD audio. Installed Windows 7 everything looked good, then realized my Sony A/V receiver model SA-WCT100 was not outputting my movie collection in surround 5.1 like it use to using Vista.
I figured, thats cool, probably need to install ac3filter_1_51a, I had to in Vista, and it worked a treat when I enabled SPDIF pass through. I guess I should mention Im using HDMI all the way through, from my PC to the receiver, from the receiver to the LCD. Well, that didn't fix it, everything still plays in stereo. After scratching my head and clicking here and there, I finally found a little tab in the sound settings of my Realtek HDMI setting called 'Custom'.
I selected it, it said to enable AC3, DTS, etc click this box will require a restart. I said awesome, sounds like just what I need. I clicked, and rebooted. I went into WMC, and setup my audio wizard again, and selected 5.1, and tested, and this time it reported 5.1 on my Sony receiver as before it only showed 2 channels (Stereo). I played some of my DVD rips, and bam my DVD rips were playing surround sound again.
I was like that was easy enough. I went to test my Blu-Ray rips that I had converted to WMV HD using TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0, and the video started to play, and I was like, wheres the damn sound. I noticed on the receiver, it didn't report anything for sound. I had no idea what was going on. My surround sound was finally working for everything, but my WMV HD videos had no sound output. I mean I can't even get stereo or anything out of them now. At least before the WMV played in stereo, now I can't hear anything.
Please someone tell me what could be the problem, I don't know what else to try. I don't want to have to revert back to stereo, and disable the magic box under custom in my sound setting.
I have downloaded the latest Realtek drivers form Realtek, version 2.35 for the ATI HDMI audio, and the Digital Audio. I also have the latest drivers for my integrated Radeon 3200 graphics card. I read that sometimes a high resolution can affect the audio, so I lowered my resolution from 1080p, and that didn't help, which I figured it wouldn't.
I have had this sound card now for about 3 years. Everything worked fine with XP sp2 along with my old Logitech Z-560(THx) 4.1 speaker setup. Ever since I upgraded to Win7x64 it seems to not like this new card for whatever reason. I uninstalled the Xp drivers, and I disabled onboard sound in the bios. I even tried the latest beta driver on the Creative website. Nothing seems to work for my issue. The issue is that the rear speakers work, but they act as another somewhat muted front, and not a rear speaker. In the Creative Console Launcher, the rear speakers don't make any sound at all when testing channels. Also, the card stutters a bit during gameplay. More noticeably so during older games like CS Source. It will pause the graphics for 1/2 a second during a sound about once every 4-5 minutes (sometimes more often).I have been using 2.1, or stereo just fine, but I would like to use those rear speakers! Of note, the Logitech Z-560 speakers only have a green and black connection both are plugged in.
how I would do a 5.1 surround sound set up using only the microphone jack and headphone jack on my laptop - without utilizing an external sound card.
What I am interested in is: would it be possible to reconfigure/reassign the role of each audio port and how would I do that? How would I physically connect a front left/right, rear left/right and sub-woofer cable, to two ports available on my basic laptop? do i have to strip some wires and "piggy-back" the wires. Is what I am asking for possible? I know, the easy thing to do is to go and buy an external sound card like the Zalman-RSSC V2 5.1ch USB sound card, but I already have a desktop with an adequate sound-card for the purposes stated above and I want to try something challenging
windows 7 won't recognize my surround sound speakers and when i try playing music the volume of my 2 rear speakers keeps changing (they get louder and softer uncontrollably.) according to windows all my drivers are up to date. when i go to the playback tab in the sound settings menu, my speakers aren't displayed in the list and when i try to configure the speakers it wont let me choose surround speakers. i tried changing the settings in realtek hd audio manager but still i couldn't select surround speakers. the problem is not my speakers because the surround sound works perfectly with my Xbox 360 and my PS3.my laptop is an acer aspire 5736z running windows 7 home premium 32 bitmy speakers are Logitech z506 5.1 surround sound speakers
whilst playing games (mostly RTS) my screen flickers then goes black, sometimes goes to the desktop or the game loading screen then resumes the game?My GPU is an NVidia GTS 250, I have updated the driver to the latest version but the issue still persists, the issue isnt with one particular game, it happens on Dawn of war 2, king arthur fallen champions, war hammer mark of chaos. From the sys reqs my system should be more that capable of running them.
i'm having problems with my new webbook. the sound is working in general, wma files play and I can hear sound when streaming etc but when I try and play a dvd I get no sound. i thought it was the external dvd player so I reinstalled the driver with the windows 7 driver, installed the latest driver for the DVD software for Win 7 no luck, then someone suggested DivX so I installed that still no luck.
on the DivX website it suggests that you install this software to see if you have the correct codec, did that and it says i have the correct codec installed to play the specific file, (see here DivX Support)
so while looking here i read about issues with realtek drivers so I installed the latest driver for win 7 I thinkn its R2.37 and still no luck.
Is there some setting in the Sound Manager that i need to adjust.
Sound is playing very fast, sounds like the Chipmunks. Intel(R) D945GCCR (integrated on motherboard I believe) OS: Windows 7 x32, I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and have looked for updated drivers and found none. Problem still persists.
Im using windows 7 and im trying to use my sound recorder. i recorder some words, then i saved it and i tried to play it; it was playing but there was no sound it was just blank.
my computer has not been playing the startup sound, and on a side note.when I go to the welcome screen for longer than 10seconds it has this LOUD HIGH PITCHED NOISE that really annoys me.
I was playing on my laptop and I took off my headphones but the music was playing through my laptop speakers. why sound plays through both my laptop speakers and my headphones.
My friend told me about this game "Tribes" It's a fantasy shooting game. Requires a pretty good PC to run it on "very high" which i did. I didnt really have any lags or anything. Smooth gaming...
After 45min - 1hour playing this game. My pc suddenly starts to make this sound like it's "sparks" and my pc turns black for 2 - 4 secs. It did this 3 - 4 times in a row with 5 - 10 sec between. So i closed the game fast as possible and saw my graphic card running 70 degrease. My friend told me to take my cover on the side off to get a better airflow. I did it reduced it with 3 - 4 degrease.
With Cover on my PC runs 45 degrease with regular programs open. (Windows live messenger, Curse Client) And 2 - 3 internet browsers - Without my cover it runs 41 - 43 degrease. (My side cover got a 200x40 fan running on the side)
My question is: What could cause these blackouts and the sparkling?? "Only tried this 1 time playing Tribes. I also got BF3 no problems playing that game" Is 40 - 45 degrease to high running now game? Does my PC suck lots of dust in without a side cover on? Could my side fan be pushing air away from my GPU?? (causing the high degrease)
I have a job where I constantly say the same stupid line when I answer the phone. Its a software phone and what I want to do is, record my greeting via the sound recorder, then play it back THROUGH the audio pickup as though I am speaking it through the microphone as usual, not through my computer speakers
I have been running windows 7 on my computer for quite some time and haven't had very many huge problems until recently. Now, sometimes when I start up my computer, it keeps on playing that warning sound that you hear whenever there is some sort of popup that tells you when something is wrong. But when it happens nothing ever pops up, and that warning sound plays nonstop every couple of seconds and it is driving me insane. I looked at task manager to see if there was some process that would be causing that error message and I found nothing. I also went to msconfig to make sure that all startup programs were disabled and they were. I also looked at my system sounds to see which sound it is and I found out that it is the asterisk sound. The problem I am having now doesn't happen all of the time but when it does, it lasts for a long time and requires restarting my computer.
And for the record, I am running windows 7 64 bit.
from the digital audio device? every time i plug in my $20 speakers i got from target, the audio device changes from my soundmax driver (which comes thru the lappy speakers) to a digital audio device in my little speaker icon thingy and i don't know how to manually change it back except thru reinstalling the drivers and rebooting a bunch of times, when i go to properties it only shows the enabled device and i can't find the other output option. if i reinstall the soundmax drivers it switches back to laptop speakers but this is obviously a hassle.
Well i was playing a game i think it overheated im not sure cause its like over 100+ and i was playing games. Anyway there was a screen that was a bunch of colors i think mostly purple or pink but whatever. So i shut down my computer and when i turn it on it makes a buzzing noise for like a minute. I cleaned the inside of the computer all the dust out from the fans and all that but it still makes the sound. Also after the buzzing sound it turns off then back on then a light buzzing sound for a bout 4 or 5 mins then i think its gone. Its either that or because i turn on my modem then turn on my computer a second later.(i dont usually do that).
And not just fullscreen. Saaaay... Farm Frenzy? Or any other game. Computer makes a buzzing noise on EVERY game I play when it loads something from the game. It's not from the speakers, it's from the computer itself. What's the catch?
I'm thinking of adding a soundbar to my 4.0 system and it would use the spdif on the mobo but is it possible to have two default devices running at the same time?
problem while playing the audio files(like mp3, wav...etc) with front panel headphones, the sound interrupting continuously (like 10 seconds sound-1 second mute-12 second sound-1 s mute-5 s sound-1 s mute) but there is no problem while playing video files. I opened the mixer from taskbar audio icon and saw the headphones device goes and comes cyclically while playing audio files.
So I built this computer a few weeks ago with Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything sound-wise has been working til a few days ago, but I have been working through some video problems.Since this started on Friday, the sound mixer/volume control shows sound playing. But nothing comes out the speakers. When I click the top, it doesn't say 'speakers', it says 'Realtek audio'. When I click that, the sound window comes up and under "jacks" it says "rear optical jack." The top says S/PDIF. Those are both formats that I have never used on this system.I've always used only the rear panel analog jack.Anyways, I feel like I've tried everything under the sun and I'm close to RMA'ing the motherboard.
